Hot Asana is the best yoga studio I have ever been to. Hands down. I have attended yoga classes in Kansas City, Chicago, Minneapolis and various other large cities and none of them have come close to the community that is Hot Asana. This gem in Wichita, KS remains at the top of my list for yoga studios and fitness studios broadly. All of the instructors are welcoming, personal and so supportive of each individual's yogi journey. When you attend a class at Hot Asana you see all levels from beginner to the very experienced. The environment is not intimidating, but instead is encouraging and comfortable. When you walk into Hot Asana you are greeted by name and checked in quickly. From there you can drop your things out front or head to the locker room for more personal storage or bathroom/shower amenities. If you forget your mat it's never a problem one can be rented for $2. Hot Asana also has a very impressive inventory of Manduka mats and towels as well as various other brands of apparel, essential oils and mat sprays, and other necessities for the yoga junkie. There are a variety of ways to be a member either through unlimited class packages or by set a number of classes bundled by package. The studio offers all hot yoga classes, fundamentals or more advanced, lasting either 45 (express) or 60 minutes. Instructors do a great job feeling out the level of the class and tweaking to keep the yogis engaged. Even the harder classes with more advanced yogis are full of recommendations to modify poses to fit each yogis flexibility, strength and comfort zone. One of the best things about Hot Asana is that the community believes in you and your abilities even when you feel you can't do something. You're encouraged to keep trying. It's not uncommon to hear classmates or instructors call out to others with a "great job" or a "one more time you almost had it". Keep practicing until you believe in yourself enough to achieve your goals. My experience with Hot Asana began on a whim on a random Tuesday night in October but after I attended this studio once I have continued to practice with my fellow yogis at the East locations 3-4 times a week. Each instructor has their own signature touch that they put into each of their classes. After regular attendance you come to know and love the differences in each practice. Gina, Tony and all of the instructors at Hot Asana truly know how to do it right. I've been a student at this hot yoga studio for years, and I can honestly say it used to feel like a second home to me. The community, the teachers, the energy - it was all so welcoming and uplifting. I genuinely loved every session and appreciated the space Gina had built. However, over the past years, I've heard more and more troubling things about how Gina, the owner, has been treating her teachers. It's deeply disheartening to learn about the way she has mistreated the very people who helped make this studio a place I've always loved. I've heard that she's screamed at her teachers, even making them cry, creating a toxic, hostile environment. It's gut-wrenching to think about how someone I once admired could be so cruel. On top of that, she's been spreading lies, including fabricating stories about her students being perverts, which is completely unfounded and cruel. There's also been a disturbing pattern of clear favoritism. If you're a female teacher with advanced skills, Gina is clearly threatened, even if that teacher was trained by her. The atmosphere is tense, and it's obvious that Gina has a problem with any woman who shows too much potential or confidence. Meanwhile, it's evident that the male teachers are her favorites. That's why the same male teacher is on all the Facebook lives, but no one else. This kind of bias has only contributed to the toxic environment and made the studio even more unwelcoming. The students, can see and feel the tension between the teachers and it is uncomfortable. I finally understand why the teachers who leave rarely have something positive to say about working at Hot Asana. As much as I wanted to ignore these things, I can no longer support a business where the owner's behavior is so harmful to those around her. This studio meant so much to me, but I cannot continue to be a part of a community that tolerates such toxicity. It's heartbreaking, but I have no choice but to walk away. I hope Gina takes a hard look at her actions and realizes the damage she's causing before it's too late. Until then, I will be finding a new place that aligns with the values I believe in. read more

I absolutely love Hot Asana! I have always been one who likes to stay in shape but up until a couple of months ago I primarily ran outside or on my treadmill when I could. I work full time, am married and have three kiddos so it was very easy for me to talk myself out of hopping on the treadmill or hitting the gravel road for a quick run. A co-worker of mine was always trying to get me to come to a class with her (first two classes here are FREE so you can give it a whirl before committing!!) and I finally gave in and went. After the first class with Gina I was hooked. I loved the warm room and the amount of sweat I had pouring off my body at the end. It was definitely fast paced and I fell behind quite a bit at first but I loved the challenge and trying to push my body to a whole new level. There are a variety of different teachers and they each have their own teaching style. Some classes are at a slower pace and are more on the relaxing end, but others do move at that faster pace and push you until you feel like you can't be pushed anymore. I definitely prefer the faster paced classes. :) All of the teachers are very knowledgeable and helpful. It's a very welcoming atmosphere no matter what level you are at with your practice. Since I've started attending, I try to do at the very least 2 classes per week. I look forward to it and rarely talk myself out of going. In fact sometimes I get cranky