Maybe the best customer service experience I have ever had. The employees were so kind, polite and helpful. The free breakfast felt almost unfair to not pay for. read more

I'm the first review in English so don't want to be the one to bring everyone down about the Hotel…read morePark Laurin... but it may only deserve 4.632 stars, and here's why. -No coffee before 7AM. Is wanting an early morning coffee an American thing? I want to get up at five, have some coffee and go down to the gym before the day starts. Maybe a little coffee maker in the room even? -The hotel gym, while beautifully situated in this cool little converted room/free standing outbuilding deeper on the grounds, consisted of two or three cardio machines. No free weights, no weight machines. -the Restaurant Park Laurin (again, in a BEAUTIFUL environment under a canopy on the grounds) was good but not great. -The lobby was pretty sweltering when we first entered. (in June) But enough minor complaints. Overall, the place was pretty awesome. Just old-school enough, very charming, spacious rooms, amazing grounds to walk around (see pix), all the staff were great, deluxe breakfast buffet. The cocktail we had on the Laurin Bar patio overlooking the lush, green grounds made for one of the best moments of the 4 days in Bolzano.

The breakfast is good and it seems that the cafe is a favorite of the locals at night. If you expect fancy, don't even bother. Also, the woman who runs the hotel has a brother who's winery is next door and Georg Mumelter makes some of the greatest wines in the Alto Adige.

Rooms are nice, we stayed in two superior rooms (we had two bookings and they couldn't give us the same room but changing rooms was made quite easy for us) so quite spacious, one a bit odd shaped with a corner almost like an anteroom and one actually has a small foyer and a half size balcony with a view of the square. The last day of a festival was going on when we arrived so the square was packed with tents and much activity and it was nice to have a drink and snacks in the spacious front patio with a view of the goings on. Breakfast is an expansive buffet served in the spacious dining room with several separate sections with some hot items and a lot of tasty cold cuts. The fruit salad not the best - wish they'd just have cut fruits instead of mixing everything up looking not as fresh. Overall a nice hotel - a bit pricy and also prices could change, depending on occupancy levels booking early might not guarantee the lowest price (as we found out by chance).

Early am cars packed in tightly making exiting next to impossible. The woman at the front desk was exceedingly rude when queried about anything . Unfortunately she also was a waitress in the restaurant , and after sitting down , following her rolling her eyeballs when we walked in , we opted to leave. There was no air conditioning in our minuscule room ; we reported it and the response was it hadnt worked in awhile. We booked the Double Room Deluxe package, which included both dinner and breakfast (both of which were excellent). We were then informed that our late check-out had been unavailable, even though we had not been told this when we had checked in the day before. We were rushed to our room and told to pack up, while the hotel staff kept knocking on our door insisting that we hurry out of the room so they could prepare it for their next guest. Unfortunately, that one event somewhat soured what would otherwise be an absolutely perfect and relaxing couple of days at a remarkable hotel.
