Great hotel!! Beautiful terrace and great location. Rooms are big and clean! Hotel reception is nice, people were nice, and ready to fix any issues you may have. Our AC wasn't working in our room, and they quickly gave us a new room on a different floor. Had a little dish with candies in the room, chocolates on our pillow when we arrived, and robes and pool towels in our room as well. Room service available at night, which was yummy and affordable!! Highly recommend!!! Biggest plus...when we got in early from our cruise, they allowed us to safely store all our luggage in a locked room by the reception desk til our room was ready. They are pretty strict about on time check-ins, at least do not expect to get your room early. Other than that, we have been very happy with our stay here.

This was, by far, my FAVORITE hotel during our Euro trip! A fantastic boutique hotel; the contemporary decor was right up my alley. I booked through hotels.com and it was a VERY reasonable price! Other than than the fab decor, the second best part is that it's close to everything - restaurants, tourist attractions, and shopping! Everything was walking distance and if we didn't want to walk too far, we took a cab, it was dirt cheap! Rooms are really spacious and once again, I loved the decor! The bed is huge - I literally could roll on it back and forth for days. Also very comfy, including the pillows. Our other travel budds opted for 2 double beds in their room and they were also pretty big. Loved the bathroom, the hair dryer, however, wasn't the best. They don't have a clothes iron in the room - just call the front desk and order one. They are quick, they brought one up within minutes. I just now realized that we didn't get to check out their rooftop - we were just too busy and it slipped our mind. They have a pool which is small, but cute (according to the pics I saw before booking). The staff wasn't the friendliest - honestly, I think they thought we were annoying Americans - mainly, because I asked them a million questions about getting places and one day, one of the front desk clerks stared at me in distaste as I sat in the lobby and took selfies for a good 10 minutes while I waited for my travel buddies. Whatever, I could care less. All I care about is that they were pretty helpful, you don't have to be nice, just help me do what I need to do. They were competent, helped us with our handy little tourist map and gave us suggestions on the best ways to get the places we wanted to go. We walked to Casa Batlló (10 minute walk) and also to several restaurants, but we took cabs to anything that was longer than a 20 minute walk. Very easy to catch a cab on this street. And the amazing part, the cabs are impeccably clean -- God, I LOVE Barcelona! They have FREE WI-FI! No password needed!

This is a great hotel located conveniently close to metro and bus routes. The rooms are spacious (for Europe) with mini-fridge and safe and a large shower. Even though my room was located directly next to the elevator I did not hear any noise from up and down traffic. Most importantly the breakfast buffet is amazing and well worth the cost. The buffet changes slightly every day and always offers eggs, meat and some type of beans or veggies. Also there is always a nice assortment of cheeses, meats and breads to make your own sandwich or to heat up a melted sandwich in the toaster oven (my favorite) . There is also fresh fruits, juices, danish, muffins and croissants. And even champagne - chilled and ready to start your day the right way. After all, it is vacation time! The only downside I found was they did not offer a service for mailing my international postcards. Other hotels did this for me and simply charged my room for the costs incurred. That would have helped and been much easier than trying to find a place to buy postage and then another place to mail. Strangely they would not mail my cards once I found postage. Overall I would stay here again if I did not stay in the older gothic quarter. The pool deck was gorgeous and the staff was exceptional!

We enjoyed staying here on the 9th floor with our little balcony. I included a bottle of cava and a bouquet of flowers with our reservations. Both showed up within 15 minutes of checking in. The flowers were beautiful and lasted five days! The hotel staff was extremely pleasant to deal with. The inside of room was slightly smaller than expected. It was a little difficult to move around because the bed took up most of the space in the room. I would almost sacrifice some of the balcony to open up the hotel room. The bathroom was also cramped. Even the bathroom door wouldn't open up all the way because it would hit the toilet. Breakfast was included with our reservation. The spread was decent. They had scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, cheeses, breads, fruits, cereals, and yogurt. We didn't worry too much if we missed breakfast on those days we slept in. I did take advantage of our espresso maker in the room. I would suggest the same if you visit. Location is good. You can walk to the Sagrada, Rambla, Arc from the hotel and the Metro is a two minute walk. There is also a grocery store two blocks from the hotel if you forget any personal care products or if you want to buy some wine for your balcony. We brought our bathing suits but didn't use them. The pool is smaller than what I remember in the pictures. Instead of getting in the water we ordered a bottle of cava (again) from the service phone. It's a great spot to sit back and sip on some bubbly while reading a magazine or book. But the pool would be crowded if more than 6 people were in it. Last thing, if you want a change from Spanish food there is a GREAT Italian restaurant around the corner. Visit "A Gianni" for a great meal, fresh food and wonderful service.

