If it's full please don't leave it out the front instead wait for them to open and kindly give it to them. Hip and funky accessories line shelves and wall brackets, all pleading to be worn and taken home. I've picked up some fabulous items here from my last visit. A wine rack which I turned into a shoe rack ($10), a cat painting ($5), kitchenware ($12) and tops (under $10). A must to visit if you haven't already. Add this to your next op shopping store list as there are plenty of op shops along the road and in the close vicinity.

There are also oodles of gift ideas here. The best thing about Homewares Direct is the fantastic service. Unfortunately many customers are making use of this service by asking for advice on products and then purchasing them online. I fear for the future of small, locally owned business like this if people continue to do their research at boutique stores and then shop online to save a few dollars. I guess we'll see if stores like this can survive competing with the department store 40-50% off sales as well as online stores with lower overheads. There is plenty of parking on-site. Keep an eye out for there occasional sale sign out the front. If you get in when the time is right, you'll get an even better bargain.

They stock a similar range, but have a large room at the back and an upstairs area with a great selection of furniture. Upstairs is more shabby chic white metal furniture and artificial plants. You can always find great specials in the front downstairs section of the store with many products discounted, glasses, Maxwell Williams, gadgets and lots of other things that the kitchen. There is also a small, cute selection of baby toys which make perfect gifts. The home decor here is not that different to what you find in a House and Garden magazine without the pricetag. I have bought beautiful bedside tables for under $100 and I have made good use of a white dresser with cane drawers in my bathroom - a large three drawer tallboy for around $350.

Scanpan, Raco, Salt and Pepper and Circulon are all here with more platters than you can poke a stick at but I find the store lacks a decent utensil and kitchen tools range. Staff at the Magill store aren't as helpful as at the Malvern store, I've been carrying items in my arms and been ignored a few times and did have the delightful experience of being told that the floor staff didn't have enough time to look up the price of a piece of furniture on the floor for me. So although I love pieces in here, based on past experiences, I'd head off to the Malvern store as I love the friendliness.

Why bother travelling to mammoth shopping centres, pushing and shoving your way through the throngs of people and giving hard earned dollars to mass marketed chattels, instead support your local community and get to know the locals. The prices are reasonable, the staff are friendly and helpful plus offer to buy items in specially if they don't happen to have them in stock. Located in what was once considered an outer suburban dare I say 'country town', it has transformed judging by the growing number of quality housing estates popping up and thriving population. There will certainly be no shortage of demand to fill new kitchens with the latest gadgets and everything in between to fill the gaps. Also, not forgeting that last minute gift this place has an excellent range to choose from, a little something to give and not show up empty handed. My Kitchen has rescued me many times in the past and it's a good excuse to go there and pick up something for me too!

WIthout fail they have come through with the goods too. That's a strike rate I can get behind as a customer! The service is helpful and friendly and as far as a one-stop shop for gifts to give hard-to-buy-for people, HCL has got you covered. Nicely. I can't imagine something that HCL DOESN'T stock! Honestly, the range is phenomenal. I went in to buy a meat thermometer just before Christmas last year - Bam! 4 choices of different digital thermometers and a couple of cheeky analogue numbers in case you wanted to rock your temperatures old school! I haven't been to their new location until yesterday and I definiltely approve the move, it's light and airy with a good all round range of kitchen and cookware and plus plenty of gift ideas to choose from, which will never go out of fashion. For the past few months I've been carrying around with me in my bag, a rubber seal for my s/s stovetop espresso in the hope someone will stock the size. No luck to find a replacement until Hillbilly's came to the rescue for a grand total of $2.20 and now I can once again enjoy my espresso coffee. I also purchased a mini grater because sometimes it comes in handy as I don't want to use a huge grater for a small piece of chocolate or nutmeg, etc. And a mid size preserve jar for my homemade lemon curd. There's a primal urge to cook and provide food for the family whenever I enter a kitchenware store, thinking of all things I can make and bake but it's the cleaning up I hate!

They are even the stockist for some special car magazine only distributed through certain places. Only two stockists in SA and this was one of them. The service here has always been good and I've never had any issues with any of my purchases. You have to go and have a browse. Nothing like a Super Cheap Auto or a Repco. A lot different a style in this auto shop with plenty of bling!

Perhaps if I was of an "elegant (read: expensive) simplicity" home decorator I would appreciate these products.

The only thing that would have me thinking twice is the cost, as Two Pairs isn't exaclty shopping on the cheap. There are a lot of things that catch the eye in this store, but unfortunately nothing that warrants the pricetag attached (in my opinion). As a poor, just-graduated uni student there's not too much need for these kinds of things. I mean, what am I going to do with a $40 wooden alphabetical letter? But I'm sure as the cash comes in (hopefully) my desire to have quaint yet pointless items in my house will only get stronger, and when that time comes I'll know to go to Two Pairs.
