A family owned hotel in Tielve, in the Picos de Europa region, located on some seriously world renowned hiking and mountain climbing trails, and has the most old school and tiny European village charm ever. Each room provides panoramic views of the mountainous region and you will see flocks of goats moving around in the mountains and chickens and cows moving about. The bar and restaurant serves excellent drinks and home cooked meals served family style and everything is fresh as can be and local. Expect the fish to be caught from the nearby stream juat hours before it is served. Conchita, one of the ladies running the place, will make you feel like family and is happy to serve you. The world famous Queso Cabrales is made here and continues to win awards, so if you are a fan of cave aged blue cheese get some and don't forget to pair it with the local cider! It is God's county here and you will experience a star filled sky, hear cow bells in the distance, roosters crowing in the morning, goats defying gravity, and feel like you can touch the clouds. All with a mountainous backdrop. I have been staying here since I was a little tike and contine to return to see family and enjoy the sights. I have fond memories of this beautiful rustic town, running and hiking with cousins, and just typing this makes me miss it and the welcoming family here. Getting here isn't easy, but well worth it.