What a nice hotel! We loved our stay here. We lucked out: we paid for our 6 night stay with frequent flyer miles. Ca-ching! For starters, the staff was super friendly, helpful - and their English was superb. My Spanish is meh...so I was grateful they were fluent and accommodating! Here was a nice touch: they had a few computers available (one with a printer) so you could purchase tickets for tourist sites or even check in for your flight. Loved this idea. AND they made wifi free - it was a super strong connection too. Well done. The room? Spotless and modern. And while no one really spends time watching television on vacation, we had plenty of options for English-speaking channels. It was just...nice. We had the chance to meet another hotel guest while on a tour (coincidence!) who said they served wine with breakfast (we didn't have breakfast here). Sigh...I love traveling through Europe. We did have the chance to order room service a couple times (to avoid the crazy crowds pretty much everywhere we went), and were happy with that. The prices weren't more than we would have paid out and it was still good, Spanish food. I would highly recommend this place!

This is the case were you wish you could've given an extra star! We had a great stay! It was my partner's birthday and I was looking for a nice hotel to celebrate it, before booking I called the hotel and asked if the have a birthday package, they didn't, but they did have the offer of a bottle of wine so I decided it will work well for us. The location is great! Few blocks from Sagrada Famila and few blocks away from placa Cataluña. The metro Is close too. We arrived early so the room wasn't ready for us,but we had a special room to keep the luggage in. The receptionist was very kind and helpful. Later, when we came back we found out they upgraded our room to make us comfortable. They also added a box of chocolates! So kind of them! I had the best opportunity to celebrate my loves birthday with a great room and great view from the porch. Other than that, the receptionists were always available for questions, the room was super clean and equipped with everything we could think of. Next time in Barcelona- only EuroPark! Thanks for a great stay!!

Beautiful, well-appointed building, lobby sitting areas, restaurant, etc. Staff were friendly and very accommodating with bag storage, delivering bags to our room before we returned, restaurant recommendations and more. The rooftop is big with pool, bar and a number of seating areas for a 360 view of the city. Relaxing place to sit with a drink. Spa in basement is nice with all amenities. You have to reserve use and it's capped at 30 mins. Rooms are decent size allowing for suitcases and still moving around room. Bathroom is clean and has everything needed including heated towel rack and bidet. Although robes weren't included we found some at spa we used for the remainder of our trip. Lobby is very spacious and comfy, and there is live music in Thur-Sun. Great place to relax with a drink after exploring all day. Breakfast was extensive and a nice start to each day. Included made to order as well as plenty of ready made options for all palettes. The Not as Good We reserved both a superior and classic room but couldn't tell the difference for an additional 130 euros. The front desk said the superior had "more light." Potentially but not sure that was described as difference for what we paid. The rooms lack power outlets. Nothing by bedside. USB by desk but no USB-C or Int'l plugs. We had phones plugged in behind chairs, tea kettle sitting on floor, laptop in bathroom... The subway is underneath the hotel and even though we're on the 4th floor it was loud with lots of vibration. We had Do Not Disturb on for our entire trip but staff entered regardless and made up room. Not a big deal but surprised us and meant we had to put our belongings away every time we left not knowing who would enter when. Overall it was a pleasant stay and we would come back but many hotels we passed by looked like good options as well.

