It may be a bit isolated, but panoramic views typically require such logistics. But that shouldn't matter. There are several restaurant choices inside. The Havana Deck is a great bar/lounge. There are outdoor spaces to dine and relax. A few things to note, you will pay a fairly high price for this experience. It's a 38 Franc cheeseburger. Is the cheeseburger worth 38 Franc's? Also, no, it's good, it's delicious, it's pretty overpriced. As of the writing of this review, 38 Francs is about $48 USD. But breakfast is included in your stay so, assume you would have paid half of that for breakfast and we're back to even. I've stayed at the Parco 4 or 5 times now. I know the secret pathway from the Paradisio train station up to hotel - this is a must to know if you're traveling by train. Otherwise, you have a long, winding walk to the train station. Go down the the lowest level, hand a left out the stairs, and then exit into a cement stairwell. Walk up that short flight, then walk along the cement sidewalk and slippery wet steps until you can see the train station. Do not fail to take this advice. Walking on the street is a 20-minute effort, the path is 3-minutes max. Sometimes in the morning, on a weekday around 7am, when a large number of guests are getting ready for their workday, the shower will slightly fluctuate from the perfect temperature to slightly too hot, then slightly too cold. But the water pressure is amazing, the towels are always fresh and hung right by the shower, and a quick chill is something people have experienced in Switzerland for quite some time.

Very good location. 1 stop from the Lugano Center by bus or train. It comes every 15 minutes, we never waited longer. Also you can have a short walk to the funicular that goes to Mount Salvatore ( for that one you have to pay even with Ticino card). First of all - if you come with big luggage like us - take taxi! One can't rely on public transport because you will have to climb the stairs (approx. 10 floors) and then you come trough the back of hotel were you don't have access without a room key. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived so we went to town and when we came back from the back door we didn't had key and intercom didn't work either. Had to call hotel with a cellphone to open door for us. Rooms are very clean and spacious. We got upgraded to the suit and we had nice panoramic lake of Lugano view. But one can't enjoy patio too much because mosquitos are very brutal there. When we got to our room we had complementary bottle of champagne and greeting card. It was so sweet and welcoming. Our suite room had a complementary coffee and tea. But however water wasn't included. First evening we ran out of water and we went to get water and receptionist sent us to the hotel bar at Cuban place where they sold us Fiji water bottle for 10 francs!! While I discovered later there was a water in mini bar ( inside of the fridge) at the hotel room for half a price. Its funny because when we came to the receptionist the guy ask the same question and she sent both of us to the bar. It kind of disappointed me because 10 franc for water its more than we paid at Michelin Star Restaurant. Also they have water jar in the lobby but only during day time! Next day I just went to refill my bottle there. Hotel has good premises - I enjoyed my time at the pool, sauna and steam room. They also have small gym as well. And few restaurants. cuban bar was very nice with little options for snacks which was perfect because we didn't want to have a big meal that was at main restaurant. Cuban bar has a very nice view of Lugano and great cocktails. We spent there at least 3 evenings enjoying a great view. I highly recommend their salmon gravlax and tartar both were amazing. Also we tried their tasty burgers and they were nice to split it for us. We didn't had breakfast included but last day we were leaving for Milan and decided to take a breakfast which was 35 franc per person. I think it's very expensive for very simple buffet style breakfast. We just had an omelet and coffee each. Another bonus was Ticino card - ASK FOR IT!!! We didn't had to pay for for public transport in Ticino area and we went to Fox town, Lugano center, and funiculars for free! In general - good hotel and decent price with nice pool and restaurants on site. Nice steam room & sauna to relax. And very attentive service. They even left us complementary Swiss dessert day before we check-out to thank us for choosing them. I highly recommend this place and we will definitely consider when we come back!