if I can't go lol. I feel so much stronger already and when I do go for a run now I can feel the improved strength and endurance that my body has developed from adding this to my routine. I have heard from many people that Hot Asana's particular style of yoga is difficult, or not for them, etc. And while it's certainly true that it can be a very intense, fast-paced practice, what I have noticed after being a consistent (daily) member of the studio for the last two months is that every instructor has a different style, and they all encourage you to go at your own pace, find your own flow, and practice your own practice. Yes, it is compelling to do what the instructor and most of the other yogis are doing, but once you get past that, you have all the freedom in the world to do your own thing. From the first time I walked in the doors I was greeted with a friendly and laid back attitude and atmosphere. All of the instructors are kind and encouraging and patient, and the culture of the whole community is supportive and united. As for the practice itself, if you do choose to follow along with the instructor, it can certainly be one hell of a workout. Prepare to drip like a shower head, especially if the room is quite full. But with that, you will finish the class feeling better than you probably have ever felt, and you will certainly have moved further forward in your practice and journey. Hot Asana is an incredible yoga studio, but more importantly an incredible community of like-minded and compassionate people. I am in love with this place and the instructors. I started back into yoga a few months ago. My daughter has chronic pain and they recommended that we give it a try. She has yet to attend a class...the heat makes her nervous!!! We did do the paddle board yoga together and she rocked it out!!! I bring home what I learn and we do it together. I hope to get her to a class soon. I did somewhat of a handstand for the first time the other day with the help of Gina. I didn't feel ready but she just came by and encouraged me, and I actually did it. She walks around and helps you get into the positions and you can feel her energy. I come at 5 am twice a week with Erin...she is awesome. She encourages you, knows my name and is so welcoming. I have also taken a few classes with Cristy. She is also awesome. Again always encouraging and one to let you know that you are doing great. I never have felt at a gym what you feel in yoga. A sense of community, a sense of wanting to do better and for others to do better in their practice, exhaustion and power all in the same breath. I will keep going as long as they will have me. I have been practicing at Hot Asana since the day they opened and I am certain there is no studio, community, or yoga family like it! The instructors, especially the owner, will push you to what you think is your limit and then ask you to push a little harder, and that is what it takes to "make the impossible possible" which is what the studio is all about. There is a variety of teachers brining their own version of a challenging vinyasa flow. If you are new to yoga I highly recommend taking a close look at the schedule and hitting up one of their fundamentals classes or even one of the workshops they offer monthly! Most of their regular weekly classes are a little faster paced and starting with the fundamentals class will give you the foundation you need to move through the more challenging flows safely with confidence. Remember that every teacher is simply there to guide you through your practice offering ideas and structure, you take what you want and leave what you don't! Hot Asana has been absolutely life changing. When I started a year ago, I struggled to do a lot of the moves, but loved the mental clarity I had after a class and could notice small changes each and every class. I've been to almost all of the instructors classes, all of whom are so helpful, patient, and motivating. I have only felt encouraged by every instructor. Classes are really challenging, but I love that the culture is one of "do what you can in this moment," knowing you are capable of so much more than you thought possible. You get this incredible feeling of pushing through hard stuff that makes you feel stronger and more capable of facing hard stuff outside the studio. The community is also such a crucial piece of Hot Asana. I have been going 5-6 a week for a year and can say without a doubt you will be challenged, do things you didn't think you could, feel stronger, and leave with a true blissful feeling that is hard to come by. read more

I've been practicing yoga for 9 years now despite very limited flexibility and strength range. As a runner of 35+ years I was starting to develop some very frustrating injuries due to tightness and weakness and yoga is my best defense to still run big miles and keep me out of physical therapy. I wasn't sure I would like the hot factor of this studio because I keep myself well acclimated to afternoon running and don't need a hot studio to break a sweat. I took advantage of a free class and absolutely loved it. Bonus it was something my teenage daughter and I could enjoy doing together. I felt like I would probably be very out of place and my skill level would hold me back. I've never found that to be true and such a strong environment of acceptance and community exists there that you are pretty excited to go back for your next class. read more

