Houghton Hall Garden Centre is amazing! I can spend a good two hours in this shop just looking around. This is not just an ordinary garden centre. At Houghton Hall you can go in for a nice meal, you can shop for quality food from local farmers, you can find clothes, and pet supplies. They have a separate aqauatic store inside now where you can buy tropical fish, saltwater fish, and pond fish along with anything you need for them. They also have an arts and crafts store in the basement that sells all sorts as well as holding a weekly craft class for adults. There's something for everyone here and I'd really recommend a wander around it to anyone! read more

I absolutely adore going to this garden centre. Even for a day out it's fantastic. Not only does it sell amazing plants but it's a whole different world aswell. There's a cafe with a large range of drinks and hot and cold meals which are well priced. The farm shop is fantastic for local produce and I always buy fresh meat. They have a hot tub dealer there which is out of this world. The christmas shop is amazing and the kids can even visit santa. Downstairs there's a model railway shop, a dolls house emporium, and a world in minature museum. Fantastic for gifts, garden items and even hot tubs! A great trip out for young and alike read more

Plenty of shopping here, even if you are not a gardener! They stock outdoor clothing, Hotter shotes (extremely comfortable). Reasonably priced and spacious coffee shop. Outdoor playground for children. Unusual gifts, as well as arts and crafts. A bit of a hike out of Carlisle, but it's reasonably close to juntction 44 of the M6. The food hall is excellent, lots of stuff you couldn't find elsewhere in Carlisle. read more

I love this garden centre it sells everything you would ever need for your garden. It also sells household items and has a really nice restaurant and farm shop. There is plently piece of free parking. read more
