The good:
The rooms themselves are clean, safe, and quite decent. Great location in general and free wifi with the hotel provided username and password. When I needed some help printing some documents, they were very helpful. The breakfast was really delicious in the attached hotel restaurant. Unlike some hotels, this actually felt as if we were in a restaurant, not just a lobby breakfast buffet. Perfect location for walking and the Migros takeaway supermarket is just down the street if you'd like to save a bit of money by getting a small meal or two there instead of at the numerous, but expensive cares/bistros.
The not-so-good:
Our room wasn't ready upon check-in time (not a crime, but not the best after a long delayed plane ride.) and then we had to change rooms the first night we were there (around 10pm) due to a double booking. In fact, we'd come back after a lovely night to find our keys had been deactivated for our room and that they'd given keys to another couple for our room while we were gone. Luckily the couple was honest because they were, in essence, given access to our electronics, passports, and other valuables. A sinking feeling to say the least. This might have just been a bad one time experience, it is obviously not part of their procedure!
Strange note (take it or leave it):
Admittedly, the hotel has limited control over the outside environment, but be aware that just outside most of the hotel's windows will be prostitutes (perhaps they are not there during the winter months?). Lots of loud, laughing ladies who stay there ALL NIGHT LONG. Prostitution is legal here and I'm not the type who has some strange moral outrage over it, but they were so loud we could barely sleep. Funny enough, the only other noise we heard all night were the cathedral bells. If you're feeling poetic, that could be one of those sacred/profane lines of pondering you might do...say at 3 in the morning when you can't sleep because prostitutes are keeping you up.
Get earplugs and sleep well. This is the city and there will be a decent amount of noise as is expected. In the winter months, when the windows will be closed, you might not have any issues at all because the windows are almost sound-proof.
