I normally try and eat here about 5 times a year mostly during holidays and special events, the food is to die for and that is my opinion. Outside it looks like a typical German restaurant but in the interior is very chic, conservative and very formal. It also has been recently renovated which give it a really fresh outlook. Next to the restaurant is the hotel, parking is just outside and they also have an outside terrace, Service is really on the button here, and the manager, host and waiters really know their job and roles and how to perform. The food is 5 stars, really delicious and really different, in my opinions it's really good to go all out here, everything is mostly a la carte but they do have a set gourmet menu, but you can pick and choose and combine both a la carte and gourmet to how you want it. Tell them what you don't, or cannot eat and they will perform little miracles. The wine list is supreme and the manager is really good in helping you choose and what you want to drink it with, he gives his recommendation and they are never wrong. This has to be one of my very favourite restaurants in cologne, brings back allot of good and old memories. The…read morerooms are great, and although room service dining is limited to midnight (with the exception of one vegetarian option after that), the prices aren't bad at all. We were able to check in early as the friendly concierge was able to give us a call right after our room was ready, and even had our luggage moved to the room before we got to our room. The hotel staff also delivered newspapers to us in the morning as well as had a wonderful shoe shine service. Turn-down service is something you have to request every evening, but even then, it is worth the phone call just to replenish the coffee and tea in the room and get some water. Speaking of coffee and tea, they don't have a coffee maker in the room, instead using a kettle to make both tea and instant coffee. Also missing was an iPod dock, which is an interesting oversight since I would rather listen to some good music than watch foreign language television in the room! The bar downstairs is very trendy with some really good and well-priced snack and menu options. I loved the garlic fries after spending an entire day walking in the old city and drinking the alt beer. Checkout was plain and efficient. You get what you pay, and the stay was memorable.

The restaurant is well presented with a mixture of booths and tables, as the hotel is attached to the Esprit Arena you can get a table by the window to look in. I opted for the Mexican burger and I was not disappointed when it arrived. The portion size was good and as a lunch meal it certainly kept me filled for the rest of the day. The bar is well stocked, they had several good whiskeys on display, unfortunately i did not have the opportunity to sample any of them. The hot chocolate was good but the glass size ensured that you actual needed tow of them!! I actually went into the hotel as I needed access to wifi and the free wifi was tremendous. For free connection it was better than most paid wifi I use in England.

Hallo und guten tag!…read more Decided to stay here after learning that I had a long layover in Dusseldorf (June 2011). The staff is trained to speak English, but their English is not very good. The room was small but sufficient. It was very clean and even had a window that could be opened out so you can see the bustling traffic and nightlife outside. Had they not had a window, I would have never noticed the Turkish restaurant down the street where I ended up getting some really good food. I'd return here if I ever found myself in Dusseldorf since the stay and experience was good. Auf weiderzehen!

I spent some time & tracked the source down to the invisible drain under the wooden shower floor。 I am pretty sure it's either the drain or the wet underside of the shower floor that bred bacteria which caused bad smell. There's no access, no easy way to fix it, I ended up flushing the drain using the shower, wasted a lot of water but the problem went away.
