My girlfriend and I missed our flight from Barcelona back to London. The airport there was horrible, we arrived two hours early and couldn't even check in our bags. We found a booking to leave the next afternoon. So we looked at what hotels we could stay in. And found majestic hotel is part of the Amex program and we got to redeem our points for one night stay. We were able to get a room within a few hours. As we arrived to the hotel from the airport we were greeted right away when we got off the taxi.the greeter came to us and helped us with our luggage to the check in desk. Our room was ready but they needed a but more time to make sure everything was in order so we were asked to wait for a bit. We walked over to the bar/ restaurant and had a small snack. I had a bolognese linguine with my favourite negroni. It was priced very fair and the food was great. As we finished up our meal, the girl from check in desk came over to us to let us know our room was ready and brought us up to our room. The room was nice and clean, bathroom was decorated nicely with marble stone. Had a rain shower head and a manual bidet toilet. After we dealt with the hectic morning it felt really nice to relax in the king sized bed. We left to grab dinner shortly. When we returned the turn down service re did our bed. It was lovely to come back to my room with everything tidied up and clean. The next morning we checked out and got on our flight back to London. Woohoo! 10/10 will come again!

It's been a Majestic 9 nights at this lovely establishment. We are checking out tomorrow and heading to London :( I have to say I truly love this hotel. People are SO nice here and my family really enjoyed our stay. I would like to give compliments to our Concierge/ front desk staff Angela, David, Manuel and Laura. They are very helpful and friendly. Our terrace jacuzzi stopped heating, so Mike and Xavi from the maintenance crew came and have it fixed under an hour, and the water is nice and very warm! Before staying this place, I was seriously debating between the MO a block down and The Majestic. I'm so glad I picked the Majestic! Will definitely come back and say hello to my friends here!

My stay at the Majestic was truly spectacular! I used my Amex Platinum card and was upgraded to a larger room with a city view. The brunch is impressive- this was the best hotel brunch in Barcelona- the variety of food and display was gorgeous. Hotel Location is excellent- the Casa Battlo was located 1/2 block and was an incredible experience.

Absolutely beautiful resort. Food was wonderful, staff was helpful, rooms were very comfortable and spacious. My room had incredible water pressure.

    Huge Living Room

Book the apartment residences directly across the street from the main hotel!!! We stayed 4 nights in their 2 bedroom and 2 bath apartment, which was about 1000 square feet. It included a huge living room, a dining room and a full modern kitchen. So enjoyable to have the extra space, instead of a standard run of the mill hotel room where it always seem to be a struggle to maneuver around with luggage. More importantly, I personally think a huge secret to a successful marriage is having individual bathrooms, so this fits the bill nicely! Hubby also gets up super early, so he had plenty of space to work without waking me up with his phone calls and the television. The apartment had all the benefits of what I assume an air B&B home would have to offer, but under the auspices of a full-service hotel instead, so it included daily housekeeping, room service availability and concierge services, which can be particularly helpful for making reservations when English isn't the dominant language, or for getting reservations for difficult to get into popular restaurants. We also really enjoyed the full, completely modern kitchen. In addition to the dining room, there was a nook in the kitchen where Hubby could have his morning coffee. A really cool feature the hotel offered was a spa, that you have all to yourself! I've been to lots and lots of spas, but have never ever experienced this treat anywhere!! You'll need to book in advance. When you arrive, you'll be taken into a fairly small area where you alone will be using the small area exclusively. It will include a steam room, a hot sauna, a standard shower, a sit-down table to for you to do hair and make-up, and a multi-directional shower (essentially a shower with about 15 different shower heads spraying water in various directions). What a treat to know that for the 2 hours, or however long you reserve it for, you'll be the only one in there. Absolutely no one will be there except for you! Having said that, the spa are could definitely use a little updating, but having the privacy, in my mind, makes up for it. Service was polished, professional and courteous. Wonderful location with the best of both worlds. The Hotel Majestic is located on the Passeig de Garcia, where all the upscale stores are situated, but just walk up the street about 15 minutes or so, and you can wander into neighborhood streets where the locals to their shopping for baked goods and other basics. Lastly, don't miss the rooftop bar which offers a 360 degree view of Barcelona. Even if weather doesn't permit sitting out for drinks, get up there to see the view. You can get a distant view of the Sagrada Familia from up there. The pool is also located on the rooftop, but is quite small, and the weather was much to cool for me to take a dip into. We already have this place permanently booked marked in our minds for whenever our travels bring us back to Barcelona!!

