It's at least a 7-minute walk from the station which is not bad. The hotel we wanted to stay at was fully booked and next best thing was Radisson Blu. It's tuck behind the station in a quieter area. As much as I want to find things to hate about this hotel, I just can't because the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We arrived here from 1.5 hour train ride from Zurich, still half-asleep. We were not expecting to be able to check in but they stored our luggage for us. As an introvert, it takes a lot for me to joke around with random people and starting from the front desk, I felt at ease. I was minding my own business checking out their robot butler, Jeeves and the concierge was telling me all about it in a non-annoying way. So, we started joking around and laughing and the front desk crew joined in. What a good first impression! We got upgraded to a bigger room with a view of Lake Luzern. I thought I had already posted pictures from this hotel before deleting them but I'm now realizing I most certainly did not! But the room was very spacious. Plenty of room even with 2 large suitcases, shopping bags, totes, and 2 backpacks. The bed was very comfy. I took well-rested naps in the afternoon and 8 hours of deep sleep at night. They have a decent gym. There's a restaurant at the ground floor to the right of the lobby. A few of elevators. The weather in Switzerland in May can be sunny and cool to cloudy and rainy or just downpour for half a day. I packed a poncho, a rain jacket, and a winter coat for when I go to the mountains. I refuse to bring an umbrella. Some hotels in Switzerland have umbrellas free to their guests, some you have to rent, some don't offer umbrellas at all. So, in my years of travel experience, I learned to be self-reliant and pack what I could need. The toiletries didn't smell bad but it wasn't my favorite. It was generic. Free bottles of water daily not that we needed it because Swiss tap water is the best. It's parallel to a walking path. Some restaurants outside. Close to KKZ. In short, we had a great stay here. It was nice to wake up to a beautiful view daily. There are a couple of reasons why I'm giving them a 4 star review versus a 5. We never received wash cloths the entire time we were there. Is there a shortage of wash cloths? The shower/bathtub doesn't drain very well unless you totally remove the stopper. The duvet cover on the bed doesn't hang over the sides. It's as if it's too small for the size of the bed. Fortunately, the bed was comfortable. I did like the fact that there were 2 pairs of slippers. We had a Nespresso coffee machine in the room. Our housekeeper always had the room cleaned in good time. We never actually saw the housekeeper. There's a robot named Jeeves who can deliver snacks and drinks to your room. Perhaps I should have called Jeeves to deliver some wash cloths. Other than that, it was a good 4 star hotel stay. I think the high Swiss rate is for the location. We couldn't have asked for a better location.

Everything worked well for us, although the shower water would fluctuate erratically between hot and cold, and when we made trips to reception, there were others noting a light or AC wasn't working. We had a good experience though, especially toward the end with the nice room. The staff were all very reasonable and patient. There was free water and available amenities with a refundable cash deposit (hair dryer, adapter, umbrella, etc). The location was good, and everything was clean. Despite the small room size, I'd honestly stay again!

The reviews on yelp are so off- just check trip advisor which I think happens to be more reliable in this case- and you will see this is the #2 hotel in Luzern! It is classy and fancy in an old-school way, and I enjoyed every minute of our stay here! From the moment we pulled up to the hotel, the valet was warm and inviting- helping us with our luggage, asking our names, and making himself at our disposal for whatever we needed. As we walked into the hotel up to the front desk, before I even uttered a hello, I was already being greeted by name!! The check in procedure by Vanessa was wonderful. We were upgraded without asking to a larger room on the first floor with our own private terrace. She walked us through the lobby and showed us the different areas there and then took us up to our room. The room was absolutely perfect! From the welcome note on the table with fruit, to the welcome on the TV, everything was perfect! The room was exceptionally clean and tidy and the views, well just look at the pictures and see for yourselves. As to the location, I thought it was perfect. You're only about a 5-10 min walk from the Old Town, yet far enough from the hordes of tourists that roam the streets with their selfie sticks. The tree lined promenade behind the hotel was our favorite to walk down. You had the perfect view of the lake, the Alps, and the city. This was definitely one of the best hotels we have stayed in in terms of service. Yes it is pricey, but you get what you pay for: an unmatched level of service and sophistication you won't find elsewhere.

My room is comfortable, modernly upgraded with a terrace looking out to the lake, perfect for the Swiss National Day firework event. Like all Leading Hotel of the World property, the hotel staff and everything about the hotel is world class. The promenade outside the hotel is great for a leisure troll or jog.

What a great location!…read more But seriously, it's very beautiful. I was actually surprised how much it reminded me of the Christal restaurant on top of Junghfraujoch. We came here on a weekend for lunch. It was clear that they were pretty busy, but we like waiting, we cool with that. But aaaaare we?! Apparently not, or...not that long. We waited a reallllly looooong time. Our waiter was nice, but come on, he was serving 2 rooms, which is like, 15 tables? or something cray like that? So I don't think it was really his fault. I ordered the soup, and my husband ordered the spätzle, but I guess the waiter assumed we were sharing so he brought the soup first. So we waited a while and realised we better eat it before it get's cold. We didn't have an opportunity to ask him, because he was so busy. Then the spätzle came, which wasn't made properly because the potatoes were still crunchy. So it sort of became one of those lunches where you just feel sort of on edge because you don't really know what's going on and you feel bad for the waiter but you also want to know if your food is coming or if it was forgotten but then you don't want to ask because you don't want your waiter to have a nervous breakdown. That kind of lunch. And then you have to pay for it too. And it was a lot. The soup was good though!
