I honestly think this hotel is overrated. It's modern and has a nice-looking lobby, reasonably…read morecomfortable beds, newer furniture and a solid breakfast. However, I stayed here a number of nights, and my experience was marred by a handful of different things. Including: 1) Room wasn't clean/prepped the first time I entered it. It wasn't actually a disaster, but it had a partially consumed bottles of water on the small desk, plus there was garbage in the can and the shower's soap dispenser was empty (there's no individual soap/shampoo/conditioner bottles, just a combined liquid soap/shampoo, which isn't great). The room itself was very small (even by euro standards), the bed only had one small pillow, the tv on the wall was small and non adjustable, and in general, it just wasn't as nice as most hotels. The final straw? Someone opened my room door without knocking. Not sure if it was the cleaning crew, or another guest by accident, but it woke me up and was unnerving. Nobody knocked or asked for permission to enter, but the door was absolutely locked. Again, not a terrible hotel, but not a good one, either. Certainly not worthy of four stars.

Before going…read morethere.. the interior of the lobby is quite nice, there is a big TV, place to sit and chill and a restaurant nearby. Beer is normal restaurant price and they have a good weissbier. When it comes to food I have only tried breakfast and it was very good. Especially mozarella with tomatoes and a good bread. I was also pleasantly surprised by the way you can prepare your tea, with the dipping baskets and everything. There are honey sticks (for your tea), a variety of sweet breakfast "components" like jams and delicacies. Of course there is also meat and cheese which I prefer (schwarzwälder schinken was only once). I haven't eaten evening menu but it was poor as I've checked it. I was to give 3 to this hotel because the free Internet is terrible. It was so slow that I thought I'm back in the nineties when the only thing there was was modem and isdn connections. C'mon we are in 21st century and we need to work sometimes from the hotel. Instead I couldn't even open my Facebook (ehem Yelp). Overall OK. Garage is free.

Booked the InterCityHotel because of its close proximity to the Hauptbahnhof. And, even though I…read moreended up driving here, the location was still a huge plus. First, the hotel is very clean and modern. Rooms were spacious and the large windows kept the room bright but were insulated enough so that the trains weren't too obnoxious. In-room Wi-Fi was reasonably fast at around 3-4Mbit and was only €8/night. The breakfasts in the lobby were basic but otherwise unelaborate German spreads. What really brings the value is that our hotel stay came with an included bus pass, valid for use during our entire stay. The bus system in Ingolstadt is constantly running and very efficient. Also, with the hotel located at the Hauptbahnhof stop, seemingly every bus going anywhere in the city went through the stop just outside our hotel and every bus seemed headed back towards the Hauptbahnhof. Few things less stressful when visiting a new city than not having to worry too much about getting lost on their public transportation system. Front desk was especially friendly and helpful. Parking was a bit expensive and there aren't many parking spots available (maybe 5?). If you're not too light a sleeper and the very moderate amounts of noise from the train station aren't too big a deal, the InterCityHotel is a fantastic place to stay.

I may be one of the few diners they have that need to eat gluten-free however, they were accommodating and asked the chef to make recommendations. The nice waitress gave me a few food options (Vom Grill) and I decided to order the grilled pork. The dish came with a nice serving of vegetables as well as some baked potatoes. My husband and my father-in-law ordered the duck breast and the fish respectively and there was not anything left on their plate. All in all, they are a great restaurant and have a wonderful atmosphere. It's a nice place to celebrate an important occasion.

For those who…read moreare from the United States and enjoy a bland cup of coffee, they even have that option, which I found very funny. They have the wonderful espresso machine that all of the best hotels in Europe have, but they also had a carafe of mediocre coffee at the tables (that most of the people I was touring with were thrilled about). Lol! Over all, I was extremely impressed with this hotel. It was clean, pleasing to the eye, there was a bar/restaurant, and it was very apparent that they were truly putting in an effort to be a good experience for travelers.

Its location is excellent, just north of the CBD with all of its shops, restaurants and the river to walk along. About 10 minutes by taxi from the Hbf, and a bit closer to Nordbahnhof. Just across the street from the main bus station. Check in was quick and friendly. English is okay, but not great. Knowing a bit of German seemed to help a lot, but my colleague (who knows no German) survived just fine. My room was of great size, overlooking a school (so no great view, but quiet at night). Bed was very comfortable. WiFi was free, but inconsistent. It became VERY slow after work (6-11pm), but at other times was quite fast. Breakfast was large and good, and included in the price. Parking is affordable - the lot is small and tight, but that's Europe for you. I did not try the bar/restaurant.

Nice bath rooms with great water pressure and built in hairdryer. Love the environmentally friendly wall mounted shower gel and liquid hand soap dispensers however if you need conditioner and lotion bring your own Breakfast is served buffet style and plentiful. Minibar is well stocked and super affordable. Overall very enjoyable stay. Only room for improvement: the pillows are filled with some foam that feels like cotton candy, bath towels are thin and rough. Be aware Germans love fresh air and room service tend to open your windows to " air out" unless there is a raging snow storm outside! Double beds have two sets of pillows and duvets as well as two separate mattresses, old world German style no wonder birth rates are declining... This probably won't be counteracted by the all over display of art canvases featuring scantily clad ladies. We had to giggle at this amateur art work. I'm by no means prude but even my dad had to agree that it was strange that I should have to sleep under an image of a half dressed sexy lady. Evidently there are no single women's rooms featuring hunky sexy men on display... Lol Still highly recommend