was supposed to have guaranteed checkout at 4

the lobby and exterior of the hotel is lovely. It's situated on one of the best streets of barcelona and the proximity to various activities is ideal. The bathroom of my deluxe room was an 8/10, whereas the actual room itself was a 5. It was clean and had an old charm, but was rather small and did not appear like the pictures. The lights were flickering in the bathroom and blew out my converter. I pray my dyson airwrap was unaffected. My major gripes with this hotel was that we booked a deluxe room with a balcony and view and were placed on the first floor. After expressing our concerns, we were placed into a room on a higher floor with no balcony. Not only that, but the view was obstructed due to some construction. I booked my stay with our Amex which offers us a guaranteed late checkout at 4 pm, to which they gave us issues about and acted like they were doing us a favor. We were also eligible for noon check in when available, which that I understand is only when available. it seems they have some issues with bookings as I overheard a couple from Californias booking was marked as a no show so I find it alarming such an expensive hotel has multiple booking discrepancies. I wouldn't have made a mention of it if it didn't seem relevant but my main gripe is the misplaced our luggage which would've been a huge issue if they weren't able to recover it took nearly two hours of investigating for them to finally recover it. Rather than going into the room where they hold luggage (which they allowed me to inspect only to find it was not there), they sent it to a random room which is lucky that no one was occupying it. all in all 4.5/5 lobby and bar area, but for that, skip booking and go for there a drink before dinner.

Hotel Majestic stays true to its name. It's located in a trendy section of Barcelona with plenty of tapas places, bars, and high-end stores around the corner. The building itself is beautiful inside and out and boasts some awesome views of the city. The room was squeaky clean, spacious, and even came equipped with complimentary Nespresso capsules. One of the major highlights of the hotel is a very cool rooftop bar on the top floor; it offers views of the Sagrada Familia and a wide expanse of the city. There's a nice little pool up there as well. I highly recommend Hotel Majestic if you're seeking luxurious accommodations in Barcelona.

Beautiful, well-appointed building, lobby sitting areas, restaurant, etc. Staff were friendly and very accommodating with bag storage, delivering bags to our room before we returned, restaurant recommendations and more. The rooftop is big with pool, bar and a number of seating areas for a 360 view of the city. Relaxing place to sit with a drink. Spa in basement is nice with all amenities. You have to reserve use and it's capped at 30 mins. Rooms are decent size allowing for suitcases and still moving around room. Bathroom is clean and has everything needed including heated towel rack and bidet. Although robes weren't included we found some at spa we used for the remainder of our trip. Lobby is very spacious and comfy, and there is live music in Thur-Sun. Great place to relax with a drink after exploring all day. Breakfast was extensive and a nice start to each day. Included made to order as well as plenty of ready made options for all palettes. The Not as Good We reserved both a superior and classic room but couldn't tell the difference for an additional 130 euros. The front desk said the superior had "more light." Potentially but not sure that was described as difference for what we paid. The rooms lack power outlets. Nothing by bedside. USB by desk but no USB-C or Int'l plugs. We had phones plugged in behind chairs, tea kettle sitting on floor, laptop in bathroom... The subway is underneath the hotel and even though we're on the 4th floor it was loud with lots of vibration. We had Do Not Disturb on for our entire trip but staff entered regardless and made up room. Not a big deal but surprised us and meant we had to put our belongings away every time we left not knowing who would enter when. Overall it was a pleasant stay and we would come back but many hotels we passed by looked like good options as well.

