It took us over an hour and a half to get through just border control and we hadn't expected that at all. Better signs or clearer communication about the process would have made a big difference. Getting from our plane to our next gate was also confusing. We were connecting on the same airline but after getting off the plane we had to take a tram to get to our next gate which was the SAME airline. The airport wasn't marked very well and we constantly second guessed if we were going in the right direction. On the positive side the food was never a problem here. Options seemed to be everywhere around the airport and there was a wide variety no matter where we were. We also liked that sleeping accommodations were available. They were a bit expensive for what you get but it was nice to have that option after a long trip or a long overnight layover like us. Overall Zurich Airport is clean and modern and offers lots of conveniences but I think they could greatly enhance passenger experience by having clearer signs and a process that is easier to understand.

Downfall is the room we got. Room 327 ! If you ever get this room ASK for a different one. It's right across the hall from the room service close/facility. Despite the old nature of the building and rooms, by room was very clean and tidy. The carpet was definitely old so I used socks to walk around in. With Gold Status, I was able to have complimentary breakfast, which was a buffet open until about 10:30am. I made the mistake of going late the first morning I was there and the attending staff got super anxious. It was a bit weird, but I let it slide. I also had dinner at the same restaurant on one night and my bill ran me 40 CHF...not ideal, but that's what you need to expect when it comes to dining in Switzerland! The staff are hit-or-miss when it comes to courteous and friendly service. Some employees were nice and helpful, while others had a straight up attitude. When it comes to convenience, this location is perfect if you need to be near the airport. It's also not very far from the city center. My two night stay got me 10k Hilton Honors points, so I can't complain about that!

Their wifi didn't let me view a 30 second video clip on Watsapp, it said this wifi doesn't allow video. this was also something i have never experienced with a hotel wifi, where I have paid for the room. All cofee in room was just decaf, they had take away cup holders and lids but no cups. We did a 10 day europe trip, all hotels were good and we slept well except for this one, good that we had to be here just for one night, but it would have been better to sleep before a long flight.

Cutesy little safe handles on all the doors. Not located in the best part of the city, but safe. Our main criticism of the hotel (like the review of the restaurant there) is that they allow smoking in the building. We get it, in Europe smoking is much more of a thing than in the U.S., but the Kameha Grand was the only hotel we visited in two weeks that allowed smoking indoors. The hotel would claim "it's only a section in the restaurant." That may well be, but it's like the early attempts to segregate non-smokers in U.S. restaurants into a different section, no walls, no fans, no filtration system, just a separate area. That's the Kameha Grand. Apparently management is obvious to the spread of cigarette smoke throughout the building. It smelled like a casino with no ventilation. For the price, you have to do better than that. If you're a heavy smoker, Kameha Grand is your kind of place. For a non-smoker, we cannot recommend you stay there.

There wasn't much noise from the airport either. The rooms were small (duh, it's a budget hotel), but they were clean and safe. They had all the amenities that any other room would have. Switzerland is one of the most expensive countries in the world. For the price, the room met expectations!

Another one went for the Moscow mule and they put several slices of cucumber, which I haven't seen before. Go for beer at the bar since you know what you are getting. The food at the restaurant is good. They do have free shuttles to and from the airport, this is another plus.
