After seeing the menu listed outside the restaurant, we had planned in getting a quick bite before heading back to our hotel. Once we were seated inside however, we saw that their menu stated that if you do not order off one of their set menus, there is a minimum of 2 food items per customer required. Their budget set menu is a 3 course menu for 35CHF, which would be cheaper than getting any other 2 items on the menu so we opted for that even though we were that hungry. The waitress insisted that it was a very very good deal (I guess in Switzerland that is a very decent price IMO). I ordered the cannelloni bolognese, and my husband ordered the wild boar ragout (he likes trying new things). After flying from California and taking the 4 hour train ride from Geneva we were so dehydrated so just ordered still water to drink. The waitress was very nice and very friendly. She made sure to tell me the bolognese is spicy and asked if that was ok. I said yes, and she asked if I was sure maybe 3 times. About 5 minutes after I ordered, she came back to our table and asked if I was ok if we changed my order to lasagna bolognese which is "the same thing but just a different pasta". I said of course that's not a problem (but I don't consider them the same...?). The salads came out, and the plating was beautiful. Not too special of a dinner salad but man whatever chilis the chef put in that salad was ridiculously spicy!! My mouth was on fire. Weird the waitress didn't warn us about how hot the salad would be, it made me nervous how spicy my pasta would be! (The table next to us sent back their salad since it was too spicy). While we ate our salads, the chef came by the table to see how we're doing, and told me instead of the lasagna bolognese he was currently making a spicy vegetable lasagna, and asked if that's ok. No big deal. Our entrees came out quickly after that. My lasagna was decent (white sauce...didn't expect that) and not spicy at all. I was surprised the vegetables included cauliflower...have ever had that in a lasagna before. And man there Was so much cheese!! Both our entrees has a lot of cheese. Husband's wild boar was tough, and the pasta and sauce it came with was just meh. Both dishes were very filling and we weren't able to finish either. Dessert was a chocolate mousse on an open face croissant and topped with whipped cream. Tasty but not special. After all this the meal costed us 78CHF. Since VAT and service is included that meant our water bottle was 8CHF?? I guess considering this is Switzerland I didn't expect dinner to be cheap. But I did feel underwhelmed by the meal. There aren't many other options in the area, and the grocery store is not open on Sundays for us to cook our own meal. I'd say if you find other options, this restaurant is passable.

Ruth and Othmar Suter own and operate this charming hotel. Their staff is also friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for Mürren, with sweeping views from the rooms and the open patio, where meals can be served. They have the towns only coin-operated laundry service, which is a big bonus for travelers coming from other places. This is open to the public, so sometimes there is a wait to use the machines. Some room packages come with free breakfast, which offers a delightful section of breads, cheeses, fresh fruit, and sliced deli meats. Anyone coming to the Bernese Oberland area should seriously consider a stay at the Hotel Bellevue in Mürren. You won't be disappointed!

The rooms are great - not fancy - but spacious with good sized bathrooms. Breakfast was excellent and very relaxed. There's a very peaceful lounge area if you're into hanging out in the bad weather. And the restaurant, while a little on the hot side, is outstanding. Excellent food, wonderful service. Great hiking opportunities in the area. Don't miss the gondola rides - there are 4 of them. Our favorite was Oeschinensee.

They are open throughout the day so that was great. The cream of tomato soup and Indonesian vegetable rice were very well presented and soothing on a cold, rainy day in the mountains. Prices are exorbitant but that is expected when you are in such a remote town in Switzerland. Service was quick and friendly by Swiss standards :)

This was my first time here and we stayed two weeks. The people working at the hotel were friendly enough. Our room was hotter than hell the entire time we were there and our fridge didn't work. The breakfast each morning really wasn't very impressive. They would provide you with eggs and bacon upon request but I would think that should be something that you don't have to ask for. The facilities otherwise are quite nice but it is fairly expensive and if there's anybody in your group who is not in peak physical fitness, you might want to consider something else since the hill you must climb to get to the hotel on a daily basis is challenging to say the least.

Prior to that, I have called the resort and asked if we can do early checkin and they agreed to that. When we arrived, the checkin process was easy and the receptionist helped us bring our luggage to our room. I enjoyed our room and the view was amazing even though we didn't purchase the room with the better view. I enjoyed the breakfast. The server will come to you and ask if you want any coffee or tea. The breakfast is the same daily with some slight changes. I didn't mind that because I loved it! I wish that they offered a lunch or dinner buffet option. We ended up doing room service for dinner and it was quite pricey. We did enjoy the burgers that we order. I also like how the room cleaners would clean the rooms and refill the fridge everyday. The mini bar is free and they offer soda, water, and ice tea. We enjoyed the view and everything. I just think that the people who took photos for the resort or at the resort made it look better than what I experienced. I did really enjoy it, but it looked more amazing in pictures.

When we arrived, we were greeted by Frederick, who showed us to our rooms and gave us some recommendations for things to do over the weekend. Our room was fabulous-- we stayed in one of the panoramic view rooms. I will say that we spent very little time in our room as there were so many neat spaces to enjoy in the hotel. We spent quite a bit of time in the spa and in the pool, and if you are visiting, these are both a must-do while staying at the hotel. It was surprisingly quiet during our trip-- there were times when the pool was a busier but it was still enjoyable. Given the picturesque landscape, we were delighted not to be surrounded by people getting in the pool just to take "influencer" photos. The food was incredible. We dined in the restaurant on our first night which is when the black angus entrecôte and accompanying hollandaise stole our hearts. So much so that we cancelled our dinner reservations out in town for the second night to try other things on the menu. The ribs, the ribeye, the Aranchini, the mac, babaghanoush, the broccolini, the cheesecake... it was all so delicious. Straightforward flavors, fantastic food. Service provided by Vincenzo and Patrick was also wonderful. You can get a good drink anywhere, but it takes a special kind of hospitality to turn a drink into an experience. Bartender (and in our opinion, genius mixologist) of the Axe Bar, Phillip, made us a variety of experimental cocktails based on our tastes and it was an epic time. We came for one drink and ended up staying for quite a few. We truly enjoyed chatting with him, as well as the other bartenders Miguel and Kevin. My husband and I are the kind of people who usually end a trip early, because we'd always prefer to be home. This place made us wish we could stay another night, or even two. Staff was very friendly and the rooms are bigger than what the photos show! We had a room that featured the striking views of the mountains from our balconies. Our rooms had plenty of seating and also tables available which was helpful to utilize the space. It was always comfortable in the room even though there was no temperature control, and there's always the option to open the window for some Alpine mountain air. Our hair dryer wasn't working and the wifi was spotty (if on, very fast) but we lived. The breakfast options sometimes ran out of food early (esp for popular items like boiled egg or plain yogurt) and the walls are a little thin, but otherwise a very convenient and beautiful stay!
