Excellent location & superb staff - wonderfully helpful when issues occur. Right across from the beach with a roof top pool which has an incredible view. In the restaurant the caipirinha was fantastic! read more

Old, but ok, but not for that price…read more It's clear that you should not expect the same quality of a Mercure hotel here, compared to central Europe. Nevertheless, I was still a bit disappointed. The hotel seems quite old, especially the bathroom. Furthermore the windows do not seal well, so you hear the noise from outside/street. This is of course typical for Brazil. I had the superior room, which has a kitchenette and a sofa. Sadly, there were no plates or cutlery to use, not even a coffee maker, although it is shown in photos. The fridge is inconveniently placed behind a sliding door, which scratches the floor each time they get moved. There was also no safe in the room. The room had a new air condition which worked great and silently. The location of the hotel is good/great. It's on the second parallel street to the beach, right in the middle of Boa Viagem. The side ocean view is a small gap between two other houses, so don't get excited. Unfortunately the hotel has no gym and the pool was/is under construction and therefore not usable. Some hotel search engines still list it to have a pool, so double check. To my fault I did not verify it, and there is no chance to move your stay to the other Mercure hotel once you arrived. But they offered that you can use the other hotel's pool (10min walk) The staff at reception was nice and helpful and spoke english well. The breakfast is fine. Selection is ok and on the plus side you can order ready made omelets or tapiocas and they have a Nespresso cafe machine. But I would not have paid the 30R for it, if it would not have been included. The TV channels are mostly in Portuguese. The Internet connection is free, but had some serious issues (connection failures) while I was there. So overall it's an ok hotel, but for the price I paid I would go to a better one next time.

There was always someone at the front desk who spoke enough English (since we spoke little Portuguese) to answer any questions we had. There were very little English reviews on yelp or trip advisor when we planned our trip and had little to go off of - that's primarily why I wanted to leave a review. Anyways, I would highly recommend this hotel to any family or friends wanting to stay in the Recife area. They had great views of the beach and new comfortable accommodations in the room. There was free valet for the car( but we did tip). The hotel is right across the street from the beach and they have a complementary breakfast buffet which I still dream about! Note: The golden tulip in located further south that posted on this yelp map- but is still in a perfect location.

The location of this hotel is great…read more It's right on the beach in Boa Viagem, which is one of the prettiest parts of the city of Recife. There are many restaurants nearby, as well as shopping and sight-seeing. The hotel has 29 floors with about 130 rooms (some apartments in the hotel are still occupied by owners who were there before this became a Radisson). There were many American & European tourists at this hotel, probably because of the Radisson brand. We stayed in a business king room and while the bed was very comfortable (with a beautiful view of the beach below), the room itself was rather Spartan. I've stayed at other hotels here in Recife that charged less and were more opulently decorated. Also, there were no robes provided in the room and I had to remind them on check-out so as not to charge me for them. For the size of this hotel, the swimming pool was tiny. There is on-site parking available at a fee. Breakfast was included and was simply OK. Thanks to all the hotel employees who excelled at making this a pleasant stay (sorry I forgot their names).

Cheap valet parking was great too. It was located in a perfect spot and 10 minutes away from the airport. The food selection was very wide and vast. It wasn't the most high end Raddison but for the area it was top notch. Even though i only stayed 2 nights, if i could i would most definitely stayed longer. The WiFi was very good. The elevator was very fun because it was like a tunnel and it had a glass window. my only complaint was that one elevator didn't work going up but that was minor. I loved it here. I stayed in room 2308 from july 5-7.
