The Alhambra palace and the city are within striking distance, but you do need a car. The Villa itself was very clean and welcoming, breakfast was great. The only criticism I have is that there is little nightlife in Padul itself, you really need to get in the car to reahc a nice bar or restaurant. But I would stay here again.

Beach is rocky, so its not that enjoyable to walk or play in the beach. The hotel is far enough from Nerja that you'll want to drive, but there isn't parking. So cabs or bus. The hotel restaurant has only a pretty medicre buffet. Huge variety, but low quality. Juice tastes like from a can. Coffee all comes from a machine. There's no real espresso machine anywhere at the resort. Room was clean, no bugs. But the fridge didn't stay cold, so we lost the food we bought. After that, just used it to keep waters cool. Staff are not very hospitable, especially considering the resort is off the beaten path. Folks working at thebgas stations were more friendly. If we go back to Costa del Sol, we'll definitely stay somewhere else.

The guide was extremely informative - he spoke of the vineyard, the history, the grape varietals, the climate, and the winemaking process. In the end we tasted 3 wines. It was a wonderful experience. There is also an outstanding restaurant with breathtaking views of the Sierra Nevada mountains. The restaurant is upscale and the food is impressive. The menu is one page with starters, and main fish and meat dishes. We tried a couple of starters and a fish and meat main. Everything was spectacular - well presented and flavorful. To me, there is nothing better than a fine restaurant attached to a good winery and as it appears a great hotel as well!