TLDR: Come for the rooftop views of Barcelona, not so much for the stay…read more While Barceló Raval's rooftop offers one of the best panoramic views of Barcelona, the hotel itself is giving knockoff of the W. They try to give off that sexy, mysterious vibe, but as soon as you step into the room, the green ceiling, cheap fixtures and damask wallpaper give it away. The hotel is reasonably "affordable" for its location (near the Gothic Quarter and La Barceloneta), but definitely in a sketchy area. I highly advise walking outside the hotel at night, as you'll find the rough crowds your parents warned you about. The nearest metro station is about a 10-minute walk, and to get there, you have to cut through some of the sketchiest alleys. I booked through Expedia and was upgraded to a room with a view, a bottle of mini wine & an extra bottle of water. My amenities weren't so great from the moment I opened the door. Since my room was pretty high up, the room was stifling & those views were blocked by a stainless steel mesh. FYI: your room requires a key card at all times if you're trying to use electricity, which includes air conditioning. The shower initially felt luxurious--spacious with a giant waterfall head and solid water pressure--followed by lush bath towels, but that impression faded once I noticed the pockets of mold and grime in the corners. Sleeping was also a challenge since walls are thin and anytime the guests next to me entered their room, it sounded like someone was entering mine, which kept me paranoid and on high alert. Rooftop: the rooftop not only offers panoramic views of Barcelona, but also has a bar and pool, though hard to even suggest the pool is an amenity since it's more so for aesthetic than functionality. On the roof, it's not an open floor plan, so you'll have to walk around the building to get a full 360 view. For those who are height deficient such as myself: prepare for obstructed views because of the high railings (great for safety, but not so much for those under 5'3).

Okay, fair we'll hang at the Wave Bar Terrace until we're called. 3:30p...we check on our room. Not ready...ooof my hubbie is falling asleep on lobby couch from traveling. 3:45...4p...4:15...4:24 okay your room is ready! Great, we head up to the room. Our luggage isn't to be found. I call concierge - hello, the check-in agent said our luggage would be here?! Concierge: We'll call you back. We cannot locate it. 2 min later - can you identify what your luggage looks like? Me thinking: do I have to do your job? This establishment is a disorganized mess. I describe our luggage details, ask if we need to come down personally and identify, and also mention slyly that our luggage has tags on them with our names- has anyone been savvy enough to try that angle? Luggage is finally found and brought up 15 min later. Meanwhile, our room has a broken bathroom sink (won't drain) and I see that the previous guests left a train of bread crumbs to the floor to ceiling windows that housekeeping failed to vacuum before our arrival. Heebie jeebies city as I am concerned what else might have been overlooked in the guest transition. I call to complain to concierge about experience, request a plumber, and housekeeping to address the sullied floor. Mgmt offers us 100 Euro room Credit to use at one of their restaurants for dinner tonight. I am feeling slightly better. We go to Salt (one of the W's beachfront restaurants). I order their iconic burger. First bite, I get a very hard, dime sized piece of bone/cartilage in my ground beef patty. My mind is screaming noooooooooo! I try to be cool about it and take another bite of my mile high burger. The second bite contains a lesser sized but still prominent (not able to chew) bone/cartilage. I send it back in exchange for a chicken citing my reasons for returning. Restaurant manager comes to our table, makes a sincere apology. 15 min later my hubby has finished his meal and I'm waiting for my 2nd chance. The manager brings out my chipper chicken saying that my meal this evening was on the house. Fast forward 20 min...bill comes I am still charged for my meal, just not for the first one. Ummmm, sorry is that best practice after you already told me it would be covered by restaurant? I inquire about my dinner line item as I pay and the manager explains that I should be okay, yes, because he charged me for the my replacement instead of both meals served to me. I am irritated beyond, beyond at thus juncture. I pay the bill in a defeated attitude (it was house money after all) however I am appalled and disgusted by this entire experience. Bottom line: clearly this hotel banks off of unassuming tourists. If you're going to go for luxury and pay top dollar - you assume the experience is going to be stellar. I am receiving service that aligns with a two star motel 6. Traveller beware: lodge elsewhere...even if you could use Starwood points and could stay for free- save them for another venue. I booked a signature room through my travel agent, and was delighted that they allowed me to check in a couple of hours early AND upgraded me to a signature balcony room. The hotel is very cute snd colorful, with modern design. The room was clean and pretty spacious, and the balcony was such a nice touch! I liked opening the windows every afternoon and sitting on the chaise and reading. There are refillable water stations on each floor by the elevator, which was a small but big perk to me. Awesome water pressure and temperature, kind, attentive service by staff, and incredible rooftop bar made this a fun place to kick off my stay in Spain. Small gripes: As a short person was the bathroom tub was a bit tall for me to climb into and out of. There was not a true fridge/freezer in the room; the staff was kind enough to store something in their freezer for me but it felt too out of my way to ask them to do it too often for me. The lobby bar drinks were fine but nothing to write home about. Overall though this is such a great hotel and I'd absolutely stay here again. It feels luxe but had very reasonable rates, even right after Easter which is peak tourism. The rooftop bar is very much worth a visit, beautiful views of the city and a fun, lively vibe. They had many Spanish cured meats, cheeses, fruits, salads, pastries and bread, cold cereals, yogurts, coconut chia seed pudding, churros and chocolate (though it was not like a churros shop), and even congee, blended smoothies and power green drinks as well as fresh squeezed juices. We were impressed to see a few different items changed on a daily basis to keep the buffet fresh and new. I liked it better than the buffet we had in Madrid, despite it having a better hotel rating. The front desk staff was super helpful when we needed a family metro pass for 8 trips verses getting an unnecessary unlimited pass. That saved us money! She directed us to the metro station up the block and had us buy a family T pass. This was only €12. You would scan and let one person go through first while keeping the pass to scan yourself in. You can scan multiple times because it is for a group and not an individual pass. If I visit Barcelona again, I wouldn't hesitate coming back to Le Méridien! It was perfect for all our needs!

