What is made this stay even more enjoyable is the team here. Everyone has been kind and accommodating. Emanuela who works the front desk went out of her way to ensure we had a great stay! Giulia was always onsite in the morning and offered guidance and helpful tips during our stay in Cinque Terre. The hotel building and rooms were recently renovated and contained new fixtures and modern conveniences compared to the other establishments in the area. All of the rooms have AC (air conditioning) and window screens, so you don't have to worry about any critters getting in when opening a window. Everyday there was a full breakfasts offered on the rooftop sundeck with a gorgeous view of the water, and Giulia made fresh croissants daily as well. The area was safe and located right in the midst of a few private vineyards. I wish I took more photos, this hotel was definitely Hyatt status ... if you know you know.

This breakfast topped all the 5 star hotels we visited in Europe. You eat breakfast on the terrace overlooking the sea and the water polo pool next door. While you eat you eat the bells chime from at least 4 local churches and it's one of the most beautiful symphonies I've ever heard! Our room had a patio overlooking the sea and it had room for two chaise lounges and a table with two chairs. Recco is a sleepy old beach town where locals summer it was wonderful. We paddleboarded took the boat across the way to several locations and loved every moment. Enjoy this quaint hotel we loved it.

It literally takes us a 5-10min walk to get down to the bottom beach area and a few seconds to get to shops in town. Andrea, the owner/host, was fantastic! He was nice and greeted us daily as we left and came back. He gave us useful hints on where to eat, places to see, and options to exploring all the towns of cinque terre. The maid was sweet and super nice as well - she's been working here for 15+ years. That's some local service for you. It's also conveniently located next to a market and laundromat! The rooms were on the smaller side but the beds comfortable and there's some crazy black out shutters making it easy to catch up on zzzz's! The wifi worked well and even though the bathroom was super tiny, the water pressure was strong and fantastic. Just requires a bit of maneuvering to put stuff in there cause there is zero counter space. There is a tiny fridge, a closet, and hair dryer, etc. Great place, great location. AC doesn't work though so it was a bit muggy and hot and we didn't want to open the windows cause the mosquitoes are so bad!

What really made our stay was Andrea, the extremely friendly and helpful owner. We ended up staying at this lovely hotel in cute Levanto, one short train stop from Monterosso. The hotel is close to the train depot, but they also offer parking for $18 per night in a nearby garage (most hotels we looked at charge more, fwiw). It's right in the middle of the town's "centro," near great restaurants, several yummy "foccacerie," a cute park where kids play in the evening and people stroll about, and a block and a half from the beach. The rooms are spacious, high-ceilinged, air-conditioned, well-maintained and -furnished. The included breakfast was good and filling, the wifi strong and fast, if that's your thing. They rent bikes for next to nothing, and you can easily bike to beautiful Bonnasola, a nearby beach town with sparkling water and even fewer people (since trains don't run there), or Monterosso. In the past we'd stayed at four-star hotels that really should have been designated three-star; in this case, it was the opposite. We had a near-perfect stay at the Hotel Nazionale and will surely return.

The hotel is very lovely. Situated on top of a hill, it was quite easy to find, even with the fact that our navigation did not recognize the address. Keep in mind that it is quite a walk up the hill if you are trying to get back from the town. They do offer a free shuttle service, which is awesome, however, it only runs a few times at night. We were stuck with over an hour left to go and ended up taking a paid shuttle (20 euro). The room was tiny, surprising so, but very comfortable. Very updated. Shower and bathroom were also very updated and just great! I haven't spoken with the owners much but they seemed like lovely people. They even served the breakfast, which had one of the best selections from any hotel we stayed at while in Italy. Make sure you arrive in time. The check-in ends at 7:30pm. I emailed with the owner to say we would be arriving around 8pm, which was not a problem with him. We arrived at 8:10pm to find the gates closed. The doorbell at the gate was connected to a random fax machine and would not work. We were lucky to see an American couple with a cell phone. After frantic 15 minutes trying to get anyone on the phone and being constantly transferred to random people we were finally told to go to the gate. After standing at the gate for another 20 minutes, my husband finally climbed the fence. He found an attendant at the desk completely clueless. It was very random and very frustrating. So make sure you arrive on time!

The location is convenient with several restaurants next door and across the street. If you drive, parking can be expensive, but I think the prices would be similar at any of the hotels in the area. This place is also popular. When we arrived they were sold out. Luckily we had booked online. This place is also very secure. You are given a key to get you into all the doors that you will need to go through to get to your room. Now about the room, if you like fresh air, you are able to open the window, but there is also air conditioning. The room size was nice especially if you compare this to other hotels in Europe. The bed was comfortable, there was a closet for your clothes and a mini fridge. Also the staff was very friendly amd took extra time to show us how to work the doors etc. I would definitely stay here again.
