The back of the hotel overlooks a large pond in the park. The street in front of the hotel is not too busy but has a lot of shops and restaurants in close walking proximity to the hotel. The hotel includes a restaurant, bar and meeting areas. It does not have a pool, Jacuzzi or exercise room. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean. There is a charge to park at the hotel. I think it was $15 per day, which seemed expensive considering the location. The rooms were very clean and quiet. They include a TV, fridge and hairdryer. Some of the personal care items that hotels generally supply were not replaced during the several day stay, for example the soap and shampoo. The toilet was very close to the bathroom wall and very hard to use, and I am not a big person, see pics. The European style shower was also hard to use and to keep the water inside while using. The breakfast which was $15 Euro per day was amazing! Better than any other hotel breakfast I have had (see pics). It had fresh fruit, yogurt, meats, cheeses, scrambled, sunny side up and hard boiled eggs, sausage, meatballs, a wide array of cereals, large selection of breads and many different juices and coffees. The seating was very open and overlooked the pond and fountain in the park. Overall it was a very good stay.

Outward appearance had an eastern bloc feel to it even though we were well inside the old West Germany. Lobby was small but I didn't plan on spending to much time there anyway. The bedrooms were functional. A tv from the late 90's and a fridge u couldn't fit a M&M in. Bathroom was nice, and the view of the lake in the park was a plus. The beds were once again, just functional. Had hard time sleeping on it since if was so small. There is a restaurant and a bar on the ground floor. Restaurant wasn't bad. Had a veggie cream soup which wasn't bad, and chicken on rice which when mixed with the soup it tasted like a chicken pot pie minus the crust. Dessert was vanilla ice cream and fruit. Which was good. There is a gas station which shares the parking lot with the hotel. Go here for ur water and snacks. We made the mistake of purchasing water from the hotel to take to our room, it cost almost €18 for two 1 liter bottles. While at the station it cost us €9 including gum and iced tea. Hotel was nothing to really write home about, it was simply functional.

Best Cocktails in town…read more Tajik and Sergei are extremely attentive hosts. They made us feel so welcomed that we will come back to the Radisson Blue when we visit Cologne again. We recommend the Bar and Lounge at the Radisson Blu to anyone who enjoys a good atmosphere with very kind hosts
