    Hotel Calipolis - Great views

We stayed at the Hotel MiM Sitges next door last time (review: https://yelp.to/EzuKZ9XM1a), so we wanted to try the Calipolis since they provide panoramic views of the Mediterranean. We reserved a Standard Double Twin room with a Terrace and Frontal Sea View for two nights. During the shoulder season, it goes for $185 per night, but I was able to apply my credit card points to cover the cost. The reasonably spacious room was up on the 4th floor and provided the glorious view we were hoping to secure. Otherwise it was a traditional holiday accommodation, well maintained but not quite at the luxury level of the MiM. Granted the rate was significantly lower here. There was a more bustling atmosphere at this hotel since they have two on-site restaurants and a swimming pool on the main level. MiM's mellow vibe was absent. The private terrace with the view is really the big draw here if you can reserve a room that has one. Otherwise both hotels are equally convenient when it comes to beach access and proximity to restaurants and night life in Sitges. RELATED - Exploring Sitges? Very noisy!!! all night in the halls and it's hard to sleep The hotel beds are very uncomfortable and towels and linens are old Housekeeping just walks in when the requested towels finally show up. Location is on the beach with a 10 min walk to the town up at the church.

As others noted, it's steps from the beach and central to walking about Sitges. Many of the restaurants and shops were just behind it. To the right is the castle area plus additional beaches and shops. To the left is the residential area with a few other hotels and plenty more beach space. The pool was tiny but most places in the area. It also didn't get much sun when we were there... but you're steps to the beach so not a big deal. The front desk was helpful and it was nice that they always had lemonade and smoothies free for guests. This was great on warm days. They also provide welcome cava drinks on their rooftop patio overlooking the ocean as well as vouchers for free drinks at various bars. The breakfast is also very comprehensive. Pastries, hot Spanish breakfast (assortment of seafood and stews), multiple coffee options, charcuterie, cheeses and made to order eggs. It's one of the best we've ever had. Would definitely stay here again!

My room this time is one of their larger with a balcony directly overlooking the pool. The bathroom has been remodeled with a fantastic set of sprays and a long hose sprayer. The super king size bed is the most comfortable in my trip so far. Unfortunately half the building's AC system went down (2+ days so far) and the room was sweltering with 31C/88F days. New portable fans for the rooms helped a bit. Breakfast buffet is excellent and worth the extra cost. Along with English and Spanish breakfast, there is a huge variety of Continental selections.

Subur is an older tourist class hotel with small rooms, but I was pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness of the room and an updated bathroom. My room had a balcony with a small table and 2 chairs with partial sea view. I kept the balcony doors open for sea breezes and never used the A/C. The mini fridge was convenient. The hotel is on the corner of Passiag de La Ribera and C/ de la Bassa-Rodona, so many rooms with balconies face the beach and sea directly across the Malecon. The front staff are friendly and accommodating. Huge beautiful beach towels rent for 2,50€. If you don't return it they charge 5€ (which I actually thought might be worth keeping, but I didn't want to add to my luggage haha). The hotel restaurant is Sitges Sports Bar and didn't look like anything special with burger types and salads. The breakfast buffet also didn't look all that great for the € so I skipped it. I prefer a hotel with a pool, but if staying on my own and headed to the beach anyway, I'd probably come back to Hotel Subur. A pretty good value.

The room was quite large, with 2 large, single beds, a desk, a small fridge, drawers and hanging space for my clothes and a safe. The bathroom was small and only had a (powerful) shower, but for most people this will be fine. The room's air con was good, but even in mid-August, it wasn't needed. There's no view from the room's window, it looks in a light well, but it's bright enough. The room was extremely clean, the bed linen was good quality and it was very quiet. The location is very central to the main bars and restaurants, but as the room didn't look out on to the street, there was no noise. Check in was quick and efficient. The hotel is partly above a sports bar, but it doesn't stay open late so noise wasn't an issue. This bar / restaurant is also the hotel's breakfast area. It served the usual mixture of croissants, juices, cereals, eggs, bacon, ham, cheese and small cakes, all good quality and fresh. The hotel is around a 10 minute walk to the train station, there are lots of bars and restaurants within 2 or 3 minutes and you can be on the beach in less than a minute of leaving the property. The reception area feels modern and looks smart, the corridors leading to the rooms don't look and feel quite so smart but will be fine for most people. All staff were helpful and cheerful. I'd have no hesitation in staying here again.

It's a large resort with the typical Mediterranean flair, thought a bit outdated, but perfect for what it is. I stayed here for about 4 nights and I loved every minute of it. I had nothing planned except leaving here, walking that cool hill-y beach path to the beach next door, walking around the little gated community it's in. The hotel amenities were standard fare, comfy beds, nice bathroom, little balcony with the view, great room cleaning. I didn't try out any of their room service (did they have any? I don't remember checking). But this place is definitely now my go to whenever I'm back in Sitges.

The only thing I'd warn about is that it is in the marina which is a good 15-20 min walk to town with stairs and a dirt path. Good news is that the dirt path goes right by the main nude beach (Playa Balmins)! There are a ton of restaurants near the hotel in the marina but they are all expensive and cater more to the yacht owners, etc. We ended up walking to town for just about every meal and now have calves of steel. Plan ahead for that. PROS: Clean, pool, friendly staff, decent buffet breakfast, felt very comfortable for Americans CONS: 15-20 min walk to main part of town, expensive marina restaurants Feel free to message me if you have any questions about this hotel or getting to/from Sitges to the Airport.

It is a four star hotel which is blatantly advertised in front of their sign. I love how this hotel is ideally situated close to the beach. The lobby was really nice especially with the plush sofas and large tables. You could tell that this was a very modern hotel. The bathrooms in the lobby were really nice especially when they provide thick plush paper towels to dry off your hands. The stalls are separate by gender, but the wash area is a common area shared by both genders. The skybar on the rooftop was very nice. There is a small pool on the top floor where you can layout and tan. Please make sure to apply sunblock as my friend was sunburned. Drinks on the rooftop were actually reasonably priced and ample. The skybar was a great place to mingle with friends and make new friends. The rooms screamed posh luxury. Separate shower stall, toilet, and sinks give couples their own space while still being together in the same hotel room. The rooms have a phenomenal view of Sitges. The elevators were a complete disappointment. They were really small and not air conditioned. It was completely unbearable in the elevator due to the heat and smell of chlorine. If it broke down, I would probably have a nervous breakdown or become incapacitated due to the heat. They ought to fix this problem immediately as the rest of the hotel is really nice.

Beautiful hotel and grounds, I was so pleased with my stay that I will defenitly come back and highly reccomend this hotel. It was our 8 year anniversary trip and my partner and I decided to spend one night in Sitges before catching our flight out of Barcelona. We booked a room with a balcony and view and the room was newly renovated. Everything was immaculate and perfect. The balcony and view was the best part of the room, postcard perfect. This room is a must if your staying here. Another highlight is that your only about a 15-20 min walk away from town so location was good. The hotel offers parking at $30 euros a night, however if you drive into the neighborhood from where the main entrance is you will find plenty of free parking. The hotel offers a pool however it was closed when I came in October 2023. On site bar and resteraunt and the room service is actually really good and very cheaply priced if you ask me. The part that won me over is the attention to detail. We told them we were in Spain for our anniversary and they sent up a complimentary bottle of Cava that was actually really delicious. We couldn't have asked for a better last night in Spain and Melia really went above and beyond for us and made it special. Thank you for the kind gesture and great hospitality Melia Sitges, till next time!
