Check-in was quick and easy. Our room was clean and spacious. The extra closet space in the living room was greatly appreciated. There were both a shower stall and a separate shower/tub combination in the bathroom. Water pressure and temperature were reliable every day. The restaurant across from the lobby was also quite nice with delicious meals and friendly service. There's both garage and street parking, but only a few spots on the street level. There's a supermarket right next to the hotel and a variety of restaurants, bars, and shops along the street. Although we did have a rental vehicle, we also took advantage of the free public transportation provided to the local areas. The hotel's receptionist gave each of us a free Davos-Klosters Card. This card has many benefits, including free train travel between the towns and free bus travel within Davos as well as many other discounts and benefits. Davos, Switzerland is truly beautiful and I do recommend to everyone. The Hilton Garden Inn really exceeded our expectations.

This hotel is either freshly renovated or brand spanking new. Whoever was responsible for the fit-out has done a super job! The rooms are perfect. Nothing overstated, but hitting the mark. I like a shower that is not in a bath tub, because let's be honest, who really uses the bathtub? Let's just say that the photos on the website, do the place justice. This is one of the exceptions where the photos match the real life. The bar was simple but stylish with a selection of cocktails available. I did have to ask for my mojito to be made stronger the second time around ;) The restaurant was also up to my standards. I order the Rind tartar which was perfect, and the Züri geschnetzles which was also good. The rösti was top notch, but I have had better geschnetzles. Maybe excusable because we were in graubunden ;) The restaurant got extremely busy and the wait staff were hard working and friendly. Management were also attentive that people were enjoying their stay. I didn't try out the sauna or dampfbad so can't comment. A hot tub/pool would be a nice addition to this hotel as what else do you need after a long day skiing? Fair to say this place comes with a price at 300CHF per night on price comparison websites, but from what I understand, this is expected for accomodation in Davos during the high season and was comparable to other hotels in the area.

Other hotels are too close to each other with no trees around. It was formally "the Grand Hotel" , the dining room and corridors are huge and reminiscent of this period. It took entirely too long to get seats, so our group took it into their hands to get our chairs situated and helped ourselves to menus. It took quite awhile to get our drink and food orders taken. Most of the food took an expected amount of time to come out except 2 whole orders were missing. They must have forgotten and still had to make them. Most of the table had finished their food by the time the last 2 dishes arrived. Seemed understaffed for a busy dinner service. The customers who's meals were so late asked to be comped another round of drinks so they could enjoy it with their meal. We were able to do separate checks (requested from the start). It was also quite hot inside, and wish they would have kept the door open for a breeze. My cordon bleu was delicious and very cheesy inside, though I had ordered with pasta and it came out with fries (they brought a separate plate of pasta so I ended up with both). The hard cider was also very good. My parents enjoyed their asparagus and capuns. Overall, my group enjoyed the food but was fouled a bit by the service. Personally, it was hard to enjoy my meal when people at the table were still waiting for food. They can't seem to handle larger groups very well. When I arrived the hotel was closed BUT there was a sign on the door indicating guests were to call if they need assistance. No on answered the phone when I called. Exceptionally nice people at the local restaurant attempted to reach the owners/managers of the hotel and there was no response. When attempting to resolve this issue and ask for a refund, the hotel owners insisted on keeping the money because I arrived 30 minutes after the 6pm check-in - even though I told them of my arrival time and they left a sign on their door to call for assistance. This hotel is strictly about taking money from tourists and giving no customer service. Hotel Franziskaner is a disgrace!

We asked if she would exchange our euros for Swiss francs. She wouldn't. She wasn't that friendly. It was very disappointing.
