The food however didn't overwhelm us at our recent visits. German cuisine is best when it's simple and hearty, but both the Eisbein (12 Euro) and the Gulasch (13 Euro) were lacking flavor. The Erdbeereisbecher (strawberry ice cream) at the end tasted cheap, and sadly, service was rushing and had a I-don't-care attitude. Meh.

The desserts are delicious and gorgeous. Service: Well trained quick and friendly staff. (Be careful with foreign credit cards. There seem to be issues every now and then.) Cleanliness: Spotless and immaculate. Ambience: Cool, but cozy modern design. Location: directly on the Spree river with access to the river. (The Hotel also has a fantastic Spa area.) Our meal was 60eu all included and we left very satisfied. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.
