Hubby ordered the spicy sausage and I got the hamburger with frites. There was a salad buffet with fresh plums which I thoroughly enjoyed - the plums tasted similar to the ones in America but they were shaped and colored differently. I had about 4 in total, they were so refreshing. I didn't love my hamburger and stopped eating it because it was dry, overcooked and not very tasty, so that's another reason why I ate so many plums. We met a very nice gentlemen at the table next to us named Sven Svensson who proceeded to point out the mayor of the city sitting across the restaurant. He also shared some fun facts about Vaxjo which we enjoyed immensely.

I came to stay here so that I could visit the IKEA Museum The rooms are furnished with IKEA furniture. They look out on a Courtyard and garden also furniture with items from IKEA. The garden furniture and plant accessory product line is much more extensive than what's available in the US. I presume that's because IKEA would be competing with Home Depot and the other big box store. The Ikea Hotel will eventually have conference rooms, a nice business center and many other amenities. It will house IKEA co-workers who come for training from all over the world.

The rooms could probably use a 'freshen' up but they are of a good size, clean and tidy which I find always helps. The breakfast is a buffet service which is OK. If however you want to have a cup of breakfast tea you had best bring your own!!! The hotel is situated a 5 minute stroll from a shopping area which has lots of shops and places to sit drink and watch the world pass you by. WiFi is free throughout the hotel so that is a positive thing. There is the facility to make tea and coffee in your room but there is no safe. All in all a decent hotel with helpful staff.
