Tim said it wouldn't work as some of the lines were too close together. Within a few minutes we worked out a tattoo that would work and I booked myself in. When Tim had drawn up the tattoo he rang me up, I called in to have a look and approve it. As I was booked in for the next day. It was all systems go. The tattoo I wanted was to be placed over my ribs which is a very sensitive area. Tim recommended I use EMLA Cream to numb the area. He said it would only last until the outline was done but he advised and I am glad he did. Putting the cream on a couple of hours before and covering with cling-film was messy, but I am really glad I did. I got the cream from the chemist £3.11 a tube. Tim kept asking if I wanted a break but we pushed on only taking one break. It took 3 hours tattooing time. There are loads of free advice and any touch up work which may need to be done, is all included in the price. Tattoos may need touching up if the ink doesn't take properly or if you accidentally knock the tattoo before the ink has permeated properly. I was very impressed from start to finish. A very no nonsense 5 stars.

It took a good few weeks of work to get a completed design (this isn't the sort of place you go in, look at some pictures on the wall and go 'I want that one'), and it cost a bloody fortune - I swear I own a fair size of it - but it was absolutely stunning. The guys are incredibly skilled, talented, inventive and professional.

He'd had a couple of rather sub-standard tattoos done before at a dodgy establishment down a side street in the city centre, and wanted them fixed and merged into something a bit more impressive - admittedly, no easy job. Not to fear, however, because the two guys who work in this place are skilled - my friend and I left a fair few hours later (they take their time, but its worth it), with him ecstatic what the artist had done on his upper arm. I'm no tattoo fan, but I can appreciate a good one when I see it, and (since he took the bandage off) I've had nothing but appreciation for my mate's body art.

I am one of the many that dismisses this studio as my tattoo's have all been done else where, nevertheless I have heard nothing but good reports about Station, especially on the design front! The two blokes that run the shop seem to have a sincere passion for their work and see their tattoo's as an at form. They don't seem scared to take an active role in designing and drawing which I feel really assures customers. Prices seem very average, if not a little lower than city center prices and the customer service seems to be really, really superb. For a tattoo with a personal touch, drawn and inked by an artist who takes pride in his work this is your place. This is not a dodgy little tattoo and piercing joint, these guys love their jobs which is evident by their roaring trade.

Black Crown is relatively new to Leeds however, the tattoo artists are a combination of former artists from Leeds' two top tattoo studios Ultimate Skin and Physical Poetry. The best in Leeds have combined to open up this brilliant tattoo shop. The shop is set in a really nice location, a minutes walk from millennium square and the decor is right on trend. I highly recommend Chris, he's done alot of work for me and has great experience as an artists. He puts his all into his artwork, creating something original with all the aspects you want. All the guys in Black Crown are great to talk to and aren't your typical tattoo shop types, you know tattoos on the face, huge muscles, not interested in anything you have to say types. Their hourly rate is £70 which is pretty average for fabulous artwork. If you're paying any less than £60/hour you're probably at the wrong place. He is amazingly talented, very quick and super imaginative. He knows his art and what will look good and he doesn't commit to a piece unless he is 100% about it (which helps when it is going on your skin forever.....not that some other artists feel the same!) I would recommend this studio highly. From the minute you walk in and witness how clean it is, to the stunning, gentleman's club decor, this studio fills you with confidence. Looking through the portfolios on display only cements this feeling. Only thing is that you need to book in advance, but if you're flexible (unlike me!) then you should be fine.

The manager who does the piercing is very friendly and polite and chatty - he really put me at my ease even though it wasnt me who was nervous it was my mum. The equipment is fully sterilised and comes from a unopened packet so you can be sure of the quality and hygiene. I was told how to care for my piercing and made sure I knew what to do next to care for it. The shop is at thte top of ivegate just underneaf the klick photoshop and it is easy to walk past as the signing is only on the windows and if you didnt know it was there you wouldnt find it. There are a few steps to go down and then you are in a small waiting room with another small room for the piercing. There is a huge supply of jewellery to choose from and hygiene products.

I told him that I had previously…read morehad 2 cartilage piercings before but got the mistake of getting them done with a gun because I wasnt previously aware that it is unsafe to do so. I asked him to check my ear and see if it was safe to get it re pierced safely and he said yes. He sat me down on my chair and told me he was sanitising the area and before I knew it I was pierced. He did not ask me what position I wanted the piercing or show me what he was using - he just pierced me. I was extremely startled at how fast it was over and had doubts whether he used a needle or not because it happened so fast. I later rang them back and asked the man to confirm whether he used a gun or needle and he said that they only use needles as a gun would shatter my cartilage. I took his word for it but then my sister remembered she took a video of me getting my piercing and we realised that he had in fact used a gun! I have also read reviews online that say that he uses guns for cartilage piercings. I have checked the official bradford council guidelines and it clearly states a piercing gun should not be used on anywhere other than ear lobes. I have also spoken to a friend who had her cartilage pierced here almost 7 years ago and he used a gun. This man has been doing this for many years and should have his license removed after unsafe practices and lying to his customers. I have emailed bradford council and hoping they revoke this mans license!

Looking at the previous 1 star review from Helen is a bit dodgy seen as Helen says she is from Nottingham when the studio is actually in Leeds.
