Our room was comfortable and the service pleasant. And, this is important: shampoo bottles were clearly labeled such that a person who wears glasses can read them in the shower. This is huge.
Hotel Mosaico
For the cost, my stay was OK…read more Ravenna is a small sea city, and my friend and I planned a mini weekend trip to walk around the city of mosaics. The hotel is aptly named, but like many establishments in the city, the hotel was small, quaint, and had an 80s feel to it (so, dated). The room itself was clean and spacious. There were two beds, but one was an awkward queen size and the other was what seemed to be a mini pull-out! The bathroom was well-stocked with towels and nicely heated. Our stay also included a buffet breakfast, but options are much more limited compared to what you expect from US breakfast buffets, and savory options are minimal--- a lot of brioches, sweet cakes, cereals, and yogurt! Savory comes in the form of hard boiled eggs. Our stay in one room was 111 euros (we split the cost amongst the two of us). A bit on the pricey side in my opinion given the quality, but it's what was available. At least it was very close to the station! Note: there is a coupon for 5 euros off attached to a Yelp check-in at this hotel, but they do not honor the coupon, of course...

The reason for giving this hotel a 5 is because of Christian and Tito the shuttle driver to the hotel. my husband and I were stranded downtown taxis and buses stop running due to a bike race, even after the race the buses and taxis were not available. I called our hotel and Christian sent over the hotel shutter to pick us up through the chaos. After arriving to the hotel he asked if we had eatten which we didn't as we were stranded for hours. He then asked Tito the driver to take us to a restaurant (10:00pm) which he graciously did and came back to pick us up. They care and their actions showed it. when your in a foreign country, lost at night stranded it's pretty scary. I would not hesitate to book again at this hotel knowing your care and safety is there priority. Thank you and Christian and Tito The Nagee's
Best hotel thus far on my european trip…read more When we asked for a triple for my parents and I, we were given what appears to be the handicap accessible room. The bathroom was spacious and the shower resembled something out of a teleportation pod in a science fiction movie. Everything about the hotel and room was clean and modern. The room even had a slight hint of new paint scent to it, even though it's been open for a few short years. The breakfast food was plentiful. There's even a coffee bar when you walk in. All that aside, the best thing about the hotel is the free, fast internet. This is perfect for those who are abroad on business and need a reliable connection for video conferencing or uploading files. Twelve billion gold stars for fast internet.

The staff supported this party from 11:30am to 11:30pm and made sure all the Italians, Lithuanians and Americans had an amazing time. The Hotel Consul is a small family run hotel in the busy seaside resort of Milano Marittima, which…read moreit translates as "Milan by the sea" and it feels in fact like a slice of a metropolis tagged onto the sea, just as if you suddenly added a beach to a bit of Bond Street... The Consul is only a few steps away from the wide and well maintained beach and smack in the centre of the resort, yet off the main road, so absolutely ideal for families. Bedrooms are plain in the Italian style of seaside hotels, but spotlessly clean and all air conditioned and with a small balcony. Bathrooms again are not huge but with everything in its place and in good working order and top cleanliness. Most people staying in this hotel do so on either half or full board (except at weekends and in the off season when people just stay overnight) and the cuisine is homely, with a good variety of dishes and a very nice starters' buffet with plenty of choice. All in all the Consul is a very good hotel, well run and with a personal touch and unless you are seeking the comforts of a 5 star hotel this is a perfect choice for a relaxing family holiday.