10/31 Le Meridien…read morewas born with the idea of providing Air France staff a place to stay when transiting during the Starwood years. Now, as a Marriott owned brand; Le Meridien continues the French spirit within their walls. Purpose: my first ever Transatlantic cruise in Spain began in Barcelona, and I was able to book a stay with this Le Meridien property in the center of town and 10 minutes to the cruise terminal. Location: Plaza de Espana is roughly 10 minutes by foot, nestled in a baroque building, and foot steps away from major transit lines, shopping, dinning, and entertainment. The cobble stones were very, well cobbly; considering that construction on the curbs lining the walkable streets were on-going. Conveniently 30 minutes away from and to the Barcelona airport by way of shuttle. At First Glance: you will find the main entrance to the hotel after making a turn into an alley way. Bell staff are eager to assist with luggage when making way up the marble steps to enter the hotel. The lobby is flanked with a cafe and seating area to the left. Men's and women's restrooms are in the center of the lobby, while to the right sits the front desk/concierge/bell desk and to the far right are the guest elevators and hotel restaurant. I found that the design of the lobby is reminiscent of; can I say classic French (think - semi translucent glass, red oak, black finishes, and velvet furniture). The Welcome: the registration agents were quite cheerful. It was roughly 11am and I was fully aware and prepared to hear that our room was not ready. The agent assured that I'll get a call as soon as my room is ready. Our luggage was collected, stowed, and distilled waters were provided to us for the long day ahead. We received a call back with the hour, though we did not return until later in the evening. The Room: the same design language seen in the lobby is carried out through into the guest room. A small balcony, while doesn't seem to allow a single person to walk onto, it does open to provide fresh air. My only caveat for the room was that the glass door to the bathroom wouldn't close entirely but that the room was spacious, clean and functional. While our room was assigned to the 2nd floor (3rd floor in actuality) we did not hear too much street noise. Having traveled for 18+ hours and being extremely tired; being able to sleep in a comfortable bed was much needed. The Next Morning: as a Bonvoy Platinum member; I opted in receiving buffet breakfast for 2 in lieu of welcome points. European hotel breakfast hits differently in comparison to those enjoyed in the United States; variety being the biggest draw. I came into the restaurant with my eyes wide open and scouring all of the hot stations. Everything offered was absolutely delicious. There cherry on the top; a mimosa station - a game changer. We bided adieu to our one night stay at this Le Meridien hotel, thankful for a full nights rest and looking forward to a future stay whenever that may be.

