The food selection was decent, typical fast foods, empanadas, pizza, hotdog, ice cream, sucos, and plenty of cold beverages to stay hydrated. Things weren't too over priced compared to the typical restaurant prices. The sitting area was a little cooler but probably could have done with a few more fans causing a breeze in the stifling heat. The restrooms were well maintained but hot as outside so it was a little like an oven. The best stop was the gift shop which was air conditioned! They also have a bunch of sportswear for sale and only a few items with the Rio Open logo (hat, visor, umbrella). There was plenty of sponsor booths with oversized tennis rackets, practice booths, mini golf and a few others with prizes. The stadium seating was typical, hard white small folding seats unless you got the front line seats in the sun. The staff was all friendly. I felt bad for the ones who had to do door control. People need to understand once the game is in play you need to sit down! Otherwise it was an awesome experience. They even had a taxi stand right outside the gates to make transportation easy. By the way, if you are at the club during the day and like cats, there's a bunch hanging around the gates. The jockey club feeds them so they're friendly.

I had a ticket for a night event (BELO DIA de Carnaval) There were two security guards at the first check point and took my ticket. When I got to the next check point they ask for my ticket and said I already gave. So I ask to speak to the boss. The boss spoke ok English and he walked back to the entrance. The security guards said they never took the ticket, so the boss said he has to believe the 2 guards over me. I am half Brazilian and lived here for a year so good luck if you are full Gringo.

We saw one kid wearing a metal for winning a jujutsu competition and plenty of kids skateboarding or mountain biking down the steep hills. They also had a music venue, with a large stage step up for live music. It was too hot to be out in the sun, but the hillside provided a bit of shade. The park has the zoo (which is currently closed due to inhumane conditions for the animals) and the national museum which is quite impressive. The food and beer festival had a great space for venue like this. They had quite a variety of food and beer options which made this a great weekend to hang out at the park despite the heat. There's also scenic views of Christo from a distance and a lagoa with scenic Corinthian columns and swan peddle boats for rent. It's also conveniently located right next to the São Cristóvão metro station.

Flamengo vs Corinthians we figure what a great opportunity to catch a soccer match in Brazil! We booked it of course, our excursion included tickets to the game, VIP entrance to the lounge which was great since they provide food & liquor what a great deal, really decent food, liquor was beer which was good as well. U can stay in the lounge & watch the game there's limited seating inside but there is AC so it's more comfy or outside in the stands we did both, sitting outside in the stands it's quite the experience the energy in the stadium was insane what a game, the home team Flamengo won by a score 4-0. As for the stadium it's a Brazilian landmark were many iconic players have played & on top of that it is one of the largest stadiums being that soccer is like a religion in Brazil, if you get the opportunity to visit, u should! We had a fun time catching a game at the stadium, the energy, the crowd it is really insane, happy we got to experience a soccer match in Brazil.

In winter, I could only plan to take the tour of the stadium and the small museum on site. Admission was R94 and I guess I was expecting more from my tour of the largest soccer stadium in the world and a Brazilian institution. After the brief video introduction, we were escorted to the locker room and then left to wander on our own. No guided tour, no explanations posted (except in the museum area) but many opportunities to pay more for photos on the field, holding a replica FIFA trophy, kicking a soccer ball, etc. The locker room showcased every jersey from the Brazilian home teams and was quite popular photo spot to take pics with their favorite team. I sat in the home team bench dugout, climbed the stairs up the seating area to get a higher view of the field and get seated in the media room hot seat. The museum consisted of jerseys, bios on Pele and other famous players, the chairs from Queen Elizabeth's visit, Pope JPII stand, Olympics 2016, FIFA 2026 signed soccer ball by Shakira, COPA and FIFA teams and history. Bathrooms were located by the museum. After exiting the tour, the courtyard contained the gift shop and food court. I think they could do so much more to engage their fans but it seemed like paying for all those photo or video opportunities was the main focus unfortunately. The views and the location could not be beat. You buy the ticket from the counter and then head on inside to take the cable car which takes you up first to Morro de Urca and then Pao de Azuca (Sugarloaf mountain). You literally can choose to spend however much time you want at either spot although i think most people stay at Urca longer because the view is clearer and its more spacious. The first stop lets you take in the beautiful city views and the second stop is literally in the skies so you will see the misty skies and take in the whole city from the top while admiring nature at its best. I also had the best chocolate churro here so that added to the sweetness of the spot. My favorite spot in Rio and i cant wait to go back one day.
