You do have to pay to use the lockers (2 francs, given back to you when you leave), for the robes, and towels etc. I do like that once you check in, you get a bracelet that you can scan to utilize the facilities, as well as charge your expenses to - including the cafeteria! My favorite spot had to be the rooftop pool. It's a gorgeous view and very relaxing. I would love to find a place like this back home. Not super crowded on a weekday, and definitely a hit with couples. They do not allow phones here, but I still managed to snap a picture or two of myself on the roof and in the spa. Staff will call you out if they see your phone but there were also plenty of people snapping photos when no one was looking. It does seem pretty invasive in this serene environment, but they can't blame you for wanting to capture the beauty! The thermal baths and the steam rooms smell of lavender and other herbs. It is really a great place to renew your energy! Loved coming here and would definitely come back.

Came here for our 2 day stay in Zurich after a long 24 hrs flight…read more Samantha (the daughter) greeted us and she was so charming and helpful. We needed early checkin as our flight came early and she made it possible. We were in Suite #2: 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom with fully furnished kitchen; AC including full Washing machine and dryer (in the basement)! I absolutely loved this place. Sylvia (the Mom) was amazing and extremely helpful as well. I believe they can also provide you a parking spot if you need one. The best part about this place is: (1) pharmacy at the corner (2) coop supermarket a few blocks down (train can be taken there as well) (3) so many cute/cool walking stores nearby (4) safe to be out and about ~8/9pm if you're jet lagged (5) train stops a few feet from the hotel. We were able to go around the city with so much ease and comfort knowing we wouldn't have to walk after a long day of walking. This is a family owned place; the family has really made it a homey place. If you get a chance to stay here don't think twice.

We had the business classroom on the lower floor so that we did not have to climb stairs. It was air-conditioned, the only air-conditioned bedroom in the house. We accidentally booked a single room which we didn't realize until checkin. The front desk staff was so helpful and accommodating. First they immediately called housekeeping to prepare the room for two, and when we realized that it was going to be too small for both of us for a three night stay, they were happy to move us into a king room when it became available the next day. We left our luggage at the front desk and the bags were waiting for us in our new room when we arrived. Interactions with the front desk staff and housekeeping were pleasant throughout. We had a rental car and were able to park it in the underground garage which was a great relief. This hotel is also just next to the Thalwil train station, which has pros and cons. On the plus side, it's a fast and easy ride into Zurich HB and the city center. Conversely, if you get a room on one side of the hotel, you will hear train noise. While no one was working outdoors on the weekend, major construction noise started coming from the train station on Monday morning at 7 am. Ear plugs were provided in the room. I also liked how you could raise and lower the outdoor shutters which blocked out light in the morning. It was consistently 73 to 75 degrees F in the room and the only way to let cooler air in from outside was to open the balcony door - wish there had been a window instead because it was awkward to keep the door open all night. The room itself was well equipped with thoughtful amenities including cold water in the fridge, shower cap, sewing kit, body lotion, even a shoe horn to use during your stay. A downside is that most of the power outlets did not fit our US converter. However, all of the USB's worked and we were able to at least charge our phones and most other devices. The TVs offer a way to cast streaming services from your phone to the screen and it worked perfectly in our first room but not the second one. The breakfast assortment was impressive. Both hot and cold items and an excellent sitting area with a view of the lake. It was only free on Sunday. Fast and excellent Wi-Fi as well.

I knew I wanted to swim in lake Zurich, climb a 10,000+ hike and be close to the trains. This has all of that, but more importantly it has a staff that is super welcoming and aims to please. From the minute we arrived, which was a 3 hour train from Milan and an early one at that, they really understood our needs. They insisted we go swim in the lake, pointed us to a bit of a public but yet private area and it did not disappoint. They have fro yo in bar for those who are into that sort of stuff. The room is super eclectic, my only concern is the Europeans are somewhat stingy with their AC's and there is no control from within. Fancy auto blinds and lights hardwood floors throughout, and a nice balcony with a view of the lake. Quick elevators and some of the best cappuccino yet and trust me I've had a bunch. Yes I'm an IGNORANT American that only speaks English but they took the time to learn another language unlike me. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who's stressing over the $700 a night places in what I have found to be the most expensive European city yet of this tour and this is Country #7 on it..

Hotel St. George's - Zürich…read more This small, three story boutique hotel located centrally in downtown Zürich, with accommodating staff. I walked to this hotel from "HB Train Station," when I first arrived in Zürich. I wanted to explore by foot streets of Zürich. When I walked in, I really enjoyed the lobby (I forgot to take pics ). It offers a touch of historic elegance. Lobby area also leads to their own restaurant area. Breakfast can be purchased separately at the restaurant or at the time of booking. Once the friendly front desk lady finished accommodating a guest before me, she invited me to sit at the comfortable furniture by her desk, to check in. As she assisted me to check in, at some point in our conversation, I mentioned that I forgot my universal outlet adapter. She said, "I do have one extra I can give you for 10 Swiss Francs." It was her personal one. I felt bad she was giving up hers, but I was so grateful. "Thank you for offering me one, yes I will take it. I researched that it would cost 30+ Swiss Francs at a store." It was a wonderful first impression of the friendly and welcoming staff. Once I received my key, another staff member guided me to elevator and up to my room. The room was fairly small with a small bed, and personal sink, but for solo traveler, it's perfect. (All other hotels were more expensive and further away from downtown). You do share toilet and shower with other guests. Each of the three floors, offers few toilet rooms and shower rooms. At first, I was a bit concerned since I've never stayed in hotel with this type of arrangement. But, honestly, it was not an inconvenience in any way. I never had to wait for other guests. I had a balcony that I walked out every morning and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Every night, I propped my window open, fell asleep and enjoyed waking up each morning to chirping birds. Overall I would recommend this hotel and look forward returning.

The bathroom and shower were very clean as well. I was a tad nervous sharing a bathroom/shower with others, but didn't notice a difference really. Never had to wait for either. I did get breakfast one morning and it's a buffet style of typical European foods. Eggs, breads, jams, cheeses, cold cuts, muesli, cereal, and yogurt. Delicious. With tea, coffee, juice, and water. I wish I would have gotten it the whole stay. I would definitely recommend this establishment. Especially for the price and location. Close to train station and many restaurants and sites.