Stayed for 3 nights. Ideally located in Gothic area so very central to everything. Most place we…read moreneeded to go were within a 20 min walk. Slightly inconvenient for taxis. Since it's in the narrow alleys of Gothic, arriving at the front door via taxi is difficult, especially if the streets are very crowded. However, it's pretty easy to walk to from the main street if you're OK with walking about five minutes. When we left for the airport, we were able to coordinate a taxi pick up with the front desk. Fortunately, it was also a sunday, so the streets were very empty. It took about 15 minutes for the taxi to arrive, but it was easy to get out of the narrow streets. The hotel itself is nice. Check-in is on the mezzanine level. Our room wasn't ready, but they were able to store our bags. We grabbed lunch at the rooftop restaurant and the food was objectively decent. The main draw of the rooftop restaurant is the incredible view where you can see all of Barcelona and the towering cathedrals. Service was friendly. On a different day, we tried there spritz hour, which seemed to be marketed as two spritzes for €12. However, we each got charged €12 which I think was the price on the menu anyway so I don't know what happened there. The hotel room was cozy. Bed was very comfortable. The layout was a bit odd if you imagine that the room is a U-shape, the bed is the bottom of the U, which makes sense. However the bathroom was split up with the toilet on the right side and the sink and shower on the left side so after you use the bathroom, you would have to walk to the other side of the hotel room to wash your hands. It's not like the room is big, but it's just kind of odd for layout, especially if like luggage is dispersed across the room and you have to walk through all that.

I've always loved Kimpton properties and had wanted to stay at this location since it opened. I…read morefinally had the chance for one night. Arrival & Parking This hotel is very difficult to reach by car. I wouldn't recommend driving or trying to park nearby. The hotel suggested a parking garage by the Cathedral, which offered a hotel rate of €40. While helpful, it still meant hauling large bags through crowded, sometimes sketchy Gothic Quarter streets--and getting lost along the way. Leaving in the early morning was easier thanks to clear directions and fewer crowds. Location The setting is both a plus and a drawback. You can walk to nearly everything, but evenings bring heavy crowds, street noise, and safety concerns. Even with doors closed, the noise from motorcycles and parties made it hard to sleep. Check-In & Amenities Check-in was slow, partly due to a large birthday group arriving at the same time. The cava offered while waiting was a nice touch. The hotel has typical Kimpton perks, like the evening social hour (wine from 6-7 p.m. in the restaurant), but the space was cramped with little room to sit or mingle. Room We stayed in a corner king with Juliet balconies overlooking two streets. The layout, however, was awkward. The toilet was located in a small closet near the entry, while the sink and shower were across the room--an inconvenient and unappealing setup. Both bathroom areas were very small. That said, the toiletries were excellent, the robes stylish (though unbranded), and the bed comfortable. Based on photos, other rooms appear to have better layouts. Rooftop The rooftop pool area was attractive but limited, with only about eight loungers. After waiting, we found two. The pool was unheated and very cold, though thankfully small enough that no one tried to swim. The views were nice but included some rundown rooftops. We enjoyed smoothies and tapas--especially the patatas bravas, which were fantastic. Unfortunately, the main restaurant had few vegan options, so we dined elsewhere. Breakfast & Service As an IHG Diamond member, I could have selected breakfast, but it didn't start until 7:30 and we had to leave earlier. The staff kindly prepared takeaway bags with pastries, fruit, and a sandwich, which was much appreciated. I later learned the hotel offers yoga and a spa, though none of this was mentioned at check-in--likely because the staff was so busy during our brief stay. Overall A stylish Kimpton property with standout service touches and a great location for exploring on foot, but the noise, room layout, and parking challenges keep it from being as seamless as other Kimpton experiences I've had.

From the moment we arrived and until we departed, we were treated graciously by every member of the staff. The staff at the front were all terrific, especially Santiago who somehow remembered so many things about us. I wish I remembered everyone's names so I could call them out individually, but every single one was just great! Our room was very comfortable and we felt at home during our stay. Our room faced towards the water and we enjoyed the views whenever we were there. We were celebrating our first wedding anniversary and were given a nice treat and note welcoming and congratulating us. So thoughful! We took advantage of the breakfast every morning, which had a nice selection of cooked entrees and buffet items. Sandra was wonderful and she not only had us starting the day with a tasty breakfast, but also put smiles on our faces every day we saw her. We are so glad were we able to see her on our last day to say our "so longs." Last, the location of the Serras was perfect for us. With a week to explore Barcelona, we felt it was the perfect location for us to start each adventure! I can't recommend The Serras enough to anyone looking for a special stay and experience in Barcelona. Our next trip to Barcelona will definitely see us staying at The Serras.
