Where to begin.... My favorite Hotel on the Planet…read more I travel from SoCal to Europe each holiday season for 3-4wks, always celebrating NYE in a dif city. So I've stayed in a LOT of 5star hotels. All have been grand but THIS hotel outshines them all. I have been here before - quick stays as a 'sidebar', over nighters. But this time decided on an extended stay. It's a smaller hotel, less than 20rpoms in total. But each is elegant & comfy & welcoming. Our suite is beautifully arranged with gorgeous roof top views and a sun deck for the 4 rooms on our floor. The unbelievably gorgeous restaurant is by night the amazing Le Mystique (wonderful food, elegant atmosphere, and the kindest, most attentive staff!! A MUST!!). and a beautifully done breakfast buffet by when the sun comes up. Their specialty is poached eggs and OH!! Are they 'special'!! Charcuterie & Sausages & Bacon & breads & fruits & grains & yogurts & cakes & juice & coffee & Champagne round out the delicious menu. The location is perfect! A 3 min walk to the main market place, 5 min to the main shopping area, and dozens of restaurants close by. A local food market is across & a bit down the street & Belgium Waffles are a hop away. But far and away.. the thing that separates this hotel from all others are those who seem to love working here. If I could figure out how to rate a review with 6 stars, I would give them 20. To say they are accommodating would be a bit like saying winning a hundred gazillion billion dollar lottery is 'a pleasant afternoon'. I could spend hours, remembering the kindnesses & smiles & attentive acts and never feel as tho I have given them enough respect. They are truly all just spectacular. Thank you, Mr & Mrs Creytens for creating such a wonder hotel. We are honored by our experience.

I have never encountered a kinder, more attentive staff than that of the Heritage. The hotel location could not be more convenient. They offer valet parking, which feels necessary in Bruges, and for €30 a day - well worth it! The breakfast included in our stay also had champagne- yes- I said champagne. In the evenings a tray of port and sherry is brought to your room with a light snack as an aperitif, and gratis! The hotel restaurant - Le Mystique- was the superb fine dining experiences of my life. I cannot say anything negative about this hotel - it is just not possible. If I ever find myself in Bruges again, I will absolutely be staying here.

The woman at the front desk was patient and friendly as I frantically searched my email looking for a confirmation, only to discover I didn't have one. Luckily they still had some rooms left, so she quickly wrung me up and I was on my way to my room. The room was a scrumptiously warm haven and all I wanted to do was fall into the fluffy king bed, but I resisted because I still had to eat, and let's be honest, hunger trumps sleepiness. I was very impressed with the modernity of the room. It had a button-controlled light system installed by the door, the desk, and the bed, with options for dim lighting, table lighting, or full lighting. It was also equipped with two outlets and USB ports, one by the desk and one by the bed. The bathroom was large and accessible - support beams surrounding the WC and a big shower with two wide doors. Not sure if they're all like that, but I was digging the big shower! It was also extremely quiet. Needless to say, I slept wonderfully and wish I could have stayed another night!

Staff member greeted us warmly and took our luggage and checked us in, he then walked us to our room in an adjacent building. Christmas trees and decorations throughout the hotel, like a Christmas movie. Rooms just beautiful, seems I did not take any photos. Dinner This place was just elegant. All staff were extremely polished and sincerely welcoming. Front of house manager seated us and made us feel welcome. Our waiter made us feel special and suggested that I order pheasant as it was in season and was their Holiday dish, I was going to order turbot. Another staff member also came to our table and checked on us was very attentive, he mentioned he was new. Local Belgian Beer served cold, nice flavor. Way better than beer in France which is not served cold. Scallops, wild mushrooms, fermented black garlic cooked perfectly, so much flavor. Scallops is one of my favorite dishes ever. Pheasant with fine champagne cream sauce, chicory root, cranberries. First time having pheasant. Missed Thanksgiving at home so it was like I was having it here with the sauce and cranberries that we so delicious. Filet mignon This monster was like 12 oz, never seen one so big could not eat it all, cooked perfectly medium rare. Came with béarnaise sauce ,fries and fresh salad. Plating It was like a work of art, beautiful. This was a perfect dining experience. This place is class, class, class. We were treated like royalty our entire stay by Duke's Palace staff.

We used the back exit as it had partial rails plus was next to the canal. The statue on the corner plus the flag hanging from the exit were our landmarks. The beds were comfy, the ceiling high, the bath amenities were lemongrass and smelled great. The room was clean, safe and despite the snow and rain of February we were comfortable. The location was good. We took a taxi from the train station and back, and to Church of Our Lady on the day it snowed but the rest of the time we walked. Choco Story was very close as well as 2 really good restaurants at the corner- Blackbird we visited twice, for breakfast and afternoon tea. Spinola we went for dinner and was our first experience at a Michelin restaurant. We also found 2 other great restaurants off the main square. Front desk was helful givng us a walking map plus taking us to our room and calling a taxi for us when we checked out.

He was extremely kind and gave us lots of information about places to eat and see. They offer discounts for museums and tours around town, so make sure to ask about that first before venturing off to town. They also offer free bikes to use in town. We went to Bruges as part of our honeymoon trip, and Rik offered us free champagne and beer as a congratulations! He was extremely kind and had fantastic customer service. We had to leave Bruges at 4am to catch a train to Paris, and Rik offered to leave out the entire breakfast spread for us, even though no one would be working the front desk at that hour. He said he would put juice and milk on ice, and would keep the coffee warm for us. He also instructed the bakery to deliver their breads to the breakfast setup area. What wonderful service! Your stay at Hotel Adornes comes with free breakfast every morning (like most breakfasts in European hotels). Rik also gave us tips on where to go for pizza in Siena and Florence, and what to visit during our upcoming stay in Italy! He also offered to show us a video documentary on Bruges and give us a pamphlet explaining Bruges' history, after INSISTING that we take our free champagne! How cute is that? Highly recommended to stay here! You won't be disappointed. We loved it. It's a quick walk to the main part of town as well.

There are only 2 dog rooms in the hotel and they're both on the main floor next to the entry way. As far as the room itself, it was just ok. We found the bed to be quite uncomfortable and the room to be too noisy for our liking. Also, when we asked several times for tea and hot water from the male front desk man, he seemed very irritated. After the first night when I asked the same man at the front desk if we could have another room, he told us he'd move us upstairs right at that moment. I happily accepted his offer and told him I'd be right back with our stuff, after I went back to our room and packed. I did so, only to return and have him tell me that we were already in one of the two dog rooms and he couldn't move us after all. This was really aggravating considering I had reminded him that we had a dog when I requested he move us. We stayed 3 nights here and decided to extend our stay in Brugges, but we found a much nicer hotel that gave us their best room even with our dog! After the crappy service from the male front desk worker, I would never bother returning here.

The hotel has this old world charm and is a bit dated but that adds to the charm. Their breakfast buffet was the healthiest I ever EVER seen in my life. This is not necessarily a bad thing, just something I noticed. I loved the courtyard and the lobby decor. Finally, the hotel had a beautiful scent being pumped out into the halls.

Reserved a room online (directly) for my son and I for a couple days at the height of summer season. The room was clean, big enough, great free breakfast, knowledgeable staff and a location that convenient but away from the hustle and bustle of busy Bruges (that sounds strange). You can't just rate something 1 star if you chose to pay less. This is a budget option and should be evaluated with other budget options, not the 4 Seasons or Hilton across the street. Additionally, as long as I don't get bed bugs, and decent rest, I think the hotel serves its purpose. Showers are basically in the room and only divided by opaque glass that doesnt reach the ceiling. Toilets have their own door.
