It's tucked away on top of the mountain, the scenic drive was amazing. We finally arrived and since it's a Sunday, everything we're closed. The huge Castle has enough entertainment for us to stroll, the picturesque furnishings and landscape you can only see them in the movies of the Medieval Castle. Aside from the beauty and elegance, the authentic regional cuisine served in the restaurant delicately prepared to soothe our very picky pallet. We were driving from Madrid to Lisbon and needed a place to rest. What a find. The town is a tine…read morewalled enclave with a Moorish castle. The Parador is a modern renovation of the ancient building. We loved walking the ramparts and the town. No tourists to speak of. Very inexpensive lodging.
