A grand old hotel in a small town, Merihovi is far from a generic chain hotel. There's a real sense of occasion when you walk the sweeping staircase and wood-lined passageways, where there are photos of famous visitors. Rooms are clean and quiet, and have character - something very missing in modern hotels. The furniture is like you'd have in your own house (if you have an older house!), or a B&B. The bathroom is tiled and was sparkling clean. There is a wonderful original 1940's elevator which is worth using just for the experience. Friendly staff, and a nice breakfast buffet in the formal dining room. Staying here was a real experience and I'd really recommend it. read more
