With summer ending, I wanted to write my experience with Hudson Country Montessori School…read more As a mom of a 3 and 2 year old, who went through the pandemic and had trust issues with daycares or "strangers" caring for my kids, I can't thank HCMS enough for the amount of peace and reassurance they've given me. Everyone there is just absolutely lovely and such beautiful people. They have shown my children so much love and care. My daughter is a Velcro baby, meaning she's a literal baby koala. I can't thank Alexa, Rose, and Renee, in the infant room, enough for holding her when she wanted to be held, as long as she wanted. She then moved up to the waddler room, with new teachers, but they are as amazing as the infant room teachers. Sara, Susan, Chelsea, and Rebecca are literal angels. I just can't thank them enough for everything they've done for my daughter and us. They took such great care of her this past year. My son started in the toddler 2 room with Ms Mimi, Graciela, and Kristie. We absolutely love them! They're all such sweethearts! Ms Mimi is so good with the kids! She knows exactly how to take control of her class, which are all toddlers! Touché to her! Ms Mimi is also so loving and caring. I really couldn't have asked for a better school for my children. They've learned so much while being there and they've made such amazing friends and connections. I also love their security! It's gated, and you need a special passcode to enter the school. Although my children have only had the teachers listed above, everyone in that building is so friendly and welcoming. Ms Carmela is in charge of the toddler program, and she is just so amazing. She takes her time to meet families and hears any concerns you may have. If HCMS was on your list of schools to check out, go with it! You won't regret ever enrolling your kids there. It's a real Montessori school, filled with loving, hardworking, respectful teachers. You'll really see your children bloom into such smart, independent, loving, little people.

They're still employed after physically harming children. Do not enroll your child. The care my child while enrolled in the twos classroom has been unacceptable. As an educator, your job is to teach, manage emotions, redirect, and provide language to those who do not have it. My child was dealt with aggression by his teachers in the twos classroom. They belittle, mishandle and sometimes ignore the children. I saw on live video, One of the teachers blocked her face with her hand, while a child was crying in front of her. I understand challenging behaviors can be frustrating but it's never your job to apply force to anyone's kid. If your goal isn't to make a difference in the early stages of development, then this is not the place for you and you should not be working with kids of any age group. There are teachers who witness this treatment and do not speak up. The twos classroom consists of Andreana Stevenson, Angelique Clark and Jasmin Cardona. Sometimes Chantal is in these classrooms and she also should not be around children, she has fallen asleep while on the clock. The cameras aren't monitored enough by management, they do not pop into classes enough.

Our daughter loves it there and has made so many friends. She has been going there since she was an infant and is now in the 4s. I am tough to please and they have always answered any questions or calmed any concerns I may have had. The teachers there are excellent. I love their nature based program and now the STEM program. Just last week she told me the months of the year with excitement. Some days she comes home a mess with paint from an art project or from playing outside. They are always reading to the children and encourage the love of books. We would recommend Explorers to anyone looking!

They pull professionals in to educate the kids with music lessons, cooking classes, top notch learning and great extra activities like yoga, gymnastics and soccer. It is privately owned by someone who has kids which is why I believe they truly do care...as for the baby room as well as all the other room stages. From early in my pregnancy, we did a lot of reading about day cares, visited several, but we knew when we visited Duck Pond that was where our Jack would end up. We clicked instantly with Amy, the director, who strikes the perfect balance between down-to-earth and professional. She is caring, trustworthy, and always reasonable. So we chose Duck Pond for Jack when he was a mere 2 months old, and he just had his last day there (due to moving) 2 years later. Duck Pond's atmosphere feels like family, and we loved that if we wanted to talk to someone about Jack's needs (he had an anaphylactic egg allergy for a while) or if we had scheduling or billing questions, there was no corporate infrastructure to navigate. We loved that it was a family run center, that every staff member knew Jack by name and was excited to see him in the morning. It's important to note that teacher turnover is low, which was fabulous because Jack became very attached to them. All along, I have genuinely felt that Jack was loved and cared for. But this became even more apparent as he learned to walk, and would run excitedly in in the morning, and then when he learned to talk and was able to tell us how much he loves his Duck Pond friends and teachers. We'll miss Duck Pond but remain extremely grateful for the wonderful early care they gave our son and the peace of mind they gave his parents.
