Overall, this hotel is very classy, and is located in a beautiful marina near Lausanne. It's a 15-20 minute taxi to the Lausanne train station, and you can walk to Lausanne along a lakeside path (which took around 60 minutes). The rooms were clean, fairly spacious (by European standards) and modern. The hotel was also clean and very classy. The hotel restaurant was excellent, with a good variety of local foods and French cuisine. Service was generally very responsive and helpful. The only problem we encountered was the internet. Wifi was included in our rooms, but it barely worked at times and was very slow at others. We depended on the internet for our meeting, and kept getting the run-around from staff and management. They suggested having some of our guests log-in from the router in the lobby, and then move up to the 1st floor conference room, but this often didn't help. My room had very spotty access, and it was almost unusable most of the time. There was also a limited number of English television stations available - no CNN, Fox News, BBC News, Sky 24, etc. Otherwise, we were all very happy with the hotel and our stay!

He quickly checked me in then assisted me with my luggage and guided me to my room in the dark. My experience with the spa reception was good. When I stopped by the spa to explore what's available at your spa, the receptionist politely informed me that she doesn't speak English. But she used a smartphone translator app to assist me. That's good quality customer service. The disappointing experiences I had were with the daytime front desk receptionists. One lady and one gentleman. I informed the lady on the 2nd day that the info sheets provided in my room regarding Le Deck's hours and the bar hours are incorrect. She politely informed me that they should be up-to-date/current. I informed her the sheets, both the English and the French versions showed the bar opens from 12am to 2am. The Le Deck is closed after October. She then replied that those are outdated info. They changed them earlier this year. Those sheets have been updated accordingly. She didn't apologize for the incorrect/outdated info provided in my room's guest folder nor offered to provide me an up-to-date/current info sheets. She instead was very firm about the info sheets have been updated and I should have the current info sheets in my room. I showed her the info sheets from my room next morning. She was surprised to see the incorrect/outdated info sheets and thanked me for bringing them to her. I stayed for another 3-4days, the updated info sheets were never provided to me. I was also disappointed by the day time receptionist when I called to find out why I was not informed the sauna was out of service and a repairman was working in the spa area when I booked my 1 hour spa access service. I was told on the phone that I should have been informed at the time when I checked in for my room that the sauna is out of service. She told me that it's been out of service and there's also a sign on the entry door to the spa. Instead of apologizing for not informing me the out-of-service sauna at the time I booked my service, she informed me that I should've been provided plenty info before using the spa. I waited until the evening receptionist started his shift to verify if he informed me the out-of-service sauna. He politely informed me that he honestly didn't remember. I appreciate his honest response. It doesn't make sense to me to have a host informing the guests when they enter a restaurant that some of the items on the menu are not available. Normally the guests would be informed out of service/not available items at the time of booking or ordering. Sounds like the daytime receptionist did not want to own the responsibility again for not doing her job. When I arrived for my booked 1 hour spa access service, no one was attending at the spa entry/the spa front desk. The entry door was open. I do not recall seeing an out-of-service sauna sign. It wasn't until after I changed into my bathing suit and walked to the sauna room, I saw the out-of-service sign. When I was using the steam room and the pool, and supposedly the quiet/tranquil/relaxation lounge, there was a repairman drilling, fixing the sauna with tools/equipment spread around outside the sauna room, not pleasant. When I gave my feedback to the daytime receptionist that it's disappointing they would accept my booking request with the sauna being out of the service and knowing the repairman will be fixing during the time I'll be using the spa, her response was "didn't you use the other amenities other than sauna"? With that response of hers, I knew I made a mistake providing my feedback to her. I don't think she understand the difference between paying CHF15 with steam room, sauna, pool, relaxation lounge, and the gym available for use and paying CHF15 with only steam room, pool, lounge and gym available with repair drilling noise and mess. I was planning to book a facial and a massage through out the next few days I stayed at your hotel. The above incident and the disappointing customer service concerned me. I decided to go somewhere else to enjoy my spa services. My two meals at Le Deck were wonderful. The view, the service, the food were all great! As for breakfast, I had two breakfasts and one was great. One I was slightly disappointed. The latter one I showed up at 9:30am. Not much scrambled eggs left. I waited for more scrambled eggs to be brought, it never happened. The breakfast buffet hours were until 10am. I thought about asking for it, but base on my previous disappointing customer service experience, I didn't want to waste my time and risk being disappointed again. There are many great qualities Le Baron Tavernier provided, spacious room, jaw-dropping views, beautiful common areas, delicious food at Le Deck, some hotel staffs were professional/helpful.
