The room was small like most B&Bs in big European cities but we had a private bathroom and it had A/C which is nice in the summer, the bed gave us the best sleep we've had since our trip in the past two weeks, I believe it's a memory foam mattress and yes they put two singles together to make a traditional queen size like most B&Bs do to accommodate us Americans but at least her bed didn't keep splitting apart like at other places. We will stay here again when in Florence.

It is nestled right outside the Castellina In Chianti little town and makes an excellent base for hopping around the Tuscan part of the Italian boot. We stayed in a very quaint room. I felt like I was a guest in the Italian version of Downton abbey or Titanic. Our room furnishings were intricate and charming. The hotel has many rooms like a wine tasting room, a breakfast room, a reading room, a terrace. It's quite the ornate place! It simply feels like an experience from another time. I love vintage things and this was totally up my alley! The breakfast buffet is just exquisite. So many savory and sweet options, lovely regional cheeses and salami. The morning cappuccinos make you feel truly spoiled! We loved eating breakfast and looking out into the Tuscan country side (heart eyes for days ) Franco, Nicoletta and the rest of the staff are simply fabulous. Always greeting you and smiling. They make you genuinely feel welcomed and loved. they are such a sweet picture of Italian hospitality. Also the hotel is so clean. For being an older home, I was so impressed with the spotless, immaculate furniture, floors, and bathroom. Also the water pressure is so very nice! We hope to be back!

Cookware store is definitely a good substitute for me for missing the vintage market hours. This little shop has everything, it's like a hardware store mixed with cooking essentials. Initially I just browsed and wasn't planning on getting anything as we were one-bagging around in Italy, but decided I'd get some olive wood cooking utensils to bring back to the US. The little containers for making baked goods pastries definitely caught my attention, I want one of everything but contained myself on hoarding more cooking items. They carried all the Pyrex galore and everything in between. So much to look at and so little time. The pricing were reasonable and a lot of locals in here getting essentials. Great place to purchase locally sourced items.
