The hotel offers 24/7 room service which I planned on taking advantage of with a long day of sight seeing. At check in I didn't receive any VIP benefits like a complimentary breakfast or room upgrade which was the first disappointment but was nothing compared to their customer service. I tried calling room service at 10:30 pm, it rang for about 5 minutes but nobody answered. I called reception at 11 pm to see if they could help connect me or provide another extension, to which they responded that the kitchen was busy and they would call me back shortly. I waited 15 minutes then I walked down to the hotel restaurant where they told me it was closed but Fernando would take my order and have it sent to my room. An hour goes by so I called to check on my order, they said it was on its way. Another half hour until a server arrives to deliver a tray, and he drops it off and quickly leaves without opening the food cover. I lift the cover to find that it isn't what I ordered, so I call down to room service but they don't answer so I call the front desk. They advised the food I ordered was all out so they brought me something else and that the salad descriptions needed to be expanded upon. They showed no respect or common sense to call me to let me know that I would need to select another entree or that the word "salad" doesn't best describe the dish. I speak Spanish, I read the description in both languages so I am totally perplexed by their poor food description. They finally offered to make me something else, but I said I wasn't going to wait another hour and a half for food. They still charged me for the dinner after all of that. I contacted the hotel who offered to make accommodations for me the next time I visit instead of fixing things here and now. I obviously don't have any plans to return to Córdoba in the near future.

Amazing hotel. I don't know where to start. The service especially was great. The rooms are like…read morelavishly furnished apartments- and ours opened onto the pool. Actually it might be larger than our apartment in New York. The bathrooms are fantastic. It was the little details that make the hotel really special, on arrival, they offer you water flavored with whatever fresh fruit they have that day; when you enter the room there are delicious little sponge cakes waiting on the table. When we first arrived, they asked if we wanted a tour of the hotel. I now understand why, there are so many beautiful features for example, there is glass floor in the dining room with an archaeological dig below. The pool is surrounded by orange trees and it is extremely relaxing to sip sangria there. My only complaint was the the room was extremely hot at night (it was summer) and the bed was hard (which was the same in all hotels we stayed in in Spain). The food at the pool was also terrible so I recommend eating elsewhere - plus the service at the pool was really spotty.

As a photographer, I asked once for permission to snap pixs of the alignment of five planets. I did it three mornings in a roll, going through the hotel with permission at 2-3am and staying till sunrise. Really! Just be courteous and respectful of the property. The room was beautiful and had a cute little balcony with a view of the castle that's 2 min away. The staff was friendly and very helpful and the restaurant was open from 1900-2300 Every store is pretty much closed during the day and they all open up around 1800 so be prepared for that. The locals were really helpful with giving directions but why have a map when you can literally walk the streets with a beer and explore ! I cannot wait to go back !

When we arrived we got a free upgrade to a suite and there was a bottle of complementary champagne waiting for us in the room. Great service! The bathroom was huge! Biggest bathroom I have ever seen.