Hot Asana Yoga Studios are beautiful, welcoming spaces to practice yoga! I have gone to multiple Hot Asana classes at both locations (East & West Wichita), and EVERY class and instructor has been absolutely wonderful! Hot Asana classes focus on building flexibility and strength at the same time. The instructors are all very knowledgeable and encouraging while guiding you through your practice. They provide modifications and variations in each yoga pose, making the pose accessible in your body. I'm thankful for Hot Asana, it has become part of my weekly routine to become stronger and healthier. Little does the staff know that for the past few years they've been helping me battle anxiety & depression. When I was diagnosed with this it took everything in me to get up off the couch and do something for me. I sporadically struggled to make it through one class. Per the doctor's orders, ​I had to do something to take care of myself. Yoga was one of many tools I found helpful. Three years later and I'm feeling stronger, more consistent​, and more confident to take risks. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, & always learning. They encourage when it's difficult. My favorite place to practice hot yoga! Whether you're a beginner or more advanced in your practice, this is the place to go! They've got classes every day of the week with a variety of wonderful teachers along with the occasional specialty class or workshop. Each teacher has their own fun, unique flow that keeps classes interesting and you wanting to come back for more. They all add modifications to either simplify a pose or add another layer of complexity. If you have an injury or something that's been bothering you, let them know! They're happy to give you pointers to keep your body safe. Hot Asana also partners with local businesses to have fun classes outside of the studio if you want something other than a heated class. I have been coming here for about a year and if I could give it more stars, I would! This place has everything you need! First 2 visits are free! Mats and mat towels available for rent. Complimentary hand towels for use and bottled waters in the fridge. Locker rooms are clean and showers are available at the East location. The hot yoga room is HOT (get ready to sweat!) and the music is awesome. Different instructors have different styles and they have all been very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I'm new to yoga and hot yoga. The two studios are great; one on the east side of town, on one the west side of town. The options for class times makes it easy to fit a class into my schedule. They offer your first two classes for free and a killer deal for new students, two weeks unlimited for only $20! Gina, the owner already knows me by name and makes me feel welcome and part of the yoga family. (I'm 13 days in to my practice) The instructors offer variations during class so you can stay in your comfort zone or you can challenge yourself. The BEST part of class is at the end, during savasana....the instructor places a frozen cloth that has been infused with essential oils on your forehead!!!!! I am newly retired and made a goal to focus working on making myself a better, healthy person. I had taught elementary education and I gave 110% to my kids and job. A neighbor asked me to go to hot yoga. I was scared to death, but Asana Hot Yoga was exactly what I needed. First, the yoga instructors are amazing. They make everyone feel special no matter what level you are on. The people in the classes are all so welcoming. My strength, balance, and flexibility are all improving, after only 3 months! I've been attending Hot Asana for two years now. A few months ago I had surgery on my wrist and was really worried about having to miss classes while I was recovering. The community and instructors at Hot Asana kept my spirits high and gave me so much encouragement. I had to wear a cast for a month after my surgery, meaning I couldn't practice in the hot room, but thanks to the additional 'cool' rooms at each studio, I was able to keep going to class and practicing along by Face Timing into the hot room. I'm still in the recovery process, but the people at Hot Asana have kept me motivated to get better while continuing my yoga practice. I could go on and on about how the people are nice, the instructors are helpful, how you always feel welcome no matter what day of the week it is, and the fact that it's open literally every day but Christmas, but I'd rather talk about how after a year of doing NOTHING other than hot yoga, my blood pressure has never been better, my lower back hurts a lot less, my ab region has considerably less jiggle, and my scale reads 20 lbs less. Sick of the up and down crap you go through going to the gym, where nobody talks to one another and you get burnt out by March? What a great place with great people. My wife and I originally started attending to work on the flexibility side of things in hopes to improve our running. Well, 6 months later we're still there, more flexible but have gained so much more than improved running. It's a community of folks who are supportive of one another and yoga is now part of our exercise routine. Each instructor brings something different to the table, but all are encouraging and push you to do something you haven't done before. I love how each teacher has their own style of teaching, which allows the student to choose their favorite. If you're new to yoga you can always start with hot fundamental classes or for more advance yogi's there are faster pace classes that allow you to grow your practice as you decide. There are a multitude of times offered to fit your busy schedule, most classes are an hour long but some are offered for 45 minutes for a quick workout if you are too busy to commit a full hour. I didn't expect to like hot yoga because I didn't expect to like the heat. I don't care much for 99° days, so why would I like the studio to be that hot? And yet, I was hooked after the very first class. There's something about that extra heat that changes the experience, pushes you harder, deepens the practice. I've found the class schedule convenient despite the fact that I work somewhat unusual hours. The instructors do a great job of providing modifications for poses so yogis can dial the intensity and difficulty up or down in relation to personal skill level. And the frozen towel on the forehead during savasana is wickedly divine. read more
