It was suggested by a clerk at another retail shop that I check Houdinis for item sought after. I arrive I ask the teller for product he produced it within seconds. He inquired as to my need of said product. He informed me I did not need what I had originally sought after and provided a much cheaper alternative and educated me on the product. He could have easily sold me what I had originally sought for the much higher price but he did not. In my opinion he put me the customer above profit which is good business because not only will I go out of my way to shop there I will encourage others to do the same. Awesome shop. read more

I drive for Lyft and I live in San Francisco. Got a ride out here and thought I would check the prices on cigarettes compared to the city and was shocked to find the average price is $7 here and $10 in the city! However when I went into the smoke shop I came to find out that they were pretty much the same price as in the city! In fact my cigarettes ( Camel Crush ) were little more than in the city and he didn't offer any breaks if I bought more than one pack which they do in the city so mine is 1 STAR for that. My gf has been smoking Drum tobacco for a long time and it is often hard to find. It comes in a can (or a package) and you roll it yourself so it doesn't have all the crap in it that you find in prerolled cigarettes. When you do find it, it is usually super expensive - anywhere from $35-40 a can, which lasts her about 3 weeks. Not only is it expensive, but it's not a popular brand so the places that do carry it usually have multiple cans sitting on the shelf for WAY too long and it smells nasty, tastes worse, and is all dried out. So when we moved downtown a few months ago, we had to find a place close by that carried it. The place closest to us charges nearly $40 for it and that's just crazy, so I peeked online to see where else we might be able to buy it. I called Houdini's and asked if they carried it. It was 11am when I called and the guy told me that no, he didn't have any on hand, but he would call his vendor and I could come by after 1pm to pick it up. THE SAME DAY! We got there at 2pm and sure enough, he had a fresh can (so fresh I could just sit there and sniff the tobacco all afternoon 'cause it smelled so good) AND he only charged us $28 + tax. When we told him we were looking for somewhere to buy it regularly, he told us he would start carrying it. JUST FOR US! The ONLY reason I'm docking a star is that the store is on Santa Clara so there is a LOT of traffic and hardly ever parking in front of the store. If you get there mid-morning (10ish), you might luck out and get a spot either on that side or across the street by Starbucks. Otherwise, bring someone with you so you can drop them off to run in while you circle the block a couple times and then pick them up when they come out. read more

Went in not knowing a thing about pot. Wanted to buy a bong for a friend. Explained throroughly it needs to be for bong rips. I was sold a DAB RiG. The thing was a total failure because it's for WAX not for POT. I was lied to a deceived because he wanted to make a buck. The NAIL was also broken. He blamed everything on me and was embarrassing me to the max. I left there feeling very bad about myself. But I feel I did the right thing and at least let him know how I felt. I would have said they are pretty decent. You get what you want usually for a cheap price. But of course I go in and buy a new battery for my cartridges and first this guy try's to sell me a damaged battery for $20 and instead gave me one that had a scratch on it. Which was whatever. But I go home and it isn't even pre-charged, so I charge it, and it takes all night. No indicator that it has been charged all the way. I try it. It doesn't work. We tried it with multiple carts and nada. So I go back and try to talk to them but no. Just BS. Now I'm stuck with a battery that doesn't work? Couldn't have given me a cheaper one to exchange...???