TLDR: Come for the rooftop views of Barcelona, not so much for the stay…read more While Barceló Raval's rooftop offers one of the best panoramic views of Barcelona, the hotel itself is giving knockoff of the W. They try to give off that sexy, mysterious vibe, but as soon as you step into the room, the green ceiling, cheap fixtures and damask wallpaper give it away. The hotel is reasonably "affordable" for its location (near the Gothic Quarter and La Barceloneta), but definitely in a sketchy area. I highly advise walking outside the hotel at night, as you'll find the rough crowds your parents warned you about. The nearest metro station is about a 10-minute walk, and to get there, you have to cut through some of the sketchiest alleys. I booked through Expedia and was upgraded to a room with a view, a bottle of mini wine & an extra bottle of water. My amenities weren't so great from the moment I opened the door. Since my room was pretty high up, the room was stifling & those views were blocked by a stainless steel mesh. FYI: your room requires a key card at all times if you're trying to use electricity, which includes air conditioning. The shower initially felt luxurious--spacious with a giant waterfall head and solid water pressure--followed by lush bath towels, but that impression faded once I noticed the pockets of mold and grime in the corners. Sleeping was also a challenge since walls are thin and anytime the guests next to me entered their room, it sounded like someone was entering mine, which kept me paranoid and on high alert. Rooftop: the rooftop not only offers panoramic views of Barcelona, but also has a bar and pool, though hard to even suggest the pool is an amenity since it's more so for aesthetic than functionality. On the roof, it's not an open floor plan, so you'll have to walk around the building to get a full 360 view. For those who are height deficient such as myself: prepare for obstructed views because of the high railings (great for safety, but not so much for those under 5'3).

I call concierge - hello, the check-in agent said our luggage would be here?! Concierge: We'll call you back. We cannot locate it. 2 min later - can you identify what your luggage looks like? Me thinking: do I have to do your job? This establishment is a disorganized mess. I describe our luggage details, ask if we need to come down personally and identify, and also mention slyly that our luggage has tags on them with our names- has anyone been savvy enough to try that angle? Luggage is finally found and brought up 15 min later. Meanwhile, our room has a broken bathroom sink (won't drain) and I see that the previous guests left a train of bread crumbs to the floor to ceiling windows that housekeeping failed to vacuum before our arrival. Heebie jeebies city as I am concerned what else might have been overlooked in the guest transition. I try to be cool about it and take another bite of my mile high burger. The second bite contains a lesser sized but still prominent (not able to chew) bone/cartilage. I send it back in exchange for a chicken citing my reasons for returning. Restaurant manager comes to our table, makes a sincere apology. 15 min later my hubby has finished his meal and I'm waiting for my 2nd chance. The manager brings out my chipper chicken saying that my meal this evening was on the house. Fast forward 20 min...bill comes I am still charged for my meal, just not for the first one. Ummmm, sorry is that best practice after you already told me it would be covered by restaurant? I inquire about my dinner line item as I pay and the manager explains that I should be okay, yes, because he charged me for the my replacement instead of both meals served to me. I am irritated beyond, beyond at thus juncture. I pay the bill in a defeated attitude (it was house money after all) however I am appalled and disgusted by this entire experience. Bottom line: clearly this hotel banks off of unassuming tourists. If you're going to go for luxury and pay top dollar - you assume the experience is going to be stellar. I am receiving service that aligns with a two star motel 6. Traveller beware: lodge elsewhere...even if you could use Starwood points and could stay for free- save them for another venue. The hotel is very cute snd colorful, with modern design. The room was clean and pretty spacious, and the balcony was such a nice touch! I liked opening the windows every afternoon and sitting on the chaise and reading. There are refillable water stations on each floor by the elevator, which was a small but big perk to me. Awesome water pressure and temperature, kind, attentive service by staff, and incredible rooftop bar made this a fun place to kick off my stay in Spain. Small gripes: As a short person was the bathroom tub was a bit tall for me to climb into and out of. There was not a true fridge/freezer in the room; the staff was kind enough to store something in their freezer for me but it felt too out of my way to ask them to do it too often for me. The lobby bar drinks were fine but nothing to write home about. Overall though this is such a great hotel and I'd absolutely stay here again. It feels luxe but had very reasonable rates, even right after Easter which is peak tourism. The rooftop bar is very much worth a visit, beautiful views of the city and a fun, lively vibe. The room was spacious and modern. We slept well in their comfortable king bed. We were given slippers and a bathrobe along with the typical amenities like hair dryer, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. There was even a bathroom scale! Something I rarely see in hotel rooms these days. Our package deal included breakfast at their daily buffet. And it's one of the better buffets that actually has a made-to-order-eggs table. I love that there's a personal chef for those who like their eggs a certain way. They had many Spanish cured meats, cheeses, fruits, salads, pastries and bread, cold cereals, yogurts, coconut chia seed pudding, churros and chocolate (though it was not like a churros shop), and even congee, blended smoothies and power green drinks as well as fresh squeezed juices. We were impressed to see a few different items changed on a daily basis to keep the buffet fresh and new. I liked it better than the buffet we had in Madrid, despite it having a better hotel rating. The front desk staff was super helpful when we needed a family metro pass for 8 trips verses getting an unnecessary unlimited pass. That saved us money! She directed us to the metro station up the block and had us buy a family T pass. This was only €12. You would scan and let one person go through first while keeping the pass to scan yourself in. You can scan multiple times because it is for a group and not an individual pass. If I visit Barcelona again, I wouldn't hesitate coming back to Le Méridien! It was perfect for all our needs!

