We asked the delivery people to drop our couch on our outside deck and they refused (no idea why). They delivered into a carport and know we cannot move it into the house (we are both in our 70's and there are stairs leading into the house from the carport) but we could have if it had been delivered onto our deck. We had a great experience with the male salesman at the time of purchase however the female salesperson was rude both on the floor and on the phone. I'll only use it a few times a year, so I didn't really want to pay full price - and when you visit here you can see why you don't have to. A small scratch or ding leads to savings of over $150 on name brand applicances. Plus, they have a fridge at the front with cold soda and water and an honesty box system. Anyway, so a quick Yelp search just happened to present me with the Outlet store in my local area. We ended up purchasing a Fisher Paykel, stainless steel model at nearly half the price. I am so pleased! While we were there, we had around the show room, they sell all your standard White goods plus stove/oven, all at factory second prices. It would be great if they were bigger and had more stock but I guess time will help that. You can really grab a bargain item there. The salesman don't try to bamboozle you into purchases you don't want or aren't ready for either, which is always greatly appreciated. I'm a big fan, I wish I needed more white goods so I could keep going back!

Clayfield Vinnies has even gone to the lengths to arrange it's shop in a similar vein to a boutique store. You're not going to find stuff piled upon stuff here. Everything is orderly, skirts with skirts, cups with cups, the red clothes flow into the pink and then the purple... It's quite well presented and easily navigable. If the shops' appearance didn't signal upmarket to you, then the formal dress section should have. So should the design tags on some of the clothes you're browsing through. It was such a satisfying visit. I was bent over with the weight of the clothes I was carrying to the dressing rooms. There is so much great stock in here! The best part is that it's reasonably priced. If it's a designer piece, you'll pay a little more than the standard prices, but not much more. They've got five rooms of wares to sell, so put aside a little bit of time to go in there. Men might be pleasantly surprised by what they'll find in the men's section/room. Clayfield Vinnies doesn't really have much to offer in the way of homewares, but there is a small shrine per se, paying homage to more classical op shops with their mountains of tupperware strewn across the shop. What an unexpected find this op shop was. Because I was in Clayfield, I assumed that I wasn't in prime op shopping territory. As I left the store holding a new assymetrical linen brown skirt ($4) in one hand and little black dress ($6) in the other, I realised I was wrong.

The staff clearly knew what they were doing and took pride in their work. We picked up a few items and found the prices fair, especially compared to some of the bigger op-shops we later visited. We were also surprised with the music selection playing; the usual 97.3FM was cast aside in favour of Triple J, which the older ladies didn't seem to mind. Perhaps this is just a sign of suave staff who know their market. I like to think they exclaimed once we'd left and switched it over to a classics station.

When they have their sales I love to take advantage and stock up on cheap jewellery and last seasons clothing items (did I just admit that I wear 'last seasons' clothing?). The jewellery, handbags and hair accessories are probably my favourite thing about Sportsgirl. The jewellery is funky and is usually reasonably priced. They have a pretty stellar collection of unique rings and other very colourful jewellery and accessories. I still love their clothes, especially since they tend to specialise in boho-chic these days which I adore, but it's unfortunately overpriced. As I previously mentioned, the sales are the best time to shop at Sportsgirl.

Never got a phone call which we were told we would be getting. Never told that the courier would only put the two boxes only at the front door and not bring them in. They are too heavy for us to bring in and are broken and torn and then retaped together. Not once were we told that we would be assembling them and that even if we were not home that the item would be left. Totally understand that it was an online item. We went to the store at Aspley to see what the type of lounge was like and shown lounges similar to the one we were buy. We were happy with this. It is something that we have not done before, buying online. Never told it would be such a horrible experience like this. The guy I spoke to down south said put a tarp on it until I hear back from the company. Does he not know what the Queensland thunderstorms are like. It will take 24 to 48 hours for them to get back to us. In that time we will have a completely washed out lounge. If we were told this would be happening, we would of gone else where to buy our items. We have just moved into our house and have purchases so much furniture. Eureka, Early Settlers and Amart. We got a Take and Bake pizza and cooked it at home. The pizzas are big but the ready cooked ones from the food court are enormous! Being a member you also get the cheapest petrol around.
