This hotel definitely has its pros and cons.
Pros:
-Location! Right off the Zocalo but still quiet and feels secluded.
-Kind staff, with coffee in the small lobby in the morning and agua fresca in the afternoon
-Mini fridge and coffee maker in room, with a large bottle of water provided daily
-Nice looking (appointments around the hotel, paintings in the room, the pool area, breakfast area, etc)
Cons:
-Pricey for the room size and quality. We paid extra for a Junior suite with terrace and it was still a small room. It was nice to have a little patio to have our coffee in the morning and to let some fresh air in while it was cool outside
-AC Unit was so loud! It was needed to have on every night while we were sleeping as it was in the high 80s-mid 90s the whole time we were there, but it made quite a racket.
-Hot water was sometimes difficult to get
We definitely don't regret staying here, as it was such a central spot and easy to get wherever we needed to go! Some of the hotels we had looked at in advance were in Xochimilco or Jalatlaco and just felt so far away from everything.
Tips your maids a little extra and you can get some extra water, too! There's also a convenience store on the corner, so there and buy a huge jug of water and maybe some cerveza for the fridge! read more