The cobble stones were very, well cobbly; considering that construction on the curbs lining the walkable streets were on-going. Conveniently 30 minutes away from and to the Barcelona airport by way of shuttle. At First Glance: you will find the main entrance to the hotel after making a turn into an alley way. Bell staff are eager to assist with luggage when making way up the marble steps to enter the hotel. The lobby is flanked with a cafe and seating area to the left. Men's and women's restrooms are in the center of the lobby, while to the right sits the front desk/concierge/bell desk and to the far right are the guest elevators and hotel restaurant. I found that the design of the lobby is reminiscent of; can I say classic French (think - semi translucent glass, red oak, black finishes, and velvet furniture). The Welcome: the registration agents were quite cheerful. It was roughly 11am and I was fully aware and prepared to hear that our room was not ready. The agent assured that I'll get a call as soon as my room is ready. Our luggage was collected, stowed, and distilled waters were provided to us for the long day ahead. We received a call back with the hour, though we did not return until later in the evening. The Room: the same design language seen in the lobby is carried out through into the guest room. A small balcony, while doesn't seem to allow a single person to walk onto, it does open to provide fresh air. My only caveat for the room was that the glass door to the bathroom wouldn't close entirely but that the room was spacious, clean and functional. While our room was assigned to the 2nd floor (3rd floor in actuality) we did not hear too much street noise. Having traveled for 18+ hours and being extremely tired; being able to sleep in a comfortable bed was much needed. The Next Morning: as a Bonvoy Platinum member; I opted in receiving buffet breakfast for 2 in lieu of welcome points. European hotel breakfast hits differently in comparison to those enjoyed in the United States; variety being the biggest draw. I came into the restaurant with my eyes wide open and scouring all of the hot stations. Everything offered was absolutely delicious. There cherry on the top; a mimosa station - a game changer. We bided adieu to our one night stay at this Le Meridien hotel, thankful for a full nights rest and looking forward to a future stay whenever that may be.

