It is right in the heart of the Fussganger Zone of Bad Reichenhall. You, literally, walk out front and hang a left and you are walking along the walking area of shopping and right around the corner of a beautiful park.
No complaints about the staff, that were very friendly and accommodating. Parking isn't free, but conveniently around the corner. I think we paid about 7 Euros per day.
Our room was absolutely HUGE, by American standards. The bathroom even has a bidet, with towel warmers and a double sink. It's quite dated, however.
We ate at the Axel Stube, that was once a thriving restaurant where the locals hung out. It's not that way any longer, I am afraid. The bar was even sadder. We sat there, for an after dinner drink and there were only two other customers. My cousin, who still lives here, says that the locals just don't come here any longer.
As for the breakfast buffet, they do a lovely job. I still love the old world charm of the breakfast area, with the large windows and view of the garden.
I don't know how this place can liven up again, because I hate to see this place close down and be boarded up. She's still a grand lady, and I would stay here again.
