We, as in my college family and I and friends descended upon this lovely pub for a 50th birthday…read moremeal for my mate. It has it's own parking lot behind the pub, with plenty of spaces, you walk in past a nice outdoor seating area with a raised well pond with carp and a waterfall and then into the traditional wood-lined bar area where we'd reserved a table for 7 off to one end of the bar. Service was great, the girl advised me on ale and the rest of the hooligans on drinks without a problem and we then decided on mains, the rump steak was a favourite with a smattering of surf and turf, this arrived in good time and the steak cut like butter it was so well cooked! the sides were equally tasty, crisp yet fluffy hearted chips onion rings and a delicious salad of baby leaves dressed with a vinaigrette dressing. That safely polished off and plate (well boards) left clean it was on to dessert and I managed to demolish a waffle with banana and ice cream, the others were equally appreciative of their choices. All in all a very pleasurable experience and a reasonable price as well, I'll be back there again when I'm next down visiting.

The staff helps create a friendly atmosphere and makes it a extremely welcoming place to be no matter who you are and just created a sense of home away from home within the walls of this old pub. On a Sunday the pub does a carvery which you just can't miss as there selection of freshly cooked meat and vegetables allows anyone to enjoy this unforgettable variety, normally at this point of the review I would mention something I'm not keen on but I just can't everything from the staff to the food to the pub it's self is all placed at a level of standered unheard of anywhere else. This is my #1 favourite place to eat and I dare you to find better

If you are looking for a traditional country Pub, ran as they used to be alongside the farm, well…read morethis must be one of the last few remaining ones. If you can imagine walking into a friend's house and there in the corner is the bar just knocked together with a few bits of wood and a couple of tables and stools to sit at, well this is what's here. What you see is what you get not a great selection of beers but the Theakstons went down a treat (well actually several did). We sat in the garden overlooking the countryside unspoiled by any sounds other than that of the birds and sheep in the fields opposite. If you are after Juke Boxes, slot machines and the other trappings of modern pubs give this a miss, if you are after visiting the Scarborough area try and find this one you shouldn't be disappointed after all they way the pub trade is going at the moment it may not be here for many more years. I will probably get bought and turned into someone's home, shame if it ever does. The pub doesn't do food (only a few sandwiches) just a traditional pub.

Walking into the mill inn is like walking back in time to the 1970's! When you order a drink the bar man Disappears down stairs to his underground cellar to fetch it. Only open on certain days and I've you go you will be talking about it for day's after. Love it
