The walk at night - not advisable…read more During the day - yes, do the walk and find yourself wandering between small streets, on the beach and arriving at a destination well sought for. For a hostel this is a GREAT one. Dinner, (the fish is as fresh as you could want it) breakfast (a work of art) and probably lunch (didn't get to that one) but trust me, dinner and breakfast? - WELL WELL WELL past being delicious. The tropical enterior, doesn't do the outside justice and I easily foumd myself mesmerized by the recording of the local surfing competition on the television as you get a great meal. You will easily fall in love with One Love at Puerto Escondido.

What a find! My cousin (local) brought us to this gem of a restaurant/hostel. The place is a bit…read moreout of the way, but definitely worth the trip. Nico (owner?) was very gracious Zander helpful in his recommendations, from main dishes to dessert. He even suggested a locally-made chocolate mezcal that wasn't bad (though I prefer my mezcal pure). The dorado carpaccio, grilled fish, and salad with mangoes and raw beets were all perfectly balanced in flavor and presentation as well as healthy portions. My son had creme brûlée that had small pieces of coconut and not too sweet. And the bill, even with drinks and coffee came to less than $50 (US @ $16 pesos) for four of us; most reasonable. Can't go wrong and look forward to going again on my next trip to Puerto.

Out of all the restaurants, 3 are very good. Starting at No.1 is Tamarind. Excellent Oaxacan (Mexican) food, excellent vibe, beautiful decor and feels welcoming. No.2 Castaways. Beautiful ocean view, food is good (seafood) and the staff is friendly. No.3 Spice; food is good, teppanyaki is great, staff is very friendly and is fun. The beach is amazing, almost a virgin spot, the sand is a little rough but is such an amazing place. Room service is very good, I highly recommend it. The Spa, Jesus Christ, what an amazing experience, you can't miss it. The best massages I've had. Believe me, it's one of a kind. Down side of this place, some of the restaurants are straight out bad. Cin Cin (Italian) was just awful. Worst Italian food I've had in my life. Marketplace (at lunch time) was also pretty bad. I have to say, this place for breakfast is pretty good. All and all, is a great place I would definitely come back, having in mind what places are good and what are bad.

The resort is very well maintained and offers a lot of activities, such as archery and water aerobics, if that's your thing. The air conditioning and wifi work great in the rooms. The French restaurant is by far the best among its Italian, Mexican and Asian competition. A nice escape from the typical tourist traps of Cabo and Cancun. About a 20 minute drive to/from the airport. Inquire about shuttle services offered by the resort to avoid a long line for a taxi upon landing.
