They offer a set fee covering a certain amount of days so you don't have to get nickeled and dimed…read moreover every email, call, etc. They offer great communication with your lawyer! I was told the 1st stage was long enough to get me thru the pre-trial hearing. If it went well, I would be done. There would only be the final judgment later. Sounds great! Don't count on it. I had to beg to get a call from my divorce lawyer, or answers to Qs, or explanations about the process. Even a downloadable expectations sheet would have been useful, but no. It just got worse. I had to change law firms because it got so bad. The delays sent me over the initial fee period and they wanted A LOT more $$ to continue what should have been resolved already. Things were turned in late. Disclosure docs from my husband were the wrong months, etc. My new lawyer got stuff done in a few weeks that Sterling didn't in 5 months. In 2 weeks, I had more conversations with my new lawyer than I had with my old one in total. I found out things that should have been told me months before, like I could get temporary maintenance! Well, that would've been useful, right? I got things I had been asking for, things filed on time, the ex made to submit documents, etc. Night and day difference! I tried speaking with higher-ups and was repeatedly shut down as a problem customer. They don't want to address issues. The most attention I got was when I got messages to tell them why I left... after I was gone. 4 times. It's very frightening to have to jump ship, as if divorce isn't already bad enough. Go elsewhere.

From the owner: Family law representation in Mequon, WI -- divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support,…read morelegal separation, and property division. Our office on N Towne Square Road, just off I-43, serves Ozaukee County and the Milwaukee North Shore -- Cedarburg, Thiensville, Grafton, Port Washington, Bayside, Fox Point, and River Hills -- with a team that handles family law and nothing else, including trained mediators and certified collaborative law practitioners. The biggest difference you'll notice is the billing. No retainers, no hourly clock, no surprise invoices -- one fixed fee covers research, calls, travel, court time, and everything between. You know the cost going in, and the number doesn't change because a case runs longer than expected. Three separation paths -- uncontested, contested, and our Three Stage Divorce process -- let the approach fit your situation. Call or book a consultation online when you're ready.
