This is the spot to stop on the Way North from Loreto when driving the Baja California Sur. What a pleasant surprise to find this gem. The room had a king size bed and a desk with a television and a coffee maker. Super hot showers and very spacious. Nice size closet area to hold your gear. The Breakfast is really great! The staff even fixed the wobble in the table when they noticed it. Highly suggest this place. High on price when it comes to Mexico and Baja but worth the little more because it is clean and nice staff. They are very accommodating to English Speaking visitors even those of us learning Spanish. The manager was such a job to talk with and he made sure we were well taken care of. If you are driving down to Cabo San Lucas and back, This is the hotel for you. read more

This is by FAR the nicest hotel in the area. We discovered the Hotel Paraiso while racing the Baja 1000 somewhat by accident but we also know the hotel manager (more on Ernesto later). Picture this: You're driving on Hwy 1 between San Quintin and Ensenada through the middle of nowhere between ejido Camalu and Colonet proper when you see this hotel on the east side of the highway at KM marker 131. Good food, nice rooms and friendly staff awaits you here. The rooms at reasonably priced at $48 for a single and $56 for a double. They're clean, have nice linens and are fairly large. A dresser, desk with chair and a sitting chair are typical as well as satellite tv with pretty limited channels. In the 4 or 5 times I've stayed I've found consistency to be the norm here. I can't say that for a lot of places down south. The restaurant has a small varying menu and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. I've never had a bad meal from the carne asada to the spaghetti to the molcejete. I was sad to find last night there was no ice cream. Service is good but food comes out semi-slowly as the kitchen and staff are small. When you check in you'll most likely meet Ernesto the manager. He is fantastic at what he does and whatever they're paying him it's not enough. He handles the desk.. waits tables, tends bar, handles the unforeseeable issues that come up and plays host! I had the pleasure of meeting him at his prior hotel and he was an icon there as well. I'm still not sure he sleeps.... Might be a robot. While this is not the Plaza Hotel in NYC, it is a fine hotel with excellent staff. This is a refreshing stop if you are headed north and just want 1 more beautiful night in this gorgeous area. The rooms are pleasantly large and pet friendly. Coffee makers in the rooms with GOOD coffee. WiFi is good along with a nice desk and closet ample closet. Saving the best for last, the sunsets are spectacular and the view is impressive at anytime. Food.OMG.. with Lucas in the kitchen it doesn't get any better. Fresh food only and if you aren't wanting typical Mexican this is the place. It's not the PLAZA but then again, I'd rather be here. read more

This is a blessing in the middle of no where Just minutes from the pacific coast. Its an off-roaders must stop. Nice rooms great showers very clean and friendly. The restaurant cooks up great authentic food for breakfast lunch or dinner. I've been coming here for the past five years and it always a treat. read more
