With the S bahn, it took around 20 mins to get to the Hamburg Hauptbahnhof. The hotel actually lies in Harburg. One of the small town new by Hamburg. I didn't really have time to explore this town. But it seems like a really peaceful. There is a shopping street there as well, 5 mins on foot from the hotel. The hotel itself also have bus service. So now let's talk about the hotel itself. my partner booked the hotel because of the promotion. We were just staying in Hamburg for a short period. The room we had was ok. compared with the price we paid wasn't bad. there were certainly couple things need to improved. the tv was a bit too small, the minibar could offer more different stuff... I do like too the view we had in our room. The breakfast is one of the part I really like. The service was super, very friendly. The food was really good. But it could nicer if they got more different options. We also tried the bar, just for couple drinks. The place is ok. Maybe is bit more for the elder. The hotel gave us a voucher to try it out, quite nice. At the end, I found too hehe hotel was nice. My staying here was no bad. But for the people under 40 years old, it did lack of some entertainment.

The restaurant is spacious yet cozy with lots of wood, a typical "village tavern" for the area. Parking was no problem at all. The menu featured many typical dishes like deer, all kinds of asparagus dishes and typical "Schnitzels". Except for a few "snack" dishes all dishes come with the soup of the day and dessert. All dishes are also available in "small portions" for a few Euros less. Prices are more than fair, same for beverage prices. We ordered Jägerschnitzel and Rahmschnitzel. Soup of the day was a delicious creamy mushroom soup, which contained lots of real mushrooms. Really good! Then the main course arrived. Everything was delicious, and the portions are more than generous! One of the best Schnitzels I've ever had. Finally the dessert, ice cream with homemade strawberry preserve and whipped cream. Real whipped cream! Simple, yet amazing! Bottomline: great place for authentic, traditional German food at great prices. What's missing for a fifth star? The ambience is a bit simple, the menu could have a few more choices if you don't like deer, asparagus and fish, there are few choices left.

The room categories we took were very pleasant and spacious . The Hotel had a congenial place in the lounge to drink and have some snacks. There were a number of other restaurants . This is an independent Hotel , not part of a chain. It has French names (but dont try French here - no one speaks it )

It's owned by the Block group that also own the Block steakhouse around the place. It's a nice building and the rooms are nice. It's a no extras kind of place and the luxury is lacking for the price you pay here. I refer to it is as frugal luxury. We had booked a suite and it came with just enough towels, two apples and a bottle of water each day. Nothing more and not including breakfast or any of the nice touches you see in hotels at this price range. Same way the pool and spa were nice but once again lacking the real luxury touch and feel. From a value for money point of view this place scores pretty low for me. There are many hotels at this level in Germany that offer way more luxury for the price you pay. For the money you spend here I wouldn't come back again. There are better options around. It is however a nice hotel with decent service.

Excellent breakfast - the orange juice so fresh, I could tell it had just been squeezed. Breakfast was very good but pales in comparison to the Majestic hotel in Barcelona and the Raffles hotel in Beijing. The food choices are not as numerous and the area around the breakfast buffet very crowded in the morning. The hotel needs to relocate the breakfast buffet to a larger area. The hotel is considered the best hotel in Hamburg but its breakfast buffet is not at the 5 star level. Coffee was disappointing. You could get a better cup at the Tschibo (not sure of spelling) near the town hall. The cappuccino was excellent. One employee at the front desk was rude to me but all the rest of the staff was great. I will return. Edit - I forgot to mention that the wifi is unsecured. I can't understand why a 5 star hotel would offer wifi that is not secured. Also the business center computer does not have Microsoft word read capability.
