One star for the breakfast. It's adequate and there is a nice lady who coordinates it.
One star for letting us check out half an hour late, keeping out luggage.
The rest, it's a NO from me.
1. You should know that there is no elevator so if you're on the 2nd floor like we were you'll have to lug your suitcases up and down the winding stairs.
2. There is no hotel grounds, it's just a townhouse that's been turned into a hotel I am guessing by a family.
3. When we arrived at midnight, our room had only been set up with one pillow and one twin size blanket, and two hand wash sized towels. We had to tell them and then the next day they changed it.
4. The AC is our room was broken I.e. the ac swivel only directed air towards the bed instead of cooling the whole room. The whole contraption was held together with a tape, we both left with a cold because of this.
5. WORST OF ALL, location : the hotel is located off of a side street, a seriously broken down narrow path leads to it. It's located behind some ugly office buildings, no Uber / taxi drivers can find it. When we took a taxi there at night, the streets were lined with girls waving their body parts at us. Uhhh...I thought it was a deep at night phenomenon but throughout the two days we stayed there, there were girls trying to get attention from cars at every corner on that street and some of the parallel streets. It's so unfortunate they have to resolve to this to make a living but I for one certainly don't want to be in an area where people who buy these services apparently frequent.
6. Farmhouse chic? No carpets, creaking floors when you walk around the room, a closet built from found wood (?). No, this is not what I am looking for in a hotel when I have paid appx. 110 dollars a night to stay there.
7. No full time receptionist. When we went to find these towels that hadn't been provided in our room, we had to go look for the housekeeper ourselves to try to solve this problems.
8. Dorm like feels, lights in the stairs on some timer so most of the time it's dark.
9. 10 minute walk to the subway (read about the kind of roads you will walk through in #5).
At most a two star experience. It's not horrendous per se if you are looking for a very basic accommodation but tbh there are tons of better hotels in Berlin for the same / lower prices in better areas - so I can not recommend this. read more
