Today I was called by the lead person for Housekeeping Associates She was very apologetic and felt terrible about my experience with their company. She discounted my bill by quite a bit was willing to do anything she could to make things right I felt she was sincere and was truly disappointed with the work that was done especially after I gave her more details. So I feel you should give this company a chance She also stated they like to have the owner review the completed work before the crew leave especially for first time customers I do appreciate them contacting me. read more

This company is fantastic. I have tried many cleaning companies in the area, and this is the only one I have been happy with. I am very picky when it comes to my house being cleaned. They are efficient and thorough, and always very polite and friendly. They answer phone calls and emails quickly, and they customize the clean depending on what areas you want focused on. I have used Housekeeping Associates for several years and also can't imagine using any other cleaning service. Our regular cleaning team (generally of two; sometimes three) is friendly, accommodating and does a very good job of cleaning - better than I would! I have often asked their advice about how to clean a particular surface or item. The administration at Housekeeping Associates is very helpful when I need to reschedule, suspend or delay a cleaning. We had someone, I think his name was Joe, come out and clean our windows. He was awesome and did a great job! We were very happy.

I was looking for a housekeeping service every 2 weeks and tried Housekeeping Associates. I was very disappointed. A person came out to give me a quote and went over everything that would be cleaned. Unfortunately I was told one thing and the cleaning people did something else. The team was in and out of my house in less than 2 hours. The floors were not clean, the carpet was only quickly vacuumed and items were dusted around and not moved. I actually dusted after they left. Not a good job for a first impression so I decided not to use them on a regular basis. read more

I had the same experience as a reviewer in the Brighton area as well as one in the Ann Arbor area. I had their office manager come and do a "quote" for an initial cleaning. They said it would cost $500 as when a home hasn't been professionally cleaned in the past it would take extra time to get up to the level they want. OK fine, I will pay this exorbitant amount if every inch of my home is pristine and immaculate. I did tell them to start in the upper level of my home, 3500 square feet, and then if time allows, go to the lower level walk out finished basement, 2800 square feet and clean. When they arrived, the ladies went straight to the lower level and started. I told them that I wanted the main level done first. They said not to worry, that they would have PLENTY of time to do the whole home. I then left the house to let them do their work. I came back an hour later later to get something I forgot, and found all of them sitting in their car smoking. It was about 10:45 and clearly not yet the lunch hour. They quickly hopped out of the car and came in to tell me that they were on a half hour break. WHAT? They had only been working just over an hour. When I came home at the end of the day, they were gone. And the bathroom in the master bedroom hadn't been touched. At all. And they didn't clean two of the bedrooms on the main level other than to lightly vacuum. There was still a lot of dust on the floor in the corners and behind the doors. I called the Housekeeping Associates office and got a snippy response. I demanded that they come back and complete the job. They came back a few days later, grudgingly, and finished the job. In the process, a very expensive decorative accessory was broken. They said that it was my job to find the price of an exact replacement and then subtract it from my bill. I didn't like their attitude so called and left a message for the owner. I waited 5 days. No call back. I called her again and waited another 5 days . Still no response. The only response I got was them hounding me via phone and email to pay the full $500. I wrote on the bill and sent it back to them telling them to have the owner call me. And I couldn't believe it when the only response I got was a letter from her attorney telling me to pay the bill. I never did speak to the owner. Of course, I did eventually pay the bill, less the cost of the item they broke, and less a reasonable hourly wage for all the time it took me to find the item and then make multiple phone calls to them to get them to complete the job properly. My time is worth something too. In all the time it took me to deal with them, I could have cleaned the house, much better, myself. There are plenty of good cleaning services out there that have responsible workers and responsible owners and management. I would steer FAR clear of Housekeeping Associates. read more
