The NH Hotel Deusto was a fair place to stay during my visit to Bilbao. Location is ideal. About a 10 minute walk to the Guggenheim, 5 minutes to the Deusto university, and about 10 minute walk to the heart of the city. Reception staff is helpful and friendly, and speak English which is comfort for tourists. Housekeeping was great and very friendly. Basic amenities are included: hair dryer, shampoo, body wash, towels, mini bar.
Walls are fairly thin, and it often sounds like your door is opening and closing when housekeeping is doing their rounds on both the same floor and floors below in the morning. Bathroom layout is awkward and there is not much room to enter or exit the shower.
In order to access the wifi appropriately (strong/working signal) guests need to remain in the main lobby. We were given multiple incorrect passwords upon check in that did not provide access to the wifi, and in our room on the 3rd floor, the signal was basically non existent. In addition, when we did connect, it was nearly impossible to utilize apps and/or sites at a reasonable speed.
In addition, we experienced difficulties with our room keys working consistently. We had to replace our keys three times during our 3 day stay. One was attributed to having our keys too close to a cell phone, the others unexplained. Our room door also did not open properly and took multiple tries in order to enter the room.
Breakfast buffet had good coffee, a wide selection of tea choices, and a decent spread of food, comparably priced to other hotel breakfasts in the area, but still over priced. read more
