Ibis at Hannover Medical Park was surprisingly a great hotel…read more First off, the staff was great. I had the pleasure with being greeted and talking with two gentlemen. The first gentleman catered to the needs of my baby - he asked me if the double bed in the room was going to be ok, even though they did not have cribs to offer (it was just nice that he cared enough to ask). He also identified that there was only two towels in the room and provided two additional towels for my baby. When checking out, the second gentleman was very friendly, courteous and professional to work with. He was very patient in helping us deconflict the payment for the hotel (we booked through Orbitz) and addressed all of our concerns before officially checking out. I don't recall their names, but they both deserve a raise. Just saying. :) Although it is not located toward the city center of Hannover, the location is situated in a very calm and peaceful neighborhood. Honestly, walking in the area brought back nostalgic memories of living in California (after living in Germany for over 2 years, it felt very nice). Getting to food via walking on foot can be a chore, if you don't want to dine within the local establishment. The medical footprint is quite large, and it was nice to see the various architecture and buildings within that area. I've been at a couple of other Ibis hotels and similar chain hotels before where the rooms were very tight and small. The room here was surprisingly large and "roomy"; we didn't feel like the walls were closing in on us. It was clean and definitely allowed us to get our rest for our overnight stay before traveling back to Bavaria the next day. The hotel has their own validated parking for 11 euros a day; just take a ticket and park when arriving. When checking out, the hotel will provide you another ticket once you officially check out.

There was a group of senior citizens who are at health risk since the rooms get even warmer. The final night, adults sat in the restaurant enjoying their wine, while boys maybe 8-12 in team tricots ran screaming bloody murder through the halls, up the stairs, past the guests' rooms. Supposedly, the adults were given a talking to. And then as I had emerged from the bath, several boys were standing on my balcony looking in at us, and when we locked eyes, they screamed and ran off. The balconies have a 6-8" gap between walls and railing. Anyone can get in. Hotels must provide health and safety. During this visit, this hotel failed on both counts.