Complementary beverage while checking in and awaiting bags to be delivered to our room. Our room had a wonderful view and was nice and spacious. We loved the amenities the hotel had to offer. Outside the pool area is wonderful with a breathtaking view of the lake. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub and used it daily. We also enjoyed lunch by the pool and many spritz's from the pool bar. Be warned, the pool is not heated if you are there in the spring time! The staff were so nice and always greeted us when we returned the next day. The spa is also incredible, with many free to use experiences such as an ice room, salt room, sauna and more! We also loved breakfast every morning at the hotel with the incredible view. Another wonderful part of this hotel is the location. It is less than a 10 minute walk down to the city center and I would prefer to stay here for the view over a hotel near the lake in town. Don't let the four stars deceive you, because this is a five-star accommodation all the way! The views of Lake Como are stunning on the eastern slope of this unnamed peninsula that pierces the lake like an arrow, especially from the outdoor deck above the pool. The rooms are so elegant and modern, the rain showers are huge, and the views from our massive patio in the Junior Suite were breathtaking. Cascading down the hill on the hotel property are numerous plateaus of well manicured lawns, sculpted bushes, and beautiful flowers. You're in close proximity to the action of bustling downtown Bellagio, but secluded just far enough for total peace and quiet at the hotel. Situated in the shadow of a hill just to the north owned by The Rockefeller Foundation, with the mountainous terrain as a buffer between the town center and this lovely property, the serenity makes you feel far from the city that's a mere 5-minute walk away. It is the optimal location in Bellagio! The spa is extensive, a facility at which we took full advantage of a thorough, hour-long massage that vastly improves circulation. The staff is incredibly courteous and well trained. But it's many of the little things they do at Hotel Belvedere that make it such a great place to stay. To offer several examples, the luxurious array of body washes and lotions are noteworthy, the larger trashcans without lids uncommon in most hotel rooms are much easier to navigate, the breakfast is one of the best we've ever had, and the room service food is so good you might want to have your nightly dinners in your room. While breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m., we had to depart at 7:00 on the final morning to catch a ferry. So the staff composed four takeout boxes for the two of us with a wonderful selection of breakfast foods. It was kindness that goes above and beyond. Of our 46 years of international travel, this is the ultimate hotel for us!

Modern finishes and updated compared to other options in the area. Views from the room we had were also very nice, especially at sunset. It was great for our family that this room we booked had 2 bathrooms and a pullout bed, though the pullout bed was very hard and not very comfortable. We appreciated some of the complimentary gifts provided due to our Hilton status. Where the service slipped, was at the pool and rooftop area. On our second to last day, 2 of us decided to head to the pool around 3pm. It was busy and there were not any spots to sit/lay down. Many chairs had towels and belongings left on them where people had either left to go into the pool or left to their room to come back later or potentially not at all. We waited for some assistance near the bar area and eventually, some other guests arrived, trying to scope out spots as well. After about 15 minutes, I approached one of the guys walking around and asked if there were any spots available. He talked with one of his partners and they walked around a bit and said everything is taken (no kidding). I asked if any of the spots were just towels people left and they were done for the day and he claimed it's impossible to know. He then said to wait off to the side and he'd get us a chair to place our things so we could go in the pool. We stood off to the side (in the hot sun) for about 20 min and he never brought us the chair. We watched him walk around doing other things avoiding eye contact with us. Yet, his colleague helped another couple who arrived after us get a spot. We decided enough is enough and left. The staff need to do a much better job cleaning spots off when people leave and actually follow-through on their work. Additionally, there should be time limits so that someone cannot claim a lounge chair in the morning and use it all day long so that no one else can use the pool. There's limited space to begin with so something should be done. Additionally, the pool closed at 6PM which I think is very early and pretty unreasonable. I'm assuming this is because they do not want the noise or inconvenience for their restaurant but still. The restaurant is a whole other experience, but overall, poor food quality, slow, and overpriced. Overall, if visiting Como again, I would likely choose another place to stay as this location could use some improvements to quality of service and overall value when looking at your nightly price.

With all of that, there was still enough room left on the balcony for my morning workout. The grounds are beautiful. And the hotel continues its use of greenery on the balconies to separate areas for each suite. All done tastefully and the plants are all in very good condition. The breakfast buffet is fantastic. An assortment of croissants, made to order omelets, cereal, yoghurts, fruit, excellent cheeses, meats . . . It goes on and on. The staff were quite lovely and extremely helpful. In truth, I was prepared for a bit of pushback when my wife and I showed up - we are gay. Not even a blink of an eye from anyone. Unfortunately, these days that is a welcome relief. And the spa - out of this world! Massages, lovely jacuzzi/hot tub, Finnish sauna, Turkish bath and more. If you are a guest the hotel there is a small fee for the use of the spa. The pool is lovely. It sits right next to lake Como. Jumping in was easy, if you have the stamina for cold water. There is a small cafe at the pool with food and drinks. The staff brings your order out to wherever you are sitting. The village of Maltrasio is filled with beauty and lovely people. The hotel is on the shore and the village goes up the hill. I would say the big reason our review is getting a three is because almost every employee we encountered could use some training in customer service. They have a certain way of doing things at this hotel which is fine, but much better received when said with a smile, especially when the answer to your question is no. Usually in a four or five star property the staff try to accommodate guests. We didn't find that to be the case during our stay and would have enjoyed the no's and our stay there more had there been more yes's and the no's at least presented with a smile. Also the massage from the spa was not good, I paid extra for a deep tissue massage, it was like a pressure point massage not enjoyable. And the sheets and towels on property are hard and scratchy not soft as you would expect at a nice hotel such as this one. It's also strange that you cannot get two keys for your room, another no.
