The location, along the canal/river, is a huge plus if you choose to eat at the restaurant or have a drink from the bar. The breakfast, typically included in the rate, was also very good. It was cramped and a bit slippery and the shower head was not high up and didn't angle into the shower; it angled straight down and couldn't be adjusted because there isn't a real shower door or curtain, just a pane of glass that swings out and is approximately one third the width of where a shower door should be!

It is a newly constructed building, across from the new train station on a street that now has a string of new office and apartment buildings. The lobby and lobby restaurant area is a large open space flanked by floor to ceiling glass, which makes the space feel open and airy. The guest rooms are very large, almost American in size, but are still very Scandinavian in style - wood laminate floors with minimalist, but functional & comfortable furniture. The beds are very comfortable as well and the bathrooms are very well appointed. The staff is very friendly and helpful as well.

We had a room with the toilet (placed in the ex-wardrobe), there are rooms with both shared toilet and shower. Hotel has a very cosy outside area: practical garden for kids to run around and play and wonderful area for having the breakfast/fika outside. The breakfast/brunch was a real highlight of our stay: a great selection of both cold and warm dishes, cakes and fruits, even ginger shots were there. Free wi-Fi is fast and available all the time. In general, we would not mind to comeback for a longer stay. The prices are quite high - 1400SEK for a double room lowers the mood and that's why I give only 4*

The place is located in the centrum of Uppsala, just across the street from the Uppsala Central Station. Thus it will serve very well as accommodation if you come by train or by bus. Kind staff, a very nice atmosphere and a fresh interior. The breakfast buffet is included in the hotel price, but if you are a hostel guest (or if you just randomly drop in from the street as I did, in because I wanted to have a little bit of a morning luxury) you can buy the buffet for 79kr. I think it was totally worth every "krona". The buffet was very good; there were a large assortment of muesli and yoghurt, different types of bread, cheese, jam etc. Also boiled eggs and fresh fruits. And what was probably the best part: you could make your own Belgian-style waffles! And of course add some nutella, peanut butter, whipped cream etc. to it. Yum! Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and juice are included. In addition, they also offer gluten free breakfast. It's the swedish way - no discrimination. The atmosphere was cosy and calm. They also have a shelf full of books if you like to read while enjoying your "frukost". Very good breakfast buffet for a reasonable price at a good location!

My room had a bunk bed with a queen on the bottom and a double on the top. There were extra blankets and pillows. The shower and toilet were down the hall and very clean. You so have to use the squeegee and clear the water from the floor when you are finished. There is an outlet in the room to charge your electronics or hair styling product. If you book ahead of time you do not have to remove the dirty linens from your bed. I had a 12 hour layover and the cost was 800 krona which was about 400 cheaper than Clarion Hotel that is near by. There are 3 hotels in the airport and the last one I checked with was the Rest and Fly. Unfortunately they were totally booked for the evening. I was so grateful to meet Linn (front desk hostess) who helped me navigate which hotels were close to the airport and would be in my price range. She went the extra mile to accommodate a weary traveler and directed me to the correct location to meet the free shuttle to take me to the hotel also. Thank you Linn for making me feel welcome in your country and getting a place to stay that evening. Keep up the great service and beautiful smile that makes the day for the people you meet even when they are not the guests of your hotel.
