Noisy Main road location. Caters for visitors to local factories (like myself) and if you like big pictures of the Pope you will love this place! There are much nicer places to stay than this. read more

We are Americans living just outside Munich and this restaurant/gasthaus is just around the corner…read moreand down the road from us. If business or pleasure brings you to Munich, we highly recommend this charming inn with its excellent restaurant. The prices are much better than Munich and the buildings and settings are what one would expect of a rural rustic Bavarian inn. But it is also convenient to the conference center at Reim and many of the multinational office headquarters around that area. Also convenient to the Munich airport. We discovered it one day on our bikes! The food is more sophisticated than the usual gasthaus fare, in fact at times can be considered five star. This establishment is also an integral part of the community, hosting a friendly, village like Christmas market, as well as other seasonal events attended by locals. I would highly recommend to anyone, especially those looking for authentic Bavarian atmosphere to spend time at this exceptional inn. It is a large, rustic building comprised of several interesting dining rooms and a beautiful outside garden terrace in summer. There is a large, cozy fireplace to sit and enjoy a drink. Check this place out and you will be pleasantly surprised.

The rooms are always spotlessly clean and surprisingly quiet, considering its so close to the train station. The breakfasts are great and in a very nice room on the first floor. There is an excellent Italian restaurant attached and i have eaten most things on the menu. i would like to be able to book the food to the room and pay on exit from the hotel, but as they are separate businesses this is not usually possible. The hotel say it is, the restaurant say it is not! Excellent Hotel, Goo location, Great little town

The majority of them speak english (and very well at that) which proved helpful while navigating around Bavaria. The included breakfast is great and the rooms, while not extravagant, are nice. A nice plus is the hotel's proximity to the U-Bahn station which connects you to pretty much anywhere you'd like to go in the area.

Other than that, there wasn't much else that I liked... The room floor was dirty and didn't seem like it was cleaned (I found a toe nail just laying on the floor). The window handle was broken, and we couldn't open the window to cool the room. Since we had two rooms, we tried to get the second relatively close to the other. The front desk agent was very nice and treated us very well, and she did her best to get two rooms close to each other. Unfortunately, when we checked the second room, it smelled a lot like smoke and cigarettes...

The U bahn train station is right outside. The room is very small and feels like a cruise ship cabin. There is no air conditioning and we stayed during Oktoberfest with mid 50s weather and could only crack the window which still was stuffy and warm at night. The bed is VERY UNCOMFORTABLE and the mattress was about 3 inches thick. There is a cheap plastic chair, not a comfortable sitting chair. The WIFI has to be paid for after 24 hours. There is not an in room safe, you must leave with the front desk. The staff was marginally helpful. We were given a room that overlooked the back but had noisy construction starting at 7 AM without any fore-warning (our reservation had been booked for 6 months in advance). I would not stay here again.

I would recommend it if you know Munich well. I am a very experienced traveler in developed and undeveloped countries with experiences from hostels to Ritz Carltons, and this is the second bad review I've written about ANYTHING: I'd say this was the worst hotel I've stayed at in years. Eventually they sent someone to look at it but they couldn't get the room any cooler than 26°C/79°F at 11pm night. Lots of traffic and hotel noise into the night. There's not much around so it's the hotel restaurant or nothing. The U-Bahn stop is a concluded 10-15 minute walk away, but at least it's easy to navigate once you get there. Marienplatz is about a 15 min ride from that station. The hotel staff weren't particularly helpful or friendly, but the place was fairly clean and the restaurant is decent (which is the only reason I didn't give it one star).

There are a few decent restaurants around. The staff is nice and mostly accommodating. They also have a good breakfast. My biggest complaint is that despite the price we paid for the hotel, it did not have air conditioning in the rooms. Being so close to the Oktoberfest grounds, it gets extremely noisy at night and hot, so you have no choice but to keep your windows open. You will hear people partying and sirens all night long. Also, although the bar is a lot of fun and tons of people come into it, if your room is located any where near the bar you will hear it as well.
