The items were not junk, and could certainly have been enjoyed by persons in financial straits who cannot afford the high prices of new furniture.

There was a recent addition to the main facility and whoever architected it was a genius. The staff and volunteers are passionate, dedicated, and genuinely care about creating opportunities for the kids and families who come through the doors. Working with the kids here has been such a joy. You can see their confidence and creativity grow every day, whether it's through after-school programs, summer camps, or mentorship activities. It's amazing to watch them discover their strengths and build lasting friendships. The center itself has also seen incredible transformations in the last couple of years. The building has been beautifully renovated and expanded, with new spaces that make learning, playing, and connecting even more inspiring. Every improvement has been made with the community in mind, and you can feel that when you walk in. Went in to look around for some materials for my garage and some of the young guys working there…read morewere very helpful until some arrogant manager came over and sarcastically asked them what they were doing. I had asked them for 12 sheets of luan and they needed to be in good shape because I was using them on an exposed ceiling. The manager came over and I told him I needed them undamaged and he look at me with a very disrespectful stare and said that I was funny.... He was very ignorant and wasn't happy the staff were helping me. I checked over the luan that they pulled for me and a few were damaged and I didn't want to waste time having them put them back and get other ones so I told him I didn't want them and he can put them back. I just went to Home Depot and got the same thing in pristine condition for $0.50 more per sheet. They are overpriced there and management is horrible so goto another location or the Loading Dock in Baltimore. I buy stuff there and management is helpful and not ignorant.... He should be fired and never work in customer service or management of any type.... I hope he reads this. I am sure all of the staff know who I am talking about and they share my comment. Casey Cares has given our family joyous breaks with tickets to the pumpkin patch. In an effort to give back to those organizations who has helped us during the rough patched in Giana's treatment, we plan to fund raise for this organization in the near future. The Casey Cares 5K was a fun run around Oriole Park at Camden Yards and Federal Hill. Tons of sweet fellow runners and a dames kids to make you just melt. The best part of the race is finishing on the field at the ball park. SO COOL! There are tons of photo ops and free fruit at the end. What a great run for a great cause! Cheers to all the critically ill kids that will be helped with proceeds from the race. Hats off to Casey Baynes and the race organizers. Keep up the great work.

You pay $25 and you get to see some of the coolest houses in Baltimore city. You can also volunteer with this group via Bloomerang. The wine tasting event I went to was lacking in wine but I loved all the food vendors, I wasn't prepared to eat so much food but it was well organized. Their offices are by the observatory - it's the white building and they now have a public event space. A great resource and event association for the neighborhood.