Stayed for 3 nights. Ideally located in Gothic area so very central to everything. Most place we…read moreneeded to go were within a 20 min walk. Slightly inconvenient for taxis. Since it's in the narrow alleys of Gothic, arriving at the front door via taxi is difficult, especially if the streets are very crowded. However, it's pretty easy to walk to from the main street if you're OK with walking about five minutes. When we left for the airport, we were able to coordinate a taxi pick up with the front desk. Fortunately, it was also a sunday, so the streets were very empty. It took about 15 minutes for the taxi to arrive, but it was easy to get out of the narrow streets. The hotel itself is nice. Check-in is on the mezzanine level. Our room wasn't ready, but they were able to store our bags. We grabbed lunch at the rooftop restaurant and the food was objectively decent. The main draw of the rooftop restaurant is the incredible view where you can see all of Barcelona and the towering cathedrals. Service was friendly. On a different day, we tried there spritz hour, which seemed to be marketed as two spritzes for €12. However, we each got charged €12 which I think was the price on the menu anyway so I don't know what happened there. The hotel room was cozy. Bed was very comfortable. The layout was a bit odd if you imagine that the room is a U-shape, the bed is the bottom of the U, which makes sense. However the bathroom was split up with the toilet on the right side and the sink and shower on the left side so after you use the bathroom, you would have to walk to the other side of the hotel room to wash your hands. It's not like the room is big, but it's just kind of odd for layout, especially if like luggage is dispersed across the room and you have to walk through all that.

I've always loved Kimpton properties and had wanted to stay at this location since it opened. I…read morefinally had the chance for one night. Arrival & Parking This hotel is very difficult to reach by car. I wouldn't recommend driving or trying to park nearby. The hotel suggested a parking garage by the Cathedral, which offered a hotel rate of €40. While helpful, it still meant hauling large bags through crowded, sometimes sketchy Gothic Quarter streets--and getting lost along the way. Leaving in the early morning was easier thanks to clear directions and fewer crowds. Location The setting is both a plus and a drawback. You can walk to nearly everything, but evenings bring heavy crowds, street noise, and safety concerns. Even with doors closed, the noise from motorcycles and parties made it hard to sleep. Check-In & Amenities Check-in was slow, partly due to a large birthday group arriving at the same time. The cava offered while waiting was a nice touch. The hotel has typical Kimpton perks, like the evening social hour (wine from 6-7 p.m. in the restaurant), but the space was cramped with little room to sit or mingle. Room We stayed in a corner king with Juliet balconies overlooking two streets. The layout, however, was awkward. The toilet was located in a small closet near the entry, while the sink and shower were across the room--an inconvenient and unappealing setup. Both bathroom areas were very small. That said, the toiletries were excellent, the robes stylish (though unbranded), and the bed comfortable. Based on photos, other rooms appear to have better layouts. Rooftop The rooftop pool area was attractive but limited, with only about eight loungers. After waiting, we found two. The pool was unheated and very cold, though thankfully small enough that no one tried to swim. The views were nice but included some rundown rooftops. We enjoyed smoothies and tapas--especially the patatas bravas, which were fantastic. Unfortunately, the main restaurant had few vegan options, so we dined elsewhere. Breakfast & Service As an IHG Diamond member, I could have selected breakfast, but it didn't start until 7:30 and we had to leave earlier. The staff kindly prepared takeaway bags with pastries, fruit, and a sandwich, which was much appreciated. I later learned the hotel offers yoga and a spa, though none of this was mentioned at check-in--likely because the staff was so busy during our brief stay. Overall A stylish Kimpton property with standout service touches and a great location for exploring on foot, but the noise, room layout, and parking challenges keep it from being as seamless as other Kimpton experiences I've had.

From the moment we arrived and until we departed, we were treated graciously by every member of the staff. The staff at the front were all terrific, especially Santiago who somehow remembered so many things about us. I wish I remembered everyone's names so I could call them out individually, but every single one was just great! Our room was very comfortable and we felt at home during our stay. Our room faced towards the water and we enjoyed the views whenever we were there. We were celebrating our first wedding anniversary and were given a nice treat and note welcoming and congratulating us. So thoughful! We took advantage of the breakfast every morning, which had a nice selection of cooked entrees and buffet items. Sandra was wonderful and she not only had us starting the day with a tasty breakfast, but also put smiles on our faces every day we saw her. We are so glad were we able to see her on our last day to say our "so longs." Last, the location of the Serras was perfect for us. With a week to explore Barcelona, we felt it was the perfect location for us to start each adventure! I can't recommend The Serras enough to anyone looking for a special stay and experience in Barcelona. Our next trip to Barcelona will definitely see us staying at The Serras.
