Two nights here, it is quite good. I do not have status with the IHG chain but I had booked direct so we were put in a twin bed room on the first floor facing the street. Despite that, there wasn't too much street noise and the balcony overlooking the main roadway was nice to sit on for a bit. The hotel does not have its own parking and instead contracts with a parking deck about 20 meters further along that charges a pretty hefty €25 per day. The room was clean and comfortable. We did not put out the do-not-disturb and so the room was refreshed while we were out sightseeing. Coffee service, fresh towels and the beds were made. They did a good job. Breakfast in the -1 level was very good though I don't know that it was €15 per day good. It's only €10 if you book it when you make the reservation. Typical European continental breakfast with eggs, bacon, breads for toasting, lots of pastries, fresh fruit, cereals, sliced ham and turkey and cheese, etc. Coffee is made to order and I was able to put away a pretty decent sized pot of Americano while waiting for my travel mate to wake up, up stairs. The hotel is not quite centrally located but there are restaurants nearby and the Verona Arena is only a mile away down the well traveled boulevard. Bathroom consisted of full sized shower and separate bathtub with television so you can soak and relax. Front desk attendants were friendly and extremely helpful. I found the easiest way to get here from the train station was by taxi ($10 euro inc tip). Google Maps transit guide cannot be trusted. Buses with route numbers greater than 100 do not stop in Verona as suggested by Google. The bus shelter is confusing to a first timer. Not sure when to stand at island B1 or B2. I got on the 51 which listed the correct direction stop on its board only to find that it meant where it was coming from, not going. Not sure why I care where it's been but after 3 stops I knew it was definitely going the opposite way that I was supposed to be. The walk may be 15 minutes but it's uneven surfaces and across a major roundabout intersection. In short, spend the ten.

You get a lot of nice snacks for free with any drinks. Even though it's right in old town, it's not too inaccessible for taxis and cars. The Villa itself looks historical and surreal. The property is very big and will take your breath away-beautiful flowers, lash grass, old trees-all surrounded by old little buildings, structures, ponds and statues. The location is perfect- right on the lake with it's own jetty and beach. The hotel has several bars and restaurants. We tried them all and both the decor and the food were absolutely the best. The complimentary breakfast buffet had the true five star selection-berries and tropical fruit, large selection of honey, cheeses, yoghurt and dozens of freshly baked pastries; not to mention the delicious coffee. The lunches and dinners were expectedly pricey but also very delicious. The room overlooked the lake and you could also see the Sirmion Castle towers. The customer service was top notch. The private parking was very convenient and they provided shuttle service into town or throughout the property. We will definitely be back.

Christian, the late night front desk man, spoke fluent English and made us feel at ease. He booked us the last room available, poured us a glass of wine and welcomed us to our room. Our eyes lit up as we walked through the immaculate hotel with patios, gardens, and the pleasant sound of birds chirping. This happened just before midnight and I could not have felt more welcome. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the room was spacious and the bathrooms came equipped with a shower and tub. The wifi is super fast and the breakfast is AMAZING and hands down the best and most options of any hotel breakfast I've ever had. All included! Luckily for us the rental agency picked up the tab but knowing what we know now-- I would not hesitate for a second to book a room here. We stayed in #54 which I believe was a suite. Right near the train station, rooftop patio with a lake view and the friendliest staff you could possibly imagine. I love this place.

Piccola Vela was supposed to be booked up due to an event, but by some divine grace, one guest never showed and a room became available. Piccola Vela and its staff saved my birthday experience. This is the kind of hotel where everyone knows your name and goes out of their way to make sure you're accommodated. The breakfast was huge and the food was so delicious. They had everything you could hope for in a breakfast and more... The scrambled eggs were probably the best I've ever had, there was fresh fruit, muesli, pastries, all kinds of coffee / cappucinos / teas, a huge selection of very high-quality honey... I could seriously go on and on. They brought out nuts and crackers while we lounged by the pool and brought a cheese and olive plate when we ordered wine. The alcohol was surprisingly cheap for this caliber hotel. We never ordered dinner, but from what we saw and heard, their restaurant is also amazing. The atmosphere is also awesome. Everything is pretty much as advertised and/or expected: lake view room actually has the lake view, beds are pretty good (on the firmer side), breakfast is also good, in the evening the on-premises restaurant serves robust if uninspiring dinner. I did not try the spa. Some logistics: 1) To reach the hotel, you will have to drive through a maze of very narrow and winding streets, this course is gated with the guard checking your name against the hotel guest list. While driving, few times you will wish that you car is smaller and shorter; a good navigator will come especially handy, as some streets are one-way or impassable for cars - but not clearly marked as such. Red/green traffic lights mark the (short) one-way passages, at night the lights blink yellow allowing to cautiously proceed. Getting out of the hotel in a car will take up to 15 minutes to the nearest major road, depending on the tourist crowds that share the streets with you, and will not be possible at all during the daytime on weekends. Couple this with the limited parking at the hotel and the choice of walking becomes very enticing. 2) At the breakfast time, be assertive with the waiters in order to get your coffee/tea in a reasonable amount of time.

The lounge seats are so comfortable and I frequently saw the staff fluff up the cushions whenever someone leaves. The bar area is also a very cozy area to park yourself and enjoy a cocktail. There are several "study" areas with chairs and tables which played well with their name of the "Accademia". The hotel room itself was also very cozy and comfortable. Nicely sized room and bathroom to fit my luggage in the room and toiletries on the bathroom counter without feeling cramped.

The exemplary customer service was consistent throughout our stay and continued until our luggage was loaded back into our car. The hotel is light and airy and is located in the most perfect location--within walking distance to the promenade and beaches. The breakfast is outstanding. The restaurant at the hotel is excellent and is one of few that we found to have good vegan options for my daughter. We now find ourselves telling one another that we wish we were back at the Hotel Bellerive.
